Dusk Wonder

“Oh woe is me,” I woe, rising up from the water, “for was an orphan. My village and family taken from me by a few mana beasts, that left me supposedly disfigured.”
Asera looks me up and down, “Look fine?”
“It was a miracle they said, my injuries recovered in a few months, at the cost of most of my memories. I was in a coma, and soon after I awoke, I found myself with an insatiable hunger.” I leered at Asera, “but alas, for no matter how much I feed,” I grope myself, “this hunger could not be satiated.”
“So, you’re like, always horny?”
I sit down, “More or less.” I sigh, “It’s hard to find people to keep going for more than a few hours. If not for some discreet trades with the merchants who pass by, there may not be any virgins left back home.”
“I assume you tried getting help?”
“I mean, It’s not like I can walk up to any passing doctors and go “hey, I’m really horny, can you help me?”, and not expect us to be tumbling around in bed in a few hours.”
“I see your point.” Asera thinks, “Well, what got you into the guild then?”
“My guardian when I was younger was the guild master. I kinda picked up stuff from her just by proximity, and getting to be real friendly with all the new faces, and listening to their stories tend to get a little girl excited about traveling. Plus, it pays better than farming. What about you?”
“I was the third child of a middle class family.” Asera sighs, “I got into studying languages when my uncle brought back some artifacts he found, which the shrine quickly... purchased.” Asera begins washing her toes as she continues, “the money was used to send me and my sisters to school, where my love of languages grew. I was then scouted by the shrines when I partially translated some old empire texts, and there I met my husband.”
“Wait, you’re married?!”
“Oh, yeah. Simon and I both were translators, and clicked instantly when we were put into projects together. It was almost a whirlwind romance, and we got married after two years together.” Asera sighed, “But outside of work, we didn’t have much time together. Something we realized too late and soon we got posted to different locations.
I was in no condition to travel at the time, and he couldn’t refuse, so we agreed some time apart would be fine. And now a year later, here I am, stuck as a field agent while he’s stuck teaching a new generation of translators.”
“Do you still keep in touch?”
“Oh yeah. We send letters to each other every month. It’s nice to look forwards to it, but its hard for him to find me sometimes.”
“What about you? Out of your... conquests, anyone caught your eye?”
“Sometimes. There’s a few people who tried to court me. I try not to cheat when I’m in a relationship, but all that does is make me focus on a guy, and soon they realize they can’t keep up with me.”
“What about girls?”
“Most girls end up flaking out after a day and a half stuck in bed. Some still hang around, but I tend to be too focused to be much of in a relationship I realize. Haven’t been in a serious relationship since.”
“A pity. Maybe there’s someone out there that could handle you.”
