Pilot: We're not going to be sticking around; we'll be waiting underwater until you find what you came for. After you pick up the Azerite you can call us back and we'll take you back.

Co-Pilot: Hopefully any problem you come across can be handled on your own. There aren't a lot of people that can respond quickly enough if shit hits the fan.

Bower spots something from up in the trees while scouting ahead. A broken down tower structure not to far from his location; it doesn't seem like it's where you're supposed to look, but it does look like a part of the rest of the ruins. The sight must be close by.

Bower gets down from the tree to discover very deep footprints in the dirt, Bower rushes back to the rest of the group to tell them about what he found.

Gwyneth: Somebody else is here ? Do you think they're after the Azerite as well ?

Lady: For all we know they could just be squatters living in the ruins.

Rascal: Regardless we still need to get to the ruins and find the Azerite. If it is someone after the Azerite we shouldn't wait too long, what's our next move ?

The game just begin and the location was indicated by a god, so it's very likely the church would receive a similar tip and investigate at the same time we would.

Rascal, Biter, and Wanderer head toward the tower to clear out whatever may be inside. It's completely empty, whatever containers or chests inside are busted up or empty. From the top Bower see's the rest of the ruined building down a slope near the tower. From up there he can see more footprints leading inside. The tower does have a good view of the outside of the temple, and if needed Bower can grapple hook to a different vantage point; Bower can shoot through some of the weak structures in the temple too but he'll have to use Aether Sight to see inside. Being so high up will activate Bower's [Death From Above] in combat.

The team regroups at the top of the tower.

Wanderer: Right, that's where the Azerite's supposed to be.

Rascal: We outta consider the worst here. I doubt anyone else on this island so far out and so close to Azerite is friendly.

Bower: Anthills always look small from the outside, We never notice how big they are until a swarm starts to rise...

Biter:...What's that supposed to mean ?

Bower: I mean...The ruins look pretty small, but I'm sure if it's supposed to be hiding something as important as Azerite there's gotta be more to it. Traps maybe, something like that.

Rascal: We still need to get inside, no matter what's inside...

Okay plan is to sneak up to the other building and scout it out without being seen. Wanderer is the best at sneaking so he should do that.
...actually that's not true, Biter is better since sneaking is an agility roll and he's got a smaller profile to boot.

I guess they could both go up there? Wanderer can lag behind a little so he doesn't have to sneak as carefully.
How far away can Lady hit with her Blowgun? That'd be a good thing to use if we can find someone alone. Astral Venom someone then hit the ghost for a silent kill.

Tree's have a hard time growing anywhere, the ones that do grow are skeleton trees. They hardly ever bear fruit and tend to die soon after growing. The tree's being this way are normal sadly.

Wanderer and Biter head towards the ruins to scout for possible hostiles or traps. Statues line the front of the building. The structure is damaged in a lot of places: there are holes in the front of the top floor, one on the side of the bottom floor, and the top floor has a large hole in it leading straight down to the bottom one. From the look of it there are no people inside, and there don't seem to be any traps inside. There doesn't appear to much of anything inside save for what looks like a cellar door in the back of the room, there must be more underground.

Wanderer: The inside of the buildings nothing but wreckage, there might be more underground after all.

Rascal: Hold on Wanderer...Bower's hearing people approaching...He says they're coming towards the temple from behind! There's supposed to be six of 'em coming in from the north!

Bower: Aether Sight's registered them as hostile. They're approaching you two fast!

Do they seem to know about us? Hopefully not, but even if they do we can use that to our advantage. Unless they have a magical detection like we do they were likely only capable of identifying our two scouts, so the rest of the team can still rely on the element of surprise.
We want the fight to happen in an open area that give Bower ample opportunities, an at the same time close enough to obstacle like trees that allow Rascal to approach undetected (Lady can try but with her agility I wouldn't count on her). I assume Bower is facing the front of the temple, so I suggest that Wanderer and Biter hide near the entrance. If the enemies circumvent the building those two can strike a surprise attack and block the entrance at the same time. If the enemy enter the back of the temple Bower can warn Wanderer and Biter and they can hide near the debris instead.
Assuming we get a sneak attack Wanderer should start the combat hitting someone with her Numbing Dart and Biter should summon a Flagellum. Rascal should try to sneak closer and shoot at the enemies after the combat start, I'm rolling for her stealth. Lady could do the same, but someone else will have to roll for her.

Wanderer and Biter rush to the inside of the ruins to hide. Bower ducks down into the tower to make sure he won't be seen. Lady and Rascal try to regroup with Wanderer and Biter but are cut of by the party walking up to the front of the ruins. The blue fabrics each of them wear shows their affiliation with the Regent Church. Three foot soldiers trail behind what look like two priests and a cloaked figure...

Rossman:fine, just ignore me. You hired me for this and you still treat me like crap. This better be worth it...

The group look into the hole in the side of the building. Floyd sends two of the foot soldiers to the front by the main entrance while the rest of them begin to enter through the side of the wall. Wanderer and Biter await hiding inside, Biter has summoned a Roaming Gluttony which lies in wait with them.

Floyd: Okay...I think I'm a little upset now...NIKKI! Where are you!?

Nikki: Don't worry I'm safe! I don't think I can get shot from here.

Floyd: Not what I was worried about but okay. Rossman go somewhere, don't care where just stay out of our way.

Floyd gets up off of the ground and heads back inside of the ruins.

Nikki will give us a lot of trouble if she keep summoning minions and hiding like a nom combatant pagan. The best we could do against her would be mark her with Bower's Blood Mark, but since she is specifically hiding from his line of sight I'm not so hopeful.
Wanderer should use Aether Sight to locate Nikki,throw a Smoke Grenade to cover her movements and aim a Numbing Dart at the priestess. Biter should use the smoke cover to get outside, far away from Floyd.
For those actions I guess Wanderer will benefit from Agility and Perception. I'm rolling for perception.

Bower Ensnares Floyd in place as he grapples back to the safety of the tower, He uses Spell Sniper to draw blood from Floyd. Lady hits Floyd with her Astral Poison to disconnect his soul from his body for just a little bit. Instead of collapsing Floyd's body instead writhes around much more frantically then it did before. Entirely consumed by the rage in his body Floyd is much more dangerous in this state, Luckily him being ensnared keeps him from being any more of a threat for now.

Ancient gears and mechanisms are buried underneath rusted over and chipped apart over the years. This must've been what Nikki and Rossman used to enter the sub-level. The Duo enters the tunnel in pursuit of the pair of church henchmen.

Rascal's strength buff from Strong Brew wears off, she suffers from Withdrawal for 2 turns!

Ensnare wears off of Floyd, he is free to act next turn.

Don't think paralytics and debuffs are gonna work on Floyd anymore, ensnare only worked because it was physically restraining him and Bower is a pretty good caster.
If we want to stop him, we need to do something drastic, like removing his charm.
Another possible way to deal with this is to exploit his frenzied state and sick him on Rossmann and Nikki.

Its effects don't take hold right away but soon enough it'll start to drain Floyd's speed and strength, hopefully fully paralyzing him. While he's distracted the dart the Giant Gluttony charges him and pushes him off of Lady, Floyd has the Gluttony locked in a grapple.
