Pre war map, as you can see, the Kobolds seriously need Lebensraum. I'm not going to go too much into world detail that doesn't pertain directly to the quest, though. Like answering questions of where the Sergals are or where X other race comes from. This one only shows the standard races.
>>
No. 6833 ID: 5bfd32

So where are the Sergals from?
But serious, all threads are on the same time-line and the protagonists could possible meet at some point?
>>
No. 6834 ID: e3f578

Aww, no protagonist locations? Is it a secret or did you give the details in their respective threads?

Four possible locations for Flarey in the mountains, I see two deserts for the Sergal, unfortunately forests are everywhere so Amadoobus is pretty much impossible. Imli is underground somewhere so no for her... probably in the mountains. Same with Emma.

I'm guessing the kobold is between a kobold territory and a sergal territory.

Any Super Heavy Artillery in the cutebold arsenal, to compensate for their tiny dicks. Bigger than the thing from the first thread I mean.
What kinda government does Chlokosrodershrurisjulukuthraygis posses? I assume something like fascism with lots of propaganda against sub-cutebold races. Any bolds opposing the current regime or is everyone content with the provided security?

It depends on what they're fighting, and how dug in they are. Something the size of the Schwerer Gustav could possibly be practical for shelling a dwarf fortress, especially if the walls are solid rock like they tend to be.
>>
No. 6933 ID: 88d217

Oh, and the government is more like 40k, in that there are heads of separate "departments" that are all responsible for running the various aspects of life. The average cutebolds are completely fine with this, as they don't have to do anything.

You could, if you have the time, tell us some about the back stories of the protagonist.

Cheren is part of a splinter group that's been operating inside enemy territory to harass and inconvenience the enemy, as well as steal as much as they can get (that being her main motivation, and she likes dakka.) The bulk of them have founded various small towns and are making an attempt at civilization in other places. There are still a bunch of them that think they are born to raid, and form various and sundry gangs.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, anyone else feel free to post some as well.
I'm glad to see that I'm doing things right for the most part, the primary draws seem to be the art, characters, and puzzles.

Let me address some specific concerns pointed out:

>Less cuntpaste plox.
I assume you mean pasting the character into the backgrounds. I've been trying to do this less and less, sometimes I spend as long drawing the character as I do the background though. It's really an issue of speed vs quality updates, a lot of the time I don't want to draw a character just sitting there answering questions because the players asked a whole bunch of them and didn't suggest any actions.

>You update when I sleep. Derp.
I should really update more during the day. I try to but stuff keeps happening during the day. I'd actually rather do it then.

>Info about the world, but that's probably spoilers.
That's pretty spoilery, I've always found that finding out about the world is most of the fun in a game.

>Fucking around for like ever with pointless shit for no reason at all. Like that thing above the well in "Face in the Sand".
That thing was actually something ploy relevant but I don't think anybody has thought about it yet. Also it's food+water for a few days. And players really love to dick around, I'm not one to stop them unless it's truly something pointless. I run it very much like my tabletop games, letting the players dick around is something I'm accustomed to because my players dick around a whole lot. Plus it feels like railroading if I don't let them do it.

>Pixel-hunting. Losing out on cool stuff for missing cracks or reflections kinda sucks, it also makes people search everything instead of going on.
The only thing I've really put in as a tiny pixel was the emerald, and people spotted that right away. I love hiding stuff in my quest, and I try to give subtle clues like a character looking somewhere, or pointing at something, or a shadow forming an arrow to a feature if it's something pretty cool. None of the secret stuff is integral to the main plot, it's just laignappe.

>Which leads to my only real complaint, the Quest occasionally feels slow.
This is really a problem all quests have, mine perhaps more so because of all the messing around I let people do. I don't like telling the PCs "guys stop doing X" because really they're free to go anywhere they want. Well, if they're outside anyway. I'm not sure how to prevent this.

>Close-ups of a person's face every time they talk.
This is usually because I don't feel like spending 30+minutes drawing a frame of a character answering questions, see above. I'm willing to take suggestions on how to do it differently though.

>Secrets. They smell of railroading. Unless you make up the secrets as you go along rather than plan them out, in which case what's the point?
How's that railroading? None of them are integral plot points, most of them are weapons or loot of some sort. Every now and then one will be a clue tangenital to the main plot, but nothing necessary. A lot of the loot/item ones I do make up when I figure out where the players are going. I actually make maps of the area before I start, where I plan out some secret locations, puzzles, etc. Explain the 'railroading" in more detail, I'm not understanding where you're coming from with that one.

>Plot. It seems to be taking a long time for the story to get anywhere. Maybe we shouldn't be skipping around between characters so much?
That's really up to the players. I always give a chance to stay with the same character or change.

>Blurry backgrounds.
Yeah this started with me trying to make things look nicer by using a soft edged brush on the shadows, and I'll get tired and use a giant one to draw stuff in that I shouldn't. I'm gonna try to stop doing this, it doesn't look good, going over some recent images.

>I hate how we're dumb and miss awesome secret things.
I'm not gonna stop putting them in there but I can't make /quest/ any smarter. They seem to miss a lot of more visible ones and get some of the more hidden ones.

