I haven't felt too confident in my quests lately and I was wondering what you guys thought; should I abandon my current quests?

These quests seem a bit too big for me to tackle at the moment, especially with my current writing abilities.

So what do you all think?
>>

I've been liking HALL so far. It's creative and refreshing, I like the surreal themes and the art isn't half bad. If you're worried about your quests not getting much attention, just keep in mind that tgchan is a small board. The other quests I've been keeping up with have been a little slow too. The only way you'll get better is practice. And hey, what it boils down to is what do YOU want and what will serve YOU.

Thank you. I think I'll continue with these quests for now.
I do at least want to finish one of them.

I do apologize for this thread, by the way; I haven't felt too great about myself recently. Your comment on HALL helped me out a bit.

No problem. Remember, if it gets too stressful or if you're not having fun, it's time to stop.
Sorry that you're feeling down, I know I've been there before. Hang in there, don't let self doubt hold you back.

HALL seems neat and explore-y. AvatarPace uh... I have no idea what is going on and it seems like the quest keeps switching realities so we have to keep throwing away information and it's like we've made no progress until like, just the last few updates. Unless that stuff gets thrown away too.

That's the one I have the least amount of confidence in. AvatarPace will be... something else to save, I must say.

The opener was fairly enjoyable and had its memorable moments, but left a lot more to be said. I very much hope the antagonist will reappear later in the season, because we didn't even know what her goal or motivations were. And yeah, Trixie looks so small-game compared to Starlight Glimmer.

At first it felt refreshing to see such a serious matter as social equality touched upon in a kids' show (well, comparatively). Then I went to derpibooru to read comments and very quickly got bored and irritated by all the "COMMUNISM!" posts. It's surprising to me how easily people confused a 1984'esque dystopian dictatorship with a concept for a regime that didn't even happen in the real world.

Weaver and his brother have been evicted from their apartment and are threatened with homelessness. They're asking for donations to help ease the blow.

See here: http://tgweaver.tumblr.com/post/19107187069/help

And here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3256976/

I'm not quite sure if this news belongs here but it's important, and I figure putting it here will be a sure-fire way to garner the attention it needs.

Sorry for bringing this old thread back to the top (I can only assume it was on the first page because of spam), but I had a question about it. The first post and its date imply that ponychan (presumably ponychan.info, which I believe was basically an alias for tgchan.org; am I correct?) existed before MLP FiM began. What was it before FiM? (in whatever sense it could be considered different than tgchan). Was it just related to the old MLP stuff, or what?

Cygnus is, at this very moment, running several spectacular text-based quests with just filler graphics and pure-gui images.
Art is by no means a necessity for a good quest but, like a19cd5 said, if you think it'll be vital to the quest you want to run, find someone to collaborate with you.

Random people in your quest thread probably aren't going to contribute art for each update, if that's what you're asking.

I've got good news!

The Weaver has recently decided to get himself a Patreon. That means it's even easier for fans to donate money, if they want to say "thanks" for all the art. It's already been very successful in just a few days, and if you feel like giving him a little extra, here are the relevant links:

http://tgweaver.tumblr.com/post/104650901717/ive-joined-patreon-many-friends-and-fans-

http://www.patreon.com/tgweaver

Even better, he's also thinking about making a website of his very own, which will include an archive of all of his art with a convenient search function. The details are forthcoming, but it's certainly good news for any fans who'd like to find more of the stuff he's made. I'm personally looking forward to it very much.

Also, it's his birthday today. Happy birthday, Weaver!

That gum you like is going to come back in style.

A cursory investigation indicates that pornography is indeed banned, but "adult content" isn't.
Details: https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201872047-Is-my-adult-erotic-content-allowed-on-Patreon-

The vast majority of Weaver's art should probably be fine. Just make sure that any posts with NSFW content are marked for patrons only, and if there is lingering doubt. it might be a good idea to make the account private so you'd need a link to view it.
>>
No. 26892 ID: 742b4a

It sounds like, to be safe, Weaver should just not post any porn on Patreon. Which, looking at his patreon page, he is already doing.
>>
No. 26893 ID: c9f250

>Red fucking alert.

Patreon isn't terribly run; they gave notice and the ability to fix things to the pages that needed it.

Anyway, they clarified their stance. Photographic material can't go beyond R rated, drawn material can be porn as long as it's properly marked as NSFW/private.

They're just bad at writing a clear TOS.

Has been up for a day or so and running stable, on mcpc+, and needs players to get things rolling.
It's a weird smorgasbord of techno and magic mods that I managed to get cooperating.

Server rules.. uh.. ask Dylan/don't be a dick.

Originally also had a few entity-adding mods and Ars Magica 2, but removed them. The former to cut down on memory usage a little, and the latter because other servers have had some questionable stability when using AM2.

IC2 experimental is in it because one of the people I was doing the pack for wanted nuclear reactors and junk, the UE reactors have been buggy ever since they were first made, and I'm not too happy with rotarycraft/reactorcraft atm.

The pack's here, http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/quantum-thaumaturgy.214318

You'll need to download the technic launcher and plug the platform url from that page into it via "add mod" on the mod slider in the launcher (left side).

If you don't like the technic launcher, get something like MultimMC 5 beta or magiclauncher, and use this for the mods/configs. You probably won't need the bin folder. Just make sure to install latest forge for 1.6.4.

You're a 99% likelier to catch me on irc, tbh.
If you're reporting a bug, please pastebin or dropbox (or whatever) "output-client.log" and "ForgeModloader-client-x.log" (where 'x' is the number of the most recent file) for me. It will really make it easier for me to figure out what's going on.

The Uncrafting Table can serve the same purpose. It just costs exp instead of fuel.

Hey, now that the world's reset, do we need Mystcraft anymore?

The server isn't even around anymore!

FYI a spambot bumped the thread, that's why it's on top.

I'm the author of enemy quest and that is a 100 percent valid criticism

Fair enough. Like Brom said, that's valid. If you ever get really bored and curious, I suppose you could try copy+pasting the text somewhere else if someone hasn't already done that?

Enemy quest fills the "Dating Game Quest" gap.
There's always been at least one of those.

I saw some die rolls in the thread for Nem's Quest, and there's something I wonder:

Why are the results of dice rolls ON TOP of the post? It gives the false impression that the dice were rolled before posting, which we all know is false.
Why aren't the results at the bottom of the post? It would make it immediately obvious that the dice were rolled after the posted clicked Submit...

Does it matter? Everyone who knows how the dice function works already knows that dice are rolled after you submit.

I think this orders in the set of worries way below "why is it in the e-mail field?" and "why is it even still called an e-mail field when the only people who use it for e-mail are newcomers who don't know any better?"

If I might, I find the die rolls confusing when I re-read my posts. Using Random.org screenshots seems more natural. I've been lurking for awhile and just figured out the die rolls recently. If anyone's got feedback 'bout them I'm listening.

I've been reading boards for years, and I still don't "know" to the point that I instinctively see the rolls happen *after* the post.
After all these years, it's still something that has to be "corrected by the brain" the next second.

This means it stays confusing for a loooong time. It's an extra step one *always* has to take, for no good reason.
