Okay. You
can do this (___).
You can do this.
No one else can...

(That first symbol in the unknown word looks like a capital L, the second one is a kind of reverse j, and the third is an i. Pet name for herself I'd guess? The second symbol is very odd though. I know that dot isn't part of the L, and besides that symbol is only ever by itself as part of a j.)

You know, it's strange that you're respawning here again. The spawn room is two rooms over, isn't it? And we fixed it too.
Did your items somehow stay in your inventory or do we have to go retrieve them?
...oh, I just noticed, there's a crack in the wall behind the jars. Might as well go over there.
>>

What the fuck was that!? I don't even think you stand a chance against that thing even in fight mode, hell from the explanation you gave us earlier I don't think you have enough in your fuel stores to even transform into that again. Shit...

Whelp, looks like the water tank path is now a no go until further notice... which means that elevator door in the silk pod room is the only exit available to us... wonder if we talk to Miire if she would be able to give us access to the elevator. She might have the authority to give you access to another floor. Hope it didn't need an item you picked up cause it looks like you lost all your gear.
>>
No. 1126790 ID: 9fae6f

Ah. Hmm. It doesn't look like she likes you back. My condolences.

Uhhh. Maybe we can...lure her into the water tank somehow and trap her? Side note on dying, aside from being unpleasant, I imagine that reconstituting you takes some amount of resource that a crumbling Tower might be short on, so, an extra reason to avoid dying. If it's the most efficient path to something though, I guess it's still technically an option.

...Did you get that coffee? Can you still, or will you have to recover the coins first?

I have no idea! Take it to your boss and find out! You can also take the opportunity to tell her about the murderbug upstairs. Our progress will be blocked so long as they're still up there, since we clearly can't fight our way past. Unless this new creature is extra special food that will make you super strong...? Well, don't eat it before you know!

Red color and additional eyeball(s). This might be related to the 'red fluid' mutations! If the sisters have been eating these things, maybe the food sources got compromised?

Either way, very carefully try to restrain the creature, lest it suddenly turn into a red monster blob. Then take it to your boss.

DO NOT EAT IT. At least, not until we know more.

>>1129895

Well, ok, it looks like the white lady. Maybe it's her kid? And she's assuming it's been kidnapped and is killing her way through the tower looking for it, so if you give it to her she'll let you pass?

It's either that or eat it to recover silk so you can try to fight the white lady in war form, but uh, I'll be honest I dunno if you could win even in war form. Also I feel like it'd be wrong to do that.
...what is it eating?

I guess there might be something else hidden on this floor we didn't find, too. Any thoughts on rooms we might want to search a little more?
Another thing we could try is just going up there every now and then to check if she's still in the room. Once she leaves we could try sneaking around and just avoid her from now on.
>>
No. 1129900 ID: 0404f2

I don't want to eat the grub now as it has grown on me in the last 5 minutes we've been around it. I say keep it as moral support since it looks small and squishy enough to be something you can hug when the stress of all the bull shit you have to put up with lately get's to you and just having something for you to pet and stop giving a damn for 5 minutes and just relax sounds nice...

wait a minute is it eating something right now? what is it eating?

also why did you lie about your fight with white-y? You realize now that if she shows up again you've basically volunteered yourself to fight her since you have claimed you can handle her right? I didn't take you for someone who likes getting stepped on but to each their own I guess.

Oh, and since you're here do ask Miire if she knows of any other way to get to other floors besides the fish tank in the next room as I would like a way to explore more in a direction that doesn't involve getting stabbed repeatedly until you can either overpower white-y or wait until she get's bored of stabbing you and goes somewhere else.

with this I was able to get an incomplete translation, so I think it does work. Like, for example,

>>1129893
"She stood above my dying body and said..."
>>
No. 1129907 ID: 70f58a

>>1129905
>does that help?
...ah, it sure does! Looks like it's just substituting individual symbols for letters. I'm sure I could've figured it out without a translation sample, but I wasn't motivated since it was obviously silliness in this case.
That means the way to translate this is to turn the letters back into symbols and then into their corresponding letters.

>>1129890
"-Then, she came at me. She had blades for arms and cut with great speed. But! I was faster, and able to dodge her attack!"

>>1129891
"I hit her back with a swift upper cut! Bam! Pow!"

>>1129892
"But, I missed the next blade..."

>>1129893
"She stood above my dying body and said..."

So yeah pretty much what I thought it was going to say. Only missing letters for the q and z symbols now.

Uh oh. If you look at the picture more closely, you can see that the eaten webs have a RED TINGE. Maybe they were 'spun' by thr creature we just found, or a contaminated sister? Hopefully it doesn't mean we are compromised...

It also resembles a grub or caterpillar. Maybe if fed enough, it will cocoon itself at some point and become something beautiful (and/or murdery). Feedung it could be an experiment to try.

Possible option could be to take the creature to a sister who is an expert on foregin species, a doctor, or other 'specialist' of the sort. Said specialist might also know what the heck the red corruption is. Does the boss know where we can find such a sister?

Whatever it is, it seems to spin 'tasty' webs with bits of red in them. Which we ate. That hopefully won't cause bad things later...

Maybe its a creature akin to an aphid in ant colonies, which get 'farmed' for honeydew. Or simply a larva/child of the lady that killed you.

