Oh shit! Just realized, before we continue this conversation, we are going to need to get away from that amulet. Just because Max isn’t here doesn’t mean he could come back in and sneakingly listen in on these conversation

Normally I’d pick the reasonable action and ask to walk and talk with him to get away from the amulet, but I think Bobbie deserves to let off steam with how frustrating finding allies is, so I’d say use the silverware you used to eat the pie to knock the amulet off the table as far away as you can. Hit it in an area that doesn’t have anyone around. I’d say throw it, but it might have some magical security or something.

How would I know? We're just here as a representative. Ooh hoo hoo! However we are impressed. We use the crown to help us with what we do. Still, what good would a soothsayer's item be to yourself? (So many not-quite lies! Last one is a question so no lie. Leading question but no lie.)

Well, he bullied you, seems only fair to tease him back in return

Point at the guy in the front of the picture (the shorter haired guy) and say "you're right, you do have crazy hair, crazy how clean that is. that's probably the cleanest hair I've ever seen. You seem a bit worried about the well dressed barbarian haired man behind you though."

I just want to see how he reacts, and if he'll lie and agree with us, or correct us, or know we're joking.

but yeah, I wonder how much he's heard of our conversation with that lie detecting hero.

>>
No. 1124652 ID: a99d12

From what you say there's several possibilities. Either you have to deal with curses regularly - on a personal level and/or with the people or places you see. Or you collect curses, for a compendium or in a more literal sense. Or as a lawyer you find curse loopholes. Per us, we've seen our share of curses. However we're uninclined to be open with people who just show up. Perhaps that status may change though... future friend.
>>
No. 1124674 ID: 09d008

With all this talk about curses, I'm glad we got that amulet away from us. Imagine if that hero listened in on us and could use that against us in the future.

anyways, I think Dervan wants to curse someone, which, hey, he's free to do, his actions somewhere else is none of our business and has little to no effect on this world.

Someone could even include himself. Some curses people cast on themself on purpose and tolerate it if the reward is high enough and outweigh the negative, such as a very powerful sword that curses its swordsman.

>we've seen our share of curses. However we're uninclined to be open with people who just show up. Perhaps that status may change though... future friend.

I feel this answer is the way to go. It'll entice him to assist us in the future if he wants to learn more.

But I think we should also throw in a freebie and mention A). Maybe not go into too much detail about it, but just enough to entice him.

(sidenote: I've seen Dervan in other adventures, that business card is not just a ordinary business card, he uses that to look in on people, and communicate with them. that said, maybe at most, we can mention you sense that card feels weird or enchanted, and ask about it? But perhaps it would work better if we play dumb, and not let Bobbie and Abdle know to keep the naivety believable.

With that in mind, I don't think we should throw it away, Dervan can be pretty helpful. If he sees us in a tight situation, he might be able to lend a hand. Just have to make sure to keep him on our side and doesn't side with anyone else in this world as an outsider looking in. Best way to do that is to cooperate with his interest in curses.

>>
No. 1124740 ID: 3b0686

Maybe it's the way you look, is the reason why you are interested in curses. You said it yourself this is not how you normally look and your world made you appear like that. You yourself are cursed.

D. Ask if you and he can do this somewhere more private. I mean, I’m alright if it will reveal who Bobbie is, but if word gets out Bobbie can’t harm anyone to someone who is listening in, it’s pretty much over for her. An outsider like Dervan is fine knowing about it as he said they’re just passing through. and he could be a valuable partner from the outside if we can get a heart point from him, or at least reward us with something good if we help him, like he could let us keep that second curse detecting constructand knowing Dervan from other quests he was in, he can be very helpful if a little suspicious

A for Abdle. I respect him enough to not have Maya shut him up.

I also realize this machine might also detect any kind of curse the worms may have put on Bobbie, based off of her conversation with Prince Hollow Heart when we were deciding what to do with Shadow Taker’s (the cat’s) body. Something about Bobbie having an unfortunate birth, and worms or something?

And now for Abdle to try to make you feel better:

What dervan said cannot be certain, and him saying demons like Beuleveria here are not special is not true. Your mother is special to you, and if there are detailed records about her somewhere, she is special enough to warrant being written about. It's alright to feel sad about not getting to know or remember her enough, as you still remember that love for her.

But you can honor your mother by proving Dervan wrong about demons in this world by not being just another demon who simply rule over damned spirits in his own afterworld like a spider as Dervan puts it, but instead, as a overlord who rules over the living in this world. Not many demons if any can accomplish that. You're right now the only demon I know of who currently has their own kingdom among the living for example.

concerning feeling sad about not being able to remember your mother, and not knowing if what Dervan said is true or not on her being a goat sacrificial lamb, I think there are ways you can remember your mother. Dervan said there was a school of demonology, and it seems from his account that it knows quite a bit about her. I think it is very important and be therapeutic for you, Abdle, for all of us to try to look into researching about your mother. Maybe look for that school of demonology that Dervan talked about if it exists in this world, and if not, I'm sure there are texts and researchers out there that study demons who might know something about her. Heck, we can even ask Dervan himself if we visit his dream about what he learned about her, (though I do know you dislike him and might not want to listen to him...) We also have that new book seller who gave Bobbie that book about magic. Perhaps we can ask about any books about demons you can read?

I guess maybe that's why that one demon said it was pointless to feel sad about that, if it was really rude way to say it. Because there are ways to learn about your mother to help you remember.

Maya, do you know anything about this school of demonology Dervan talked about? is it somewhere not from this world?
