Alice has a date today.

It's exciting. It's also terrifying. Alice hasn't gotten out much lately. And maybe it's just stress, but Alice looks like shit! Shiiiiit!

She has a few hours to get ready, what's she going to do about this?

Step one is hair. You're a shaggy mess! Tryin' to cut it yourself is a bad idea, so just shower, dry and brush it, and tie it up or something.

Also, like, generally wash up while you're in the shower. Duh. You got a weird bit of space-drool goin' on.
>>
No. 921289 ID: ad51b8

well first thing you should do is wash up, then find something nice to wear, then fix your hair. After that we can figure out where to go from there.
>>
No. 921290 ID: bfdaf0

Yes, washing and brushing your hair.
Then, perhaps arrange it: A nice bow, perhaps a ribbon around your eyeflower...

And then, we'll figure out what to wear.
>>
No. 921293 ID: 10c408

Well the first step is to not work yourself up into a tizzy about it. That way lies mistakes, stress and further complications.

Second thing to do is get a shower and comb your hair.

You should probably shampoo and stuff. Make sure you use some of the kid-safe stuff that doesn’t sting when you get it in your eyes, since you have an eye in your hair.

You'll need to get dressed after. Maybe a fashionable eye patch for your socket?

You're military, so if you need to dress nice, a fancy uniform is always an option, though you might want a dress instead. Sort of depends on the venue and what you think your date would like though.
>>
No. 921295 ID: 080aaf

Spend biomass making yourself look nice. Enhance knockers, lip gloss, nails, legs, smile, the usual.
That's the important part, clothes are detachable but your face is... well, not supposed to be.
When you're done making it look right, see what you've got to wear. You can weave something simple but appropriate in no time if you use less material.
>>
No. 921298 ID: 99ed9b

Hmm, well since your hair is something you can control, I'm guessing you'll want to tackle this one of two ways. Either simulate dreads, since your hair tentacles could probably make a reasonable facsimile. If not that, then tighten it up into a coherent mass so it looks kinda like you have normal long hair from a distance.

Is your date human? If so, maybe go with a sexy black dress. You can adjust your proportions a bit to make sure you fill it out pleasantly.

ok. you need a shower, obviously. (also, wipe that bit of blood from your lip.)
any chance you can get a friend you trust to help you with preparations?

don't worry about hiding your.. enhanced biology. if they've got a problem with it then it's not going to work anyhow.

you're gonna want to wear something date-worthy. what kind of date are you expecting? a fancy dinner date and a casual coffee require different outfits.

can you tell us a little about them? or is it a blind date?

You are a terrifying military-trained bioweapon/universal-utility-construct, you can ramp up your impressiveness endlessly as you relax, but you want your first impression to instil a sense of your culture and civility that might otherwise be missed. Victorian gentleman is in right now, so that would be perfect. Get yourself a monocle and pocket-watch, a top-hat with a wedge missing for your righteous eye, and a nice suit with an impressive tail(to help hide your impressive tails, at first...). Oh, and grab some extra biomass to broaden your shoulders. Shoulder-padding makes everything better!

What would washing even do? She's partially fungus, some kind of meat-fungus hybrid. She might just absorb water and get all thick and mushy if her hair is more fungus than muscle.

... develop tiny little ganglia all across your surface that can detect dirt and bacteria, and then use them to remove all the dirt and smelly bacteria from youreslf, and then reabsorb them.

Also, take off that shirt and start thinking about how you are going to present yourself, You get to choose your proportions, and can possibly make some significant modifications if you are feeling... adventurous.

>Well the first step is to not work yourself up into a tizzy about it. That way lies mistakes, stress and further complications.
If only it was that easy! 'Mistakes, stress and further complications' sounds like a pretty good summary of Alice's life.

>Step one is hair. You're a shaggy mess! Tryin' to cut it yourself is a bad idea, so just shower, dry and brush it, and tie it up or something.
Shower time! It's been a while since Alice has had a long shower and she wonders why. This is nice, soaking in the heat and letting the water flow over her.

