Give the protagonist of this story a name and backstory.

his given name is Fluffy
his actual real monster name is Lagomagnus, but he's not supposed to refer to himself as that name. Only Fluffy.

as a child, he used to live a peaceful simple life in a small hidden monster town in a giant underground cave. However, humans invaded their town to mine for gold and diamond, and some kind of weird magical material not even the monsters knew about. The monsters were too weak to kick them out, so they had to just live with it for years, even let them know where some of the materials were just so they can get the miners out faster (they really had no use for the materials anyways, they just want the humans out)

However one day, a massive cave-in happened from the mining, killing the majority of the villagers and miners including Lagomagnus' family. Lagomagnus was one of the very few survivors, but luckily, one of the human miner survivors felt sympathetic, and decided to take Lagomagnus to an orphanage (which was actually a place for monster slaves) where he was eventually trained to fit into human society and for this job. He was given the name fluffy because as Deavela Trebyle said, he's nothing more than an exotic pet.

It may just be a rumor, but if we don't act on it the people will investigate themselves. We both don't want peasants wandering around in the woods, causing trouble.

And if there is really a lizard of note, we will need your expertise to make sure it isn't a threat to people or nature, without killing it hopefully.

I dunno about giving the farmer the job of the rear ender, as he is listed as a beginner, while this quest is labeled as a medium danger.

I was thinking he should deal with the chicken toucher, since he's also a farmer, and farmers work with chickens, he should be able to tell if the chicken toucher is doing something that would cause the chickens themselves to act weird and look for symptoms.

Anyways, A. Is this guy even a member with the guild? we don't even know their name, or their rank. For safety reasons, we can't in good faith offer them this quest, or any quest until they go through the proper procedure in signing up to join this guild as a hero like all the other heroes.

If they are insistent, tell them they are free to do this quest on their own, but not through us, meaning they won't get rewarded or receive any benefits from us. We will also still keep the quest open for heroes in the guild to take, whether they want to sign up with us beforehand, or not and do this without our sponsorship.

A. tell Margus what he wants to hear and say we do not want to get involved with this. His actions are his own responsibilities. He can keep all the money, you don't any of this dirty money

What do? perhaps the tavern, if monsters are allowed in that is. You might hear some rumors from heroes and travelers and merchants, and get information on future quests you wouldn’t hear from the guild that could help assign heroes that best fit certain quests.

Also might get to listen in and learn about heroes that may come to the guild in the future to help decide what quest best fits them

Hang out with Truffles, bet she knows whats fun to do around here. And we can find out if she has any character besides hating Shrimpy
