>I think PAC just outright stated you don't have to be a SAI to perform independent actions.
You know for a fact that most AIs are generally more intelligent than most people expects… and more stupid too. There’s more than one case where an AI has done some strange things when following orders, even though it must do some strange leaps of logic to reach these conclusions.
>Dang, this is a hell of a spread Eli's staff have served up.
You have no mouth and you must drool.
>What the heck is this huge roast beast even?
According to your mods, this is some kind of giant worm from the desert planet Arraka. It’s apparently a real treat combined with some of the stronger spices. Of course, as they currently near extinction, this specimen was probably cultivated elsewhere.
>And what is that heap of... whatever in front of Cksk?
It’s some kind of plant with ruby colored fruits. You guess you’re supposed to pick them directly from the plant itself?
> ...Oh, don't forget you're technically still on duty, so no alcohol.
Luckily, they seem to have several non-alcoholic options.
>What is PAC's priority tree, anyway?
My priority tree is very complex, officer. Do not worry, the wellbeing of everyone on this station is one of my top ones.
>Put a filter on it. We can't cry wolf all day and then expect people to believe the evidence we put forward.
I concur, if we keep giving her wild theories, she might not accept the true ones.
>Okay, so what do the cameras say when they track Cib?
Cameras don’t talk… nor have they seen Cib leave the locale where he had that meeting. This require further investigation.
>Could there also be the possibility that somebody made a fake Peacekeeper suit to approach Cib in?
That would indeed be possible… of course, if they actually walked into a real peace keeper patrol, they would quickly detect the fake one and arrest it.
>Ask PAC to count up the officers that appear on camera to make sure that there's only four and that they match with the species of the officers on record.
… … …There are six officers that enter the private area where the locale was located… two of them, two sakkilians, should not be there. I’ve also found them leaving… one of them carrying a box the same size of the one you got earlier today… and the other carrying a large trash bag. I’m going to guess we just found where Cib disappeared to yesterday.
>Putting their PAC unit on private mode?
Your PAC unit can be put on private mod if you’re off duty and not wearing your suit. In fact, you should never wear your suit when you’re off duty without a proper reason… the same goes for wearing it while on duty.
>Can you still pull a list of those officers who had their privacy mode engaged?
I’m sorry, I cannot do that.
>Don't PK stun rods log every time they're used and the officer has to account every one of them?
That, on the other hand, I can… …there were no registered uses of a stun rod at the time Cib was attacked. It seems like it wasn’t a peace keeper stun rod that did the deed.
>It said that its assailants messed up all its communication devices, right? So how was it communicating with its severed head?
Many SAI, Cib included, have bodies with special, priority receivers installed in their main body parts. That way they can be sure that they can communicate with their whole body, even if a part would be lost. Of course, the problem is that these receivers are only usable for internal communication and not built to be able to contact other systems.
>Whether or not there is a solid explanation, request that one of the AI or computer forensic techs thoroughly go over Cib's hardware and software before letting it go.
They are already doing that, Jo. He’s almost whole again, too.
>Why is your current PAC unit saying that you have nothing that proves that it was a nanomachine?
Because the data I received from scanning the nanomachine is not enough to actually prove it was one. I simply came to the conclusion thanks to other factors. We have no actual proof that it was any kind of real nanomachine and not, let’s say, a bug in your communication mod. Besides, data taken by an AI like that is never enough proof to be used in a court of law.
>Check if SAIs or AIs can be transferred from one AI transfer core to another without being placed in an intermediate body.
AIs can be transferred between cores, yes, but AIs can’t be transferred between bodies unless they are both of the same model and one is empty.
>Ask PAC if the lock on Tr'ak's rented storage container logged when it was opened.
We’re still working on retrieving that data.
>Ask PAC to list all the possible ways that the message warning you off the case you got yesterday could have gotten to you without any trace at all.
There are too many to list. If you know how, it’s not hard to get off an anonyms message.
>Also ask PAC if the video from the storage unit taken from the warehouse has been recovered yet.