>You got a weird bit of space-drool goin' on.
Alice wipes the slime away. That seems to be getting to be more of a problem. Maybe she's not eating enough. Or too much.

>What would washing even do? She's partially fungus, some kind of meat-fungus hybrid. She might just absorb water and get all thick and mushy if her hair is more fungus than muscle.
Look it's fine, although maybe her hair's perking up a little too much from getting a good soak.

>Can you tell us a little about them? or is it a blind date?
It's a surprise.

>What kind of date are you expecting? A fancy dinner date and a casual coffee require different outfits.
Fancy-casual? It's not like there's anywhere too fancy here but she should make an effort to dress up a bit.

>Put on clothes that don’t have sad animals on them.
Alice thinks the staff is getting sick of the number of shirts she's gone though. The logos are getting weirder and weirder.

Alice dries off and attempts to get her hair under control. This is probably victory.

>You are a terrifying military-trained bioweapon/universal-utility-construct
None of those features sound particularly useful for a date.

>Victorian gentleman is in right now
Alice doesn't think it was ever in.

>You can't prepare with no energy. Grab a quick snack for the carb boost.
Well, she is hungry? Maybe she should?

>Remember to brush your teeth! All of your teeth.
Speaking of teeth, at some point her body seems to have settled on a biological crossbow being must-have as a safety blanket but this arm's not the same size as her other one. She should probably do something about that and...

>Spend biomass making yourself look nice. Enhance knockers, lip gloss, nails, legs, smile, the usual.

...uh, maybe think about some other stuff?

Alice still isn't exactly an expert on this and she can't conjure mass out of nothing either. So what should she tweak? Be specific.

Enhance. Knockers.

>>
No. 921772 ID: 10c408

Honestly? Take a few minutes to have a quick protein based meal that's on the small size. Then see if you can't shrink away your pointy nails for practice.

If that doesn't pan out, just trim them.

And don't enhance knockers. I'm serious, just don't. If anything, a major attempt at shapeshifting would be to even out the size disparity between your two arms.
>>

how... how do you not get shampoo in your flower?

>>921766
well about the arm. Can you shrink it? the crossbow thing might not be to big of a deal if you just were elbow length gloves to cover up your hands. That way you don't have to worry about trying to fiddle with them to much. But then you need to find something to wear that goes with elbow length gloves. Also don't know where you should put the extra mass you'd get from shrinking your arm.

But as for other things... what do you have laying around for beauty care produces? Cause maybe some highlights on the tips of your hair might look nice?

Your hair-flower's personality is markedly more emotionally open than your own. It's adorable.

Also, if you want to look 'sexy', just widen your hips slightly and marginally increase the weight of your breasts. Personally, don't think it matters that much, you're plenty rad as you are in your basic form.

By the way, you're trapped in an illusion by virtue of severe injuries sustained while fighting an insane cyborg salamander.

Ok, so, first: Wear a dress or a long shirt. You don't want to be too forward by letting your stomach-vagina show before it's time to use it.

As far as biomods? I'm thinking displacer-beast style back tentacles. You know, the kind that end in a flattened club with spikes on one side. Only instead of spikes, just more tentacles, only tiny.
Or you could go for wings. I think leafy wings would work for you, and give you a sort of fae appearance.

So! Who's the lucky date?
>>
No. 921866 ID: 99ed9b

Hmm, you look fine mostly, but the hand mandible is going to turn heads in a bad way. If they are most humanoid species that'll scare them. If you lack the control to close it up indefinitely and maybe pull some of the extended mass back into your torso, could you at least keep it... I dunno, closed while introducing yourself and getting to know your date. You can give them a little get to know you time and show them the mandible when you feel they are prepared for that.

