Okay, let's just eat this zombified person no.

I guess I'll just go inside and sleep for now. REALLY need to wash up this morning, for real.

In the morning, you should look for a cave then wall it off and light it up with torches as your new home.

Not much, just mostly some plains.

>>209630

What could a cave have that I would POSSIBLY need?

>>209653

Guess I should, it was a bit cramped last night.

>>209658

There's no land in sight! This won't accomplish anything.

Ah, there's a nice little tree to cut the fuck out of.

(Should I keep this soft shadow rendering? It brings the rendering time up about 4x but it looks pretty nice. Not sure if it fits the style, though.)

(50 picture milestone!)

(no, go back to the old shadows)
Caves have iron ore, coal, gold, and diamonds. I'd think you would be mostly interested in the ore and coal though. Maybe you'll find an exposed vein of that just wandering around...
>>
No. 209689 ID: 55e935

Stone. Caves have stone. With this, you can make a stronger house and a sword. Some armor would be nice, too.

Furthermore, you want coal. These monsters are allergic to light. Make some coal torches.

And exactly how useless would diamonds be if I were out in the middle of no-where and had nobody to sell them to or any use FOR the currency I would get?

>>209689

Oh. Ugh, I feel more retarded by the minute. Regardless, it gets pretty dark at night and a comforting light would be nice, even if there were no monsters for it to scare away. Then there's also the upside of having stronger tools!

Just gonna take this tree back and make a pickaxe now, I guess!

Diamonds aren't worth money on these kinds of islands.

However, as ridiculous as it sounds, they are AMAZING for making armor and tools or weapons. They're super strong and you become a gleaming knight of creeperkilling. Also, investigate the weird antigravity pig.

(this is a really cool quest and I really like it! I think maybe you might want to take a look at Weaver's custom tileset--it looks really neat and it's also a lot easier to differentiate what kind of material weapons and tools are made of)

Yep, seems like a plan. Might also want to make a door. Oh, and carry around like ten or fifteen sticks. Might come in handy.
>>
No. 210355 ID: ed09de

>>209701

You better dig on upper ground though, or you'll fall on flooded caves.

Also, you might want to look for something to wear that's confortable and durable. And isn't made from bodies of dead pigs; They don't have good leather.

Sorry about the really, really, really delayed posts lately, but I've been experiencing some incredibly annoying technical limitations due to the fact that blender really isn't optimized for this kind of thing. I've had really humorous plans for the quest and I really hope I can continue it until then, but with how slowly blender works with just the absurdly SMALL world I've come to complete, without some outside help I'm in a metaphorical dead end. I could climb the ladder out and endure the slow work, or I could find some way to optimize the performance, but one of the main gripes I have is building the world by hand. If I could take the VISIBLE faces from minecraft, and import them into blender, I could use a REAL map without the performance drop.

Next post coming up will be response to all the commands that have been given.

More like using them for tools and for torches (mostly torches) for your eventual beginning in mining.

Also, you should make a club from a stick and some wood, so you can defend yourself.

ALRIGHT! Now unequip that shit and start digging downwards in a stair-like manner, until you hit STONE. Mine chunks of that shit, and make a pick out of THAT and get going further down. Collect all the stone you can. If you get full, come back.

The best loot is in caves though! You can't just dig through the ground straight down, if you don't fall into a cave, you'll fall into lava!
>>
No. 210573 ID: 5e90fa

>>210572

I beg to differ. I've found about 20 diamonds digging out my own caves.

5x5 pit with stairs is best.

>>
No. 210864 ID: a594b9

>>210572
I agree that digging straight down is a bad idea. You should never dig rock that's right below your feet. However, digging out a downwards shaft is fine so long as you leave stairs or something.

Anyway, stone is the most readily available material. I would suggest making the rest of your house out of it instead of wood. Save the wood for making tools and torches.
>>
No. 210871 ID: e31d52

>>210864
Yeah, a 3x3 or 5x5 mineshaft is excellent, because it speeds right through the z-levels and you can hit minerals pretty easily.

revival again, if somebody is willing to either a. write a program to convert minecraft maps to .obj files or b. buy me paint3d, i'll be MORE than happy to continue this quest. however, blender has become nearly impossible to work with, and i either need a method to import poses and models directly into minecraft or a method to export minecraft directly into blender.

again, sorry for the bump, but this is the truth.