If we encounter another 'red-corrupted sister' or 'white and red' creature, seeing how it reacts to the white-red larva might be enlightening. Maybe it can keep the lady from murdering you outright if you wear it like a hat.

The white-red creatures seem like they're members of an entirely different colony. Maybe this colony is being attacked/invaded? Parasited, even, by the red liquid?

In any case, the larva needs a name for us to get overly attached to. One that isn't 'Emergency Ration'.

>>

I vote for naming it silky or Weber since they make silky webs.
>>
No. 1130013 ID: 60fa38

I propose eye-pun names, like Peep/Peepers, Iris, Pupil... The big ol' eyeball on its head is distinctive.

How are the grub's different eyes (on its head and the circles on the side) reacting to motion and light, by the way? They seem to be entirely different from each other which is unusual for any creature to have.

Could also check if the thing is sentient/intelligent by asking it things and telling it to blink if it understands.

And I you...

>>1130691
I apologize for murdering you. In hindsight, that was rude. However, you startled me.

man sometimes I really wish I could read what they're saying instead of having to wait for smarter people then I to translate. Makes me feel like the 3rd wheel of a group project when you get stuck with the smart kids that just tell you to sit in the corner so you don't fuck up the project.

Is that safe to eat?

>>1130676
Huh.
I think I'm gonna
name her Iris.
Cause of the eye. Get it?

Note: from now on, words using the alternate translation method are in italics. I think it applies to names? That would explain a translation contradiction earlier in the thread.

>>1130677
Oh! Uh! I ate some red
thread! Am I gonna be
okay!?

>>1130678
Oh, that's
good at least.
I was thinking...
Iris here looks
a lot like the lady
that killed me.
I'm thinking this
is like... Related?
She might be
looking for her.
Maybe if
I bring them together
she won't kill me?

Of course.

>>1130679
Let's get you back

>>1130685
W?whoa,
hey, don't
kill me!
I found
your
other!?

I didn't
steal
her or
anything!
I'm
bringing
her back!

>>1130687
Uh. Yeah?

>>1130691
Well, ok. Hand over the baby and ask her story. How did she come here? Are there other babies missing? Did she see who took them? What has she seen in her path through the Tower?

I think we should help her find any more missing. I'm hoping none of them have been eaten... I doubly hope that the red parasite/flesh outbreak on the lower level wasn't due to them being eaten. Please don't mention that possibility out loud.

Startle her? How, you were standing in plan sight like a moth staring at a lamp for a solid 10 seconds before you were jumped, how was she startled?

Also who is she and why is she here, you never seen anyone like her in the hive before?

Oh and shot in the dark but ask if she knows what is going on in your home. You just woke up getting ready to start your day only to find out some weird flesh moss is growing everywhere and your sisters are mutating into monsters. Trying hard not to freak out over that so anything she knows would be something we’d all be very grateful to learn.

Calmly explain that this place is your home/hive, that your sisters are violently mutating into 'red liquid forms' from an unknown source/cause, that the communication chain broke down, and that you're on general emergency duty to fix things before the tower.

Return grub, offer her ride down to meet your boss and discuss what is going on.

Accept the apology and compliment her finesse, followed by asking her role/job.

Ask for her name / give your own, Casanova. And that of your hive/society/sisterhood.

Assuming it knows what Iris is / it's a baby of her kin, might be worth asking if its 'normal' for Iris to have an eyeball on its forehead. Mention the similar trait your sisters had when they mutated. Can't rule out that this weirdness is only harming your sisters.

Once again omitting the ellipses cause whew this one loves them.

I had not encountered this red madness until I arrived here.

You threw me into the air and broke my shell to pieces!

(I think I'll omit linebreaks from now on)

>>1130751
Aaah, it's fine! Don't worry about it. I saw this little guy and figured you must have just been looking for her. Well, here you go.

>>1130752
You don't have to thank me or anything. I'd invite you to a tour of the place but everything's kinda gone to hell.

>>1130753
Not the best time to let grubs wander around. Where are you from? Is your hive close to here? Are you guys also dealing with this red stuff?

>>1130760
WELL THAT'S BAD

Back away slowly, ask why she thinks she's the cause. Is it like a plague?! Can she stop it? Cure it?

yeah you're going to have to explain that one a bit more. As in WHY do you think you caused this and HOW did you cause this?

Also how did Iris end up here? They look like they could wonder but not from one hive to another.

First off, don't panic, but also no touchy in case she is correct.

This 'red madness' could be why she attacked you (instinct taking over?), unless she was legitimately startled / assumed you would mutate on sight or such.

The fact you're talking calmly suggests lucidity/immunity or something else being a trigger/transmission for 'murder mode'. And eyeballs being a common factor.

Potential way to test could be to, uh, have her poke the... Puddle... You left behind and see if it does red stuff.

Ask her how she got here and exactly what she witnessed of the red madness - it's hasty to assume she's causing it. Is the red stuff 'normal' for her kind?

You also might be special in some way, given your freedom to traverse and seemingly no red madness symptoms (assuming there isn't an eyeball growing on your back or something).

The eyeball growth in general is odd. Can she 'see' through it? Maybe what it sees influences mutation/behavior or something, or they're somehow linked.

Oh no, she's prettier AND more terrifying without the mask. We're at risk of nosebleeds, full facial blush and swooning.

I think we're playing Rubyquest: Silksong.