How about instead of enhancing your breasts, you simulate human nipples on yours. Most humanoids like those and as I recall you no longer have any. Do you have normal human genitals these days? If the stomach maw is all you have that's something that might bother some people. It again, has a lot of teeth.

Hope your date is into tentacles...

Reduce knockers. You need that biomass for your scrawny arm, which needs bulking. Symmetry is for losers, but balance and force consistency is valuable...
The crossbow is good for ranged bio-weapon, don't be redundant.
An acid/enzyme sprayer would be a nice companion ranged weapon, with more convenience but less discipline.
Some sort of scissoring mechanism could help deal with armour at close range. You can usually kill once you have flesh-to-flesh contact.
An injector could help with hostile bioweapons, prisoner-taking, and minor armour-penetration if the needle is strong enough or the armour has weak-points-for-massive-damage. Electricity is a moderately-universal requirement for complex mobility. A non-reactive solution that disrupts electrical signals when at a certain concentration could non-lethally disable(briefly, but it doesn't take long to restrain a human whose arm stopped working) so long as it diluted prior to reaching a major nerve-cluster, while at higher dosages it would be lethal, or at least permanently disable whatever flesh it spread to until decontaminated.
I would go for the injector, sprayer, or scissors, in that order, depending upon what substances your body can synthesise. All of them should have appropriate bulk to blanace out your arms.

Or you could just grow a third arm and move your crossbow to your back for over-the-shoulder action.

Maybe you should put a safety on those. Or just wear sleeves long enough to cover them up. (Or Reimu-style half-sleeves that only start partway down your arm).

>enhance knockers
No no, safe that as a surprise to bust out of the date goes well.

>what else
Maybe put your hair up? Give your hair-tentacles some of those fancy hairpin chopsticks to hold. (Stylish, and a handy stabbing weapon or throwing needle in an emergency).

You know what's better than one biological crossbow? TWO biological crossbows! Then your arms will match. Alternatively, put a bone spike thrusting mechanism in the other arm for a quick close-range armor piercer. You can increase the mass of the arm to compensate for the recoil and thus match your arms that way.

I say your bust size is fine. Maybe a little more in your hips? Enhance your leg muscles for faster running and you'll kill two birds with one stone.
Also uh, get a chitinous eyepatch over your eyesocket so you don't have to have your hair covering it all the time.

Modify the size of your non-crossbow forearm so as to be symmetrical. Neumono are aggressive carnivores with broad regenerative capabilities and large hands in proportion to their bodies, but plenty of people seem to think they're cute, so clearly it can work.

Requisition a roguish eyepatch for your empty socket instead of just leaving hair over half your face. Should help emphasize the 'veteran space explorer' aspect, while downplaying the social anxiety. A first date is by definition a new experience, so you've got to make it clear you're open to that sort of thing, rather than hiding behind a curtain or only participating under protest.

>Girl, you beautiful as you are.
>>You don't have to change yourself to please no man. or woman. Or robot?
Alice is a slightly floral flesh-beast.

>Something to tweak though... hrmm. You have a pretty nice red pigment in places, do you think you could pull off something like lipstick?
Alice's mouth is an orthodontic nightmare and the red bits are her active surfaces, which do a good impression of a molecular chainsaw if she gets too excited.

>Go eat some fruit or something.
What a good idea. Alice has a selection because something something self discipline. She is going to eat fruit with her mouth like a real human being.

>Grow your other limbs out to match the big arm.
>Also, if you want to look 'sexy', just widen your hips slightly and marginally increase the weight of your breasts. Personally, don't think it matters that much, you're plenty rad as you are in your basic form.
A little bigger is better? Alice thinks she's heard that advice before. Right, this calls for more fruit.

>No no, save that as a surprise to bust out if the date goes well.
That pun better have been intentional.

>Reduce knockers. You need that biomass for your scrawny arm, which needs bulking.
Hmmm. That would require less fruit.

>But think how rude it'll be if you aren't able to finish what you get at the restaurant!

