The Boy has lived a good life. While being a nomadic people does present problems, there was little worry. Game and water was was never scarce. The boy's life did come into danger, however, on a few occasions. A raid from a rival pride, a wild beast or sickness that wracked the body. You kept him from death and let him expirence some hardships. At the age of nine he took the name of Mewilk.
Today is his fourteenth year. This marks his passage to adulthood and with it comes the Great Hunt. This is a rite of passage where a male must survive on the plains for a week. He is giving a full quiver, bow and dagger. After his return, he is accepted as a adult.
Mewilk finds himself in good spirits setting out. He has developed a foundness for hunting alone. It puts him, as he says it "At one with the Gods."
Within hours of departing, small voices begin to whisper into his ears. They grow louder while changing in pitch and tone. They stop when it comes to a clear, crisp and monotone voice.
"This one expresses its' good will. This one hopes you enjoyed your childhood, for this one worked for it to be so."
Mewlick is taken a back by the voice. The voice calms him down and explains meaning of his revelation. With a meek voice and puzzled look, he asks.
"If you are a God...or Gods, may I ask for a sign?"
