I... remember everything. My parents Jim and Andrea Hanchett, my older brother Jake, and my younger sister Sophie. Jim Hanchett is a retired Commander for the UTR Navy. He taught me how to hold a gun. Andrea is a teacher at the Westwood High School. Jake does financial consulting, Sophie still lives with my folks.

I remember my childhood. Kindergarten with Mrs. Fujita. Grade School at New Washington Elementary. The awkward years of Middle School. High school and prom. Graduating from High School and the awkward speech made by Gerry Sinnot. Getting my driver's license. College. Graduating from college with a degree in Mineralogy and minoring in Astronomical Communications. Getting my first job at a GIS consulting firm. Moving into my own apartment. Getting a job at Equinox Survey Systems. Signing up for a planetary survey mission on the UTR June.

Well... I remember up until boarding this gigantic flying monolith, anyway.

I set Wheelbot down, unsure or how to respond to his comment. The memories flooding back make me almost miss the soft clunk of the elevator coming to a stop.

"We here!" chirps Wheelbot.

I stand up, bag in hand, and my gun stuffed back into my pants.

Make sure the safety's off while it's in your pants.

Advance with caution, and try not to make too much noise. First priority is finding a map, second priority is finding people, third priority is finding something to fix.

Seems like telekinetics would be a rather recent development then. Anway, lets get to exploring on this floor. Check through the doors before opening them.
>>
No. 295639 ID: 8c73c8

that's a lot of memories, nice. the last bits are closer to when you got hit with the weird stuff that caused this. so they are probably under more... something, i dunno. anyway yeah, be careful about this place, be ready to just run back here at any time and try somewhere else.

Yeah, it feels better knowing I have something worth living for. Something to go back to once this whole mess is over.

The elevator doors slide open...

...oh man. Again?!

It does not look like they have noticed you(though they probably have), so just head to the secondary bridge.

Oh good, they're not just zombies, they're horribly mutating as well. Wonderful. Head to deck 2.

Be careful once you get there. That deck contains the crew quarters. If everybody was woken up when this disaster started, they may have moved to other decks where they were needed - few zombies, in other words. On the other hand, if everyone was still working/sleeping in shifts when people started getting eaten, there could be a LOT of zombies there. Try not to make a lot of noise, in other words.
>>

if you can use your powers through the door you can try to rupture the bloated one, they explode remember, and with him exploding he may take out the other one near him.

The cancerous monster turns to face me.

"SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS."

I turn and mash the Deck 2 button. The figure lumbers towards me, but not before the elevator doors close shut. I hear the echoing of the hissing fade as the elevator ascends.

Welp. 0 for 1.

hooray for recycling older updates

I empty my pockets and the bag, save for the gun, ammunition, and cleaning kit.

>SARAH'S CURRENT INVENTORY:
>Hairpin
>Hair band
>Mystery key
>Clip-on ID tag
>Screwdriver
>Button
>Strange battery (empty)
>Broken PDA
>Bloody surgical scalpel
>Latex gloves
>Tweezers
>Scissors
>3 Shelf Stable Sandwiches (BBQ beef flavor)

The elevator comes to a halt again.
>>
No. 296861 ID: 1854db

Looks like all that is still pretty useful, but the bloody scalpel might not be safe to use. Infection and all that. ...the button might not be useful either.

Can Repairbot fix the PDA?

Also take a look outside.

After stuffing the items back into my bag, I peek through the elevator window.

Looks empty, save for the large puddles of blood.
>>
No. 297098 ID: 8c73c8

open the door to quarters and look in. if it has zombies then close the door and have wheelbot disable it. if empty then close it but leave it alone. then go for the secondary bridge.
>>
No. 297249 ID: 799b3d

Look down the hall to your right to see if there are any lurkers hiding. No sense messing with the door if you get jumped from behind.

Other than that, checking the Quarters door is good if you can get it closed again. I would recommend not relying on the gun unless the door is stuck open, in which case you'll be leaving the floor shortly anyways. Even with a silencer, guns are -loud-. They just aren't as eardrum-injury loud.
>>
No. 297254 ID: 1854db

Look around, make sure the area is clear. Then get to the bridge- don't bother with the quarters right now.

Priority one is finding those guys we talked to.

297314

My immediate area is all clear. No zombies here, thank goodness. Just a straight path to the secondary bridge and to the quarters.

The door to the quarters automatically opens as I get near it, revealing a blood splatter and a long hallway with the living quarters. I can't remember which room is mine, but it feels like it's pretty far down this hall.

...not that I'd like to return to it right now. But I would like to change shirts sometime soon, seeing as my collared shirt is damp with terror sweat.
>>
No. 297315 ID: 8c73c8

if it's far down the hall then some zombies could come out of any room on the way. let's try the bridge for now.

Knock in a musical manner. The things outside may bump into the door, so best to make sure whoever may be inside knows it's not that.

"Jes it did!"

Okay then. I really don't know any good knocks other than the old standby Shave And A Haircut, so I give it a try.

>>298490

Isn't that Lieutenant Taylor on the left there? Anyway, greet them, identify yourself, and then tell them you have the weapon Lieutenant Taylor told you to get. Tell them you brought Wheelbot to repair the communications.

Do not mention your TK power. If they ask, you're a good shot and you kept calm.

Ask how they are for food, mention you have some.

Being snarky with people you'll need to rely on until you're all rescued is foolish. If they're a little cautious and jumpy, remember that they've had a full week of this; you've only had an hour or so of the full effects.

First, identify yourself. That's always safe.

Lt. Taylor: "Sarah? The hell??"

He lowers his weapon.

Lt. Taylor: "How did... I can't believe you made it up here in one piece!"

???: "Wait... this is Sarah?"

Lt. Taylor: "Sure is, Rob. She's the lady from the Medical Lab I told you about."

They both glance at Wheelbot, and then back to me.

Lt. Taylor: "Well Sarah..."
