Before I go forward with new post tmo afternoon/evening, let me just touch on how stuffs gunna work.
Descriptors: Label Modifiers
There are several kinds of descriptors Tory and other characters can have, but for the time being you'll only encounter label modifiers.
For each suggest post describing an angle that contributed to an outcome of Tory's decision will gain a label modifier. Each followed through suggestion that backs up an existing suggested course of action will add +1 to an existing label.
For example, Tory is given the opportunity to be a death god's apprentice. 3 voted go for it, 2 voted to decline and I decided to give the ruling to the majority. The two who voted to decline will not have their suggestions converted into label modifiers.
Of the three that voted to accept, poster A suggested to accept humbly, while poster B and C decided to accept with some flair do demonstrate Tory's qualifications. When they're suggestions are converted to l. modifiers, Tory receives +1 Modesty and +2 Show-off, no matter the outcome. (This reflects how seriously Tory considered the option, and her likeliness to consider this option again or act upon it in the future.)
Labels can be kept in reserve or expended to increase the probability of success for a challenging course of action related to the label. If she wants to size up a foe at the diplomacy table, she can spend as many levels as she possess of analyst to gain a bonus equivalent to the levels she spent (1 to 1 ratio.) While there will not actually any rolls involved, the number is there to help me (the QM) and you (the suggesters) to gauge the magnitude of the additional effect. Since Tory is new and requires training, much of this will happen automatically without decision or consent until she learns to control her faculties.
For example, say Tory needs to sneak into a rival culture's pantheon and impersonate another deity. If she hasn't been trained, a random number of levels from every disguise-related label will be automatically expended the moment she sees the target she intends to impersonate, no say in the matter. If she has been trained, she can choose when to activate her powers, and how much of her resources to invest in it.
Experience Points
Now, XP acts something like a label modifier. Like label modifiers, XP can be spent to improve and augment your actions, but you can only spend 1 point at a time on any given action. As you've seen, three or more label modifiers can purchase 1 XP. There are three kinds of XP, lesser, medium and greater (lxp, mxp and gxp.) Lesser xp can be purchased by spending +1 modifier from three separate labels,(like +1 Analyst, +1 Strategist and +1 Leveragist). Medium xp can be purchased by spending +3 modifier from three labels, and greater xp goes at the rate of 1 gxp from +5 spent by each of 3 labels.
lxp provides +1 to any action
mxp provides a +2 to any action
gxp provides a +3 to any action
As stated before, you can only use one xp at a time, and you must choose to use either a label mod or xp on an action; you can't use both.
XP can also be used to purchase facets, establish domains (both physical dominions and specialized functions, roles and offices) and other abilities.
Facets
Are gained when xp is spent to purchase them. Facets will often embody the labels used in making that xp. 1 lxp will get you a basic facet, 1 mxp will buy a minor facet and 1 gxp will earn you a major facet. There are greater grades of facets of other varieties that can be earned, but they cannot be purchased with xp under normal circumstances, and some cant be bought at all. These Easter Eggs have to be discovered after great accomplishments.
Facets will either (a) grant Tory a passive bonus or ability or (b) grant Tory an active ability (likely with restrictions of specific circumstances to activate or limited frequency of use.)