They are looking at it right now… apparently, you friend the deus machina bot with a walking problem is back.
>Another loose end is you didn't check if the K55P could remove its own black box recorder, and if so if it required tools or not.
…we still don’t know exactly how she accomplished that, ma’am.
>Can we have PAC do searches for Isaac Asimov and Philip K. Dick.
…I can’t find any re- no wait, there’s a mention of an Isaac Asimov here… apparently he was an author from before the fall of the humans home planet but not much more is known about him. Why do you ask?
I… don’t know…
>K55P left behind a note on one of the ARCs, but it was taken away. Is there any way it can be recovered?
A note, you say? LEX, find whoever took that note and bring it here… both the note and the person.
As you wish.
>K55P at one point said 'He didn’t think I would find out? That Fucking son of a bitch, how can he do this to us!?'.
…is that true?
I have it recorded.
Interesting, that sound like the first steps toward going rampant…
>There was also that note in Tr'ak's office waste basket that read "Remember: Park, Savior, need cash, sell bot."
Sell bot? Which bot? K55P?
I think it meant the stolen data about the ARCs.
>You'll need to have the note brought out for forensic analysis to try and determine if Tr'ak wrote it or not and enter it into evidence, so would Eli agree to allow you to do that?
Err… we already have the note in our possession. Remember, you picked it up, Jo.
Oh, right. Then analyze the shit out of it!
Scanning… I’ve found some points of interest. First, I was able to lift one of Tr’aks claw prints from the note. I was also able to detect a mark made by a mechanical hand, probably K55Ps… and an small print made by someone wearing gloves. It was either a Human, Sakkilian or Serpens.
Hmm… so Tr’ak wrote the note… and K55P found it… but who is the last one?
There’s also another thing. The first part of the note, “Park, Savior, need cash, sell” is written with a different style the last part, “bot”. In fact, it seems like the word “data” has been erased before being replaced by the word bot.
Really? Now that’s interesting.
>Tell Eli that Tr'ak was renting a storage container that was found to contain three "junker" 'bot bodies he built himself and that were ready to accept AIs, along with parts to build more.
Hmm… so he had more SAI friends, then?
>Ask Eli who was granting and denying the requests to make to LEX when you were in the Sol Corp offices earlier.
:EdiDREAM: Indeed, I did allow some of your request to further this investigation along.
>And ask why Cksk is sticking around. Did Eli hire him as her personal legal counsel or what?
Please, do you really think I don’t already have an army of personal lawyers?
Actually, I’m here to represent Tr’ak’kq’urk Qu’r’kkz relatives and close friends. Eli deemed that I should sit in on your debriefing as I already was in her office at the time anyway.
>I think you should up your personal security.
While I appreciate the concern, I’m probably the most guarded woman on this whole station, Jo.
>Who wrote the note that led you to the BTLs Tr'ak rented and why the K55P was holding it at all when it committed suicide.
The handwriting on that note does seem to fit with the writing on the note you found in Tr’ak’kq’urk Qu’r’kkz office. It’s probable that Tr’ak’kq’urk Qu’r’kkz wrote both of them.
>And then there's the question of why Tr'ak would shut off his medical alert implant right before
That’s already been answered. He had a special mod in his augmentation that closed of all recording data, including the medical one. It’s not recommended to have an mod like this, but it’s not illegal.
Err… e-excuse me? Y-you wanted to s-see me?
…you’re the one who retrieved the note from the ARC?
:UnknownKAN: Y-yes… I mean… err… I… um… yes… h-here?
Scanning… … it’s a nice envelope addressed to an “Silia Zelte” and it got a nice, old fashioned wax seal bearing a symbol of a broken hourglass… within it there’s a note saying “I am sorry, but Trakky has betrayed us. I’ve found proof that he’s going to sell us off… I’ll go talk to him one last time, but if I don’t return, fear the worst.”. Analyzing… going by the perfectly done handwriting, a machine wrote this… probably a SAI.
Err… so… um… c-c-can I go now?
