well the world does normally seem to end around the 5th thread so I've kinda seen this coming. Oh well lets have some breakfast to gain our strength and then see weather or not we can save the world...again.

Great. Endless undead horde that only gets stronger the more they kill, and they stopped the sun from rising, or shrouded the world in darkness.

Not good, really.

Well... our options basically boil down to fighting the entire horde (suicide) or trying to disable or distrust the mechanism blocking the sun and hope that gives us enough of an advantage, or go right for the head honcho and kill him (which I'm not sure we're capable of yet?).

They're pressing their advantage, now that they've killed the only thing that could stop them. Alternatively having been killed Lizbeth is even crazier, but let's not entertain that possibility.

You've got to figure out who's behind this Claire! They used you as bait, so you must have had connection with them before! Is there a way you could remember that?

Oh I thought of a great analogy the other day. Imagine a golem who cannot speak, so you teach it to write letters in the sand to communicate with you. Then you have the bright idea to have the golem draw things in the sand, from pictures to complex representations of your own reality. But something about the golem breaks and it starts forgetting what it's supposed to do and going back to old patterns, that is letters in the sand. Those are the letters you're seeing. An artifact from a past form of reality that was composed only of letters and thought. As the golem should never slip into that mode again, nor should the letters be random and chaotic, it's a very unstable system. You basically are the sand paintings and have to keep the golem from going berserk and scratching everything out. The good news is the golem is watching the sand so you can communicate with it. It's also made out of sand, and sand paintings are what determine its actions and choices, so you have a hope of fixing things. Find where the golem's programming is, learn its shape, and return it to the proper shape. Like a wave smoothing out the sand. That will repair your sand paintings and thus your perceptual reality.

Ren got a standard armor, so it’s a given that there should be others that looks like it.

Um… Will, was it? What happen here?
Yeah, I’m Will die, part of the redshirt group… As for what happened, about a month ago the undead stormed the place and killed everyone. Me, my brother Soon and a few imperials was able to hide out in one of the secret tunnels of the school and survived. We’ve lived on the food converter in the kitchen ever since.

Uh Clair I'm letting you take the wheel on this one, do you want to keep the memories of this little misadventure or do you want to start fresh as well, either way it's sounding like you won't be lich anymore, which come to think of it does that mean your family will still be alive and that you would actually have married Folken or whoever it was that your parents wanted you to get hitched with?

Oh and what happens to us then, and I mean us as in the head voices?

If you want advice I'd say go ahead and ask to remember this. For one thing you found love here and if your parents stay alive you'd have no reason to join the school where several of the people there that you fell in love with. It'd also give you a leg up on crafting Runes which are hella useful even if you aren't a lich.

Wait, if Liz isn't a lich, and there's no vessel in play, the empire won't come looking for it! That'll change pretty much the whole course of events, won't it?

...and does Clair stay a mage?

How about we go back to after the first day of school and the haunted house stuff? Before the empire invades? Which... shouldn't happen now I think? That should dodge most the boring repetitions (no meeting friends for the first time again) and picks up where things should start to diverge.

There will be some changes to catch up on (like maybe Claire's family surviving, or not raiding the crypt the first night) but it should be workable.

If that doesn't work out, then uh... Well, thinking about the choice, since you won't be a lich this time around then your parents won't be dead, which means you'll wind up married to Folken. That's BAD, and I don't see how to avoid that, even if you choose a late time to reset to. I guess if your parents just die from a random undead or bandit attack things could work out. Hmm, another thing of note is that your relationship with your three boyfriends will probably develop slower since you won't have a dramatic confession to make, so it'd probably be best to not remember your relationship with them. I mean, it'll be boring for you and maybe a bit unnerving to them that you know so much about them already.

So I'm thinking it'd probably be best to forget most everything, and choose the time you first stepped into the school. Might be a good idea to remember at least the fact that time got reset like this, so that you have some evidence that this adventure happened.

I can’t seem to cast magic at all. But as enchanting is more based on knowledge then any kind of magical prowess I should be able to use what I know.

So... either this time-rewound world is an illusion that just booted Liz's attempt to get to you out, or all that blood and stuff was the illusion sent by someone to mess with you. Or you're just going crazy.

I kind of suspect you're not crazy. We know what that looks like. And if time were really rewound, you wouldn't have any enemies to try and deceive you with a false illusion warning.

Meaning the best explanation is still that this reality is false. But that you lack a way to break free, even knowing that. It's stronger than even the true illusions we've seen in the past.

Which I guess means you have to play along until we find a way to fix this or break free.
