A slew of turbulent emotions toss and tug inside you. You feel sick.

1105481

Your vision is blurry but you feel Poppy's chitinous caress.
Poppy: Oh, dear. You've got the scent of stress all over you, honey.
> "What's gonna happen?..."
Poppy: Well, I died and met Taxes itself. It was gracious enough to give me a second chance at life, but it involved tying my life force to my taxes, which are due tomorrow night.
She glances at the clock. 12:05 AM.
Poppy: Oh. Tonight. Yeah; 24 hours. What did you do while I was gone?

Choose or order:
A) Discuss the thingy. Four kingdoms or something? Does that have to do with BONE FACTION?
B) Discuss [Poppy:Inventory] status. Surely, nothing important was lost...
C) Discuss taxes completion. What happens when it's completed on time?
D) "Your clothes are gone." (observation/...suggestion(?))
>>
No. 1105482 ID: 48d653

honestly Poppy probably got the scent of dead to wash off
A, I would assume Lune would like to know whether or not to smash the thing, and Poppy would probably like to know about it communicating
B: I also assume Lune would like to know why her Poppy, her grey flower, Died, so lets see the bookshelf and whatever damages it caused, if it smashed the file cabinet of more than files you would very much so like to not be surprised with this
...and if we are thinking about it, C: is it really too much to assume that the pact wont screw you over? What is Line 2? important to know since that is what the pact is attached too
>>

B, then D.
>>

B. Your taxes are the first priority, so let's make progress on that, or at least take stock of what progress is left.
Then A. Something killed you, and it wasn't this thing because you put it outside before you died, BUT it's obviously related somehow to what happened. If something's trying to stop you from completing your taxes, you should try to figure out what it is so you have a better chance of defending yourself.

If you can't currently do anything important, then we can see about some D.

B) Okay Poppy, let's not check hammerspace until you figure out how to die in there without sealing yourself. Let Lune do it.

A and C.
>>
No. 1105580 ID: 99a466

C, a, b.

Taxes come first, because they're how we stay alive and happy. The thingy is weird and must be related to all this, so important to figure that out as a piece of the puzzle. The inventory situation is also probably related, especially to the thingy, given that that's where it first appeared, so I'd expect that to come up as a matter of course.

D is an incidental observation, which can be made at any point, but there's no point in dwelling on it right now.

Poppy neck-fluff smells like dust.

> "Well, I woke up because Jackson said you were 'scrunched' by 'rows and rows of flat teeth'."
Poppy: How would Jackson?-- nevermind.

Poppy tells you the details about the situation, how she died, what she saw, and how she came back. You have a couple questions.

> "Gee... I can't believe my wife met Taxes itself. Don't you keep a lot of important stuff in your inventory? Tell me it's not all gone."

Poppy tries to create a portal. The red film crackles and pops, but it stabilizes into a doorway. Beyond the doorway, a wooden shelf lay upon a mess of books... soaked with bee haemolymph. A chill runs down your spine.
Poppy: Oh, thank FUCK. I was afraid I lost my Inventory... Lune?
> "Sorry, I... forgot about that. You. On the floor. Dead."
You quietly hold back a wretch.
> "What do we have in there anyways?"
Poppy: Wedding photos, sensitive stuff... the pheromones...
> "Pheromones?..."

Poppy: Remember that time you put on the dead-bee smell? And I was the one sobbing?
> "Oh... I guess you got me back, then."
Poppy: Hahaha... sigh. I have my docs in my hand, as per my deal with Taxes, so there's really no use digging through there until I need to get shit together and clean up.
The portal claps shut.

> "See? Do you know what that means?"
Poppy: This poor creature might have been the one to tip the shelf that killed me. Also, I've had worse luck getting it to make any noise at all.
> "You can't hear it?"
Poppy: Ok, I hear the clickety-clack, but that's it.
> "It's talking right now! I swear I'm not crazy. It's got this airy, wispy voice. Earlier it was saying something something, four kingdoms? Some other junk. Maybe it has to do with BONE FACTION?"

Poppy: Oh, you mean like the four kingdoms of magic? Do you think it's a Mutian spirit? I mean, unexplainable nonsense tends to be the Mutian thing.
> "Mhm. mhm."
Poppy: The only thing is that Mutia tends to be the kingdom of wind and weather. I don't really get wind and weather vibes from it.
> "Okay, okay."
Poppy: I heard that Mutian spirits tend to be plants, anyways? And soapstone is considered the opposite of that. Maybe it's a multi-domain spirit? There's a first for everything. Its lack of physical interaction points to it being Curian? And--ohhh.... i htingk... the shock is wearing off....

