It is for us to pray not for tasks equal to our powers, but for powers equal to our tasks, to go forward with a great desire forever beating at the door of our hearts as we travel toward our distant goal. - Helen Keller

These papers aren't really all that interesting, except for this one of course. Illegal weapons found on the side of the road? Sounds like gun smugglers to me.

Didn't think that small towns like this one had gun smugglers.

Right, back to following Louis.

The staircase over here goes back up to the second floor, and also has some stairs going down to what I assume is the armory.

I head downstairs.

As I near the bottom of the stairwell, the sounds of a struggle become clear to me. A man stands in the hallway adjacent to the stairwell, brushing his hand against the wall as he stumbles towards Louis. I think he's bleeding.

Shit, what should I do guys?

Do you perceive these guys as green-tinted? Cause we do, and that means they're infected. If this guy's between you and Louis, you can't really help Louis out with his current problem but you can at least distract the new threat. Just, like, whap it with your stick then stay out of range.

Louis: "Never mind, Eli. I think I know what your deal is anyway. C'mere."

I walk into the armory. I'm surprised at the size. Its a bit small, but then again this is a small town. There's no reason to expect them to have a large weapon stockpile protected by steel cages and fingerprint scanners.

Still, this can't possibly be all the guns in the station. Louis probably has the rest locked up in those lockers, along with the food and water.

X Gauge? Good name for it, I guess.

Each person is born with a virtue that they must embody, like Humility and Patience. I was born with Loyalty.

Filling the bar is a matter of simply sticking to that virtue. Some spend their entire lives passively practicing Hospitality or Temperance. Others go out of their way to perform Feats of Endurance or Courage.

Some virtues are better pursued actively. Others are best pursued passively. Right. I feel good. I just need to keep thinking like this. It'll keep me awake.

Keep talking to me.

Also, tacos are great. Mama wasn't much of a cook. but she did make some amazing tacos. Don't have any ingredients for tacos, just canned food and fruit I requisitioned from a house I definitely didn't break into.

I think I remember seeing a store. Probably has all the things I need for tacos. I'd need to leave the station though.

Might be morning. Might not. Bastards broke my watch. Light means I can see those fucks coming at me. Less shadows and all.

Superpowers?

Maybe if you believe in that stuff. I don't. The bar is useless, pointless.

I know from experience.

But sometimes, when I'm alone and asleep. I dream. Its taken me a while, but I've figured it out.

Freedom. When... If I fill that bar, I'll be free.

The zombies? Dunno about them though. They're a mystery. Not like I care anyway. They bit one of my friends. I tried to save him, but he died on me.

Then he turned. I shot him, point-blank. Right between the eyes. Saw him giggle and laugh right before I pulled the trigger. I felt him clawing at me, trying to pin me down, to push me to the floor.

I killed him. Had to. Had to protect myself. Besides, its what he wanted.

What's with the questions anyway? If you're voices in my head, you should already know all this. You're me.

Doesn't matter now, I guess. Just gotta think now. I can head out and get to the stuff to make some tacos, or I can check the building for more infected. Or do something else...

What do you think, me?

Okay.

The halls are clear, except for the bodies. There's an extra that I don't recognize. Eli must have killed it. Good for him.

I take the stairs up to the lobby. Interesting. Looks like morning. Light's filtering through the doors. Blood's drying up. Is that a finger?

I won't go up the left staircase. Can't see any more blood tracks. Besides, I don't think they got through the pile of bodies I made at the front door.

Sounds good.

I give the infected man directly in front of me a kick to the chest while he's still stunned from the bullet to the throat. He chokes on his own blood as he falls to the floor.

Gotta keep moving.

I raise my service revolver, aim for the infected directly on top of the woman, and fire. First shot goes through his elbow and into the wall. Next shot punches through his skull, spilling blood and brain matter upon exiting.

The woman curses. I ignore it. Not done. Two bullets left.

I shift my feet and feel them slide. Something wet on the floor under me. Probably blood, though it could be paint. Not sure yet. Can't think about that right now.

Third shot hits the big guy through the shoulder. He moves, making my fourth shot tear through his ear instead of through his skull.

He's angry and I'm out of bullets. Gotta reload. Speedloader's in my pocket, I just need a few seconds. Do I have that kind of time? Dunno if the painter's gonna rush me or if that shot through his throat was enough to kill him.

In hindsight, I probably should've switched guns back in the armory.

back-peddle while reloading. the live one near the woman will want you now so she's safe.

The one who fell to the floor and who you turned from may not stay down, so you may be in a position between two potential hostiles. It might be prudent to fall back through the doorway while you reload.

As Z suggested, you should try to push the infected guy through the windows. Because you dropped your gun and it is risk the woman will be seriously injured before you could pick up your gun and aim at it.

Huh... no response. Guess he's dead. Sure was nice of him to kill that big sonofabitch for me, though.

Louis dead? CRAP!

Oh by the way miss... RUN TO YOUR LEFT! Because that are another infected guy behind your back and it started to heading to you!

While running for your life, try to head to the armory. You will find weapons to protect yourself and a guy who call himself Eli.

Yeah, see, I'm not really feeling keen on that whole "check on him" thing. I mean, I'm grateful that he saved my life, but uh, I'm kind of busy here, and I can't really help him anyway.

Shit. That guy isn't moving fast, but he's still moving. I gotta think of something quick. Cause, you know, I really, really don't want to get bitten.

Ok, let us analyze some facts.

Louie the cop said that infected are lot stronger and faster than normal human. But this current infected are moving slowly, maybe because of injured. So that we SHOULDN'T underestimated it´s speed.

Infected are smart enough to lift up the corpse and throw at the cop and then attacking the woman.

The revolver that had been dropped on the floor don't have any bullets. So picking up the revolver to use against the infected are out of question.

That are bucked with blue color.

The keys are lying on the floor, possibly keys for the jails.

My best conclusion is that you should try to run past the infected guy while avoiding being near it. If infected is about to catch you should try to push infected's chest so that it will trip over the cupboard and then continue running away. Alternative you could use the bucked with paint to temporally blind it.