Personally, I'm a fan of the close up pointing at a thought bubble with an intentionally poorly drawn highlight of whatever is being discussed. I do that a lot in Apoc, like so: http://www.tgchan.org/kusaba/quest/res/57434.html#92438

Its still relatively lazy, but it makes it feel more personalized.

>I'm not gonna stop putting them in there but I can't make /quest/ any smarter. They seem to miss a lot of more visible ones and get some of the more hidden ones.
We're probably looking too hard, is what it is. Maybe you could use this thread to go over a couple of secrets we missed in the past (under our honor that we ain't gonna retardedly backtrack for them), to give us an example of what we are overlooking? I'm not expecting you to tell us what's actually in the secret or anything, but maybe post the images and explain the clue, or something. For those of us who were bad at Eye Spy books.

What I meant by railroading was that I though that secrets meant that you expected us to follow an exact path, like we had to go from point A to point B without allowing for alternative routes. It was really nothing more than a feeling I had.

I'll also give some responses to the positive stuff as well, everyone seems to like the art, and I feel the stuff I do when I'm not tired is far better than the ones I do late at night. I'm going to attempt to update during the day whenever possible. This should also help move things along as well because I also work faster then.

I didn't really thing I had much in the way of story or character development, but that's another point people seem to like, so I'll keep doing that, whatever it is.

I didn't realize the puzzle stuff was actually as popular as it seems to be, I thought people were having too hard of a time with them so I kind of scaled them back. I can definitely add some more in the future, though.

I can definitely add combats, but I'm trying to not kill the protagonists myself. I think /quest/ should be the ones to do it if it happens. There will be dice rolled and I have a combat system that I've been using.

>I can definitely add combats, but I'm trying to not kill the protagonists myself.
There's no real reason to make the fights extremely dangerous, just enough of a challenge to be fun.
And you can always make it so that losing the fight doesn't mean death but being wounded and/or being captured by the enemy. That way the Quest can still go on for that character.

uhm. My impression was that the only portion which was April Fools was the cat bit, and the latest chapter has as much in common with the others as they do with eachother. Which is to say, they probably take place on the same planet and that's about it.

This isn't strictly true, see e.g. the description of http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4555061/ (which is Lucid himself).

So while some of Imli's freakout might be culture shock, this isn't just the surface. For one thing, gravity has still gone AWOL.

I've always considered that while Lohrke have perchant for technology and invention they are rather unlikely to become a space-faring race for simply psychological reasons. I can imagine 'sky/space madness' being a serious problem, all that oppressive emptiness, making it a rather un-attractive idea to most.

I also have a feeling Lazuhrek cannot 'into spess' if only becasue they can't see anything worth going for. It's a bit weird to imagine a species who never will see the stars. I mean, they could logically see the value in spreading the species across other worlds. However, the beauty of space, the stars, the nebula would be utterly lost on them.

For those interested, there has been at least one more fatality due to vacuum exposure, detailed in NASA CR-1223 (http://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/casi.ntrs.nasa.gov/19690004637_1969004637.pdf) along with a whole pile of other information on the effects of rapid decompression.

Interesting rake-away: death from sudden decompression is less likely due to asphyxiation, but rather from cardiac arrest: an effect similar to 'water hammer' causes vapour locks to form in the arterial system and the heart.

>derpan about "radiation" gun
It's not an (ionising) radiation gun, it's a maser ( >>/questarch/54769 ), albelit one with a nuclear powerpack. Since real-world masers are apparently low-power frequency references I'm guessing hers is supposed to be more of a microwave-oven-gun, given it cooks things ( >>/questarch/63211 ).

The steam when she fires it is probably atmospheric moisture in the beam's path vapourising. That's not going to work for propulsion.
>>
No. 34079 ID: 180ec2

>>343863
Technically, photon radiation does provide some miniscule force. Photons have a momentum, and thus emitting them provides a reaction force. For most cases, such as this, this is not enough to do anything with.

A canteen filled with water, taped to the front of the MASER on a low/moderate power setting should act as simply thruster.
However, trying to manoeuvre in a microgravity environment, with no prior training, with a single unwieldy propulsion source? Bad idea.

There's still some atmosphere left, so a sheet of fabric used as a fan would be enough to waft towards the nearest wall without generating enough linear/angular velocity to cause injury.

Can you give some info about the Kathartes?
I guess it was for best that Cheren didn't risk attacking them, being captured and upgraded with mechanical parts.
Well, most likely it was for the best anyways.
But they seemed pretty interesting.
>>
No. 50577 ID: fcf52d

Yes they were, and I was for approaching them. A certain Heshka had probably had dealings with them before, course Cheren wouldn't know that...

Whats the state of the occupied territory that we are in? Do the bolds enforce law and to what extent? Seeing as the Kathartes are going down the road in plain sight in a slow ass wagon (compared to cars) I'm assuming they are tolerated by the bolds.

Out in the borderlands where Cheren is there's no law to speak of, the cutebolds roll though in armed convoys every now and again. They aren't generally looking for targets but they won't ignore one if it shows up.
There's usually a garrison of sorts in controlled towns as well.