> "I... (yawn)... still want to do something about it. We can't just leave it under there, can we? We have things to do!"
Poppy: Well, we can't report it to Paranormal because we've got an alien maid sleeping in our room that we KNOW they're after. Hmmm...

Get it over with:
A) Reason to adopt it
B) Reason to release it
C) Reason to report it
D) Reason to destroy it

Reason to destroy it, tit for tat and whatnot. If it doesn’t like it, go file a complaint with the department of death and taxes.
>>
No. 1106617 ID: 470bde

boy o boy
Reasonably this is something you should sleep on, BUT
You can interpret IT as A: trying to help you, badly. B: just *is* and is the kind of weird thing that causes weird to heppen if destroyed, which you do NOT need more of. C: Does talking to your demon friend count? Either way it is ALSO something you should do before a FINAL decision. D: wack fuck
Personally, however, I would go B, do to having reasons AGAINST the others. A: Don't adopt something you know nothing about. C: again you should TRY to figure out what it is first. D: you can't prove it was trying to do, or DID do, anything, other than maybe give a premonition of eminent demise. Sadly, Poppy might just be that clumsy, not like the bookshelf could be easily bolted down in a soulspace.
>>
No. 1106618 ID: 470bde

4 kingdoms of magic, but if babbled of a "5th kingdom"... if it is a spirit at all, it is of a magic not elemental, how odd... maybe you SHOULD adopt it, if only long enough to show to your friend to figure out what it is. When you know what it is, you can decide again what to do

That says:
"solstice: uper fun. some say the fifth kingdom was created specifi"
The fifth kingdom was *created*? Also, it's most likely quoting books. Do an internet search, find the books it's taking those quotes from. That'll give you more context and expand your knowledge to include whatever the fifth kingdom is.
...doing a google search myself, it might be the "four kingdoms model" of biology. The fifth kingdoms model adds fungi. Solstice doesn't look much like a fungus, but I guess that could just be another way of saying it's a form of life completely unlike our own?

A: it showed itself before Poppy died; if it was going to kill her it wouldn't have done that. Also it's *trying* to talk to us, and didn't leave when Poppy was killed. Also, whatever killed Poppy did so by pushing the bookcase over, which means it was still inside the pocket dimension when she died, which means it could not have exited-- the portal immediately closed! Yet, Solstice is here; this creature is the one that Poppy put outside her portal. Thus, it is innocent, and was trying to warn her.
Also you should probably ask Jackson about it tomorrow. Or, everyone you know, really. At some point if you think it necessary you could move it to a different location where you can report it without attracting attention to your maid.

A) adopt, imprison, in any case you need to keep this thing close until you get some answers. If you hand it off to someone else they might not share your urgency to figure it out.

[T-23:50:00 UNTIL DEADLINE]

Your bed has never felt less comfortable. Every second palpitates with dread.

Poppy: (You probably shouldn't slam the door. Dustin and Psyth are sleeping.)

The lull of sleep feels deceptive. The warded outer walls of the house no longer bare the safety they once did. Your feathers jitter with anxiety. You glance at Poppy's wide-eyed face and you can tell she feels the same.

Meanwhile, on top of the bed, Lune shuffles closer to Poppy, leaning into her neck fuzz.

Poppy's breath hitches as Lune's tongue makes contact.

Poppy: "Oh~"

Lune traces the underside of her clitoral hood.

Poppy: "Mm..nggh!"

It is not typical for Poppy to be on the recieving end, but given recent events it is fair to say she deserves to take it easy this once.

Lune dives deeper into Poppy's hole, bottoming out, then lifting out. At least Poppy can make up for a lack of lips with a long probiscis. Lune has to get creative and improvise.

Poppy: "Fuck... That's the speed, yeah."

Poppy has always always been the powerful one--talented, dependable, strong, you name it. She has been a beacon of dicipline and responsibility, not letting the carefree lifestyle of the daisy field that is Eastbone see her soften. Something about this specific risk is different. Final.

Mounting anxieties and mild dehydration weigh down on Poppy, making it difficult to ride any sexual rise. She had hoped that if she lay and felt it for long enough she would get in the mood. It takes a good ten minutes before the arousal starts to kick in.

Poppy: "Little faster..."

The plan is mostly figured out anyways. What is there to worry about? The stars of the North have to deal with the Iron disaster, and the crazies of the South tempt death for fun, she's pretty sure. Maybe BONE FACTION spoiled her. Maybe a good brush with real, final death keeps one healthy.