>Hmm, you look fine mostly, but the hand mandible is going to turn heads in a bad way. If they are most humanoid species that'll scare them.
>Maybe you should put a safety on those. Or just wear sleeves long enough to cover them up.
Alice can close it, there is a bit of a seam though. Maybe something long sleeved is going to be a good idea.

>How... how do you not get shampoo in your flower?

>I say your bust size is fine. Maybe a little more in your hips? Enhance your leg muscles for faster running and you'll kill two birds with one stone.
That's easy, about 80% of what Alice eats seems to go to her thighs. If she's chasing love, she supposes being able to run it to ground seems to make sense.

>Requisition a roguish eyepatch for your empty socket instead of just leaving hair over half your face. Should help emphasise the 'veteran space explorer' aspect, while downplaying the social anxiety.
Here goes. It gets temperamental if she covers it up too much.

>Alternatively, put a bone spike thrusting mechanism in the other arm for a quick close-range armor piercer.
What's that other saying? Love is a battlefield? Alice isn't sure how to make acid. Alice can't make weapons, that'd be... that's not how should she... excluded function... she feels a headache coming on. Alice should stick to tools, possibly ones capable of weapon-like effects!

>For the hair, try to treat it like a bonsai tree. Additionally, try to make it even. It still looks shaggy.
So it takes dozens of year to get it right and Alice probably isn't using enough guide wires?

>But as for other things... what do you have laying around for beauty care produces? Cause maybe some highlights on the tips of your hair might look nice?
Alice is pretty chemically resistant but she could try something? What colour?

>How about instead of enhancing your breasts, you simulate human nipples on yours. Most humanoids like those and as I recall you no longer have any. Do you have normal human genitals these days? If the stomach maw is all you have that's something that might bother some people. It again, has a lot of teeth.
Alice already has approximations of all of those things and no she hasn't been brave enough to try them out.

>Oh yeah and close up your torso-mouth. It's not useful and not pretty.
That's what clothes are for! Covering things up.

Alice has a lot of time left.
Alice is clean.
Alice is more or less bilaterally symmetrical.
Alice is tired.
Alice is stressed.
Alice is hungry.
Alice hasn't picked anything to wear.

love is NOT a battlefield. a love that requires fighting for is unhealthy to begin with. why would you even want to be with someone that doesn't want to be with you?

as for what to do:
1. eat something.
2. put on some music that you like.

Aww Alice, don't stress too much. It's just a blind date, and you are looking pretty hot. Even the stomach cloaca and breast vents look exotic instead of monstrous. You've managed with just some minor tweaks to become attractive to 1/2 the humanoids in the galaxy.

Pick a nice form fitting dress, something that leaves the upper chest exposed so the vents are visible. Bonus points if you can get something fancy that has an open bit on the stomach for the stomach maw too.

I was thinking red. I mean you kinda already got red "highlights" covering your body so it would blend in nicely I feel. Think of it as taking what you already have an making it your own thing if that makes any sense. Oh, maybe you could try and make one stand of hair blue as well to match your eyes, maybe place that strand of hair over the hair you usually have coving your right eye/eyepatch.

As for what to do next, I would defiantly say snack on some fruits to bring your hunger down.

As for what to wear... uh, hmm. Not going to lie, I'm thinking either a slightly baggy long sleeve shirt with a v-neck and some form fitting black pants if you want to dress up a little or a nice comfy form fitting shirt with a hoody over that with some comfy pants if you want to go casual. Both also make it so you can cover up your arms and still show off your figure

You rock that eyepatch, but if it is going to be a problem you could try sunglasses instead.
Is your date into mysticism? You could try to build a third eye...

A mid-thigh skirt seems liek it would interact poorly with her... tails? She could try something that billows out? Or... overlapping pleated sections, and knee-length for added heft. She could extend her tails between the panels while the pleats and overlap should mostly protect her modesty. Or she could just wear a kilt, nothing beats kilt.

Hey, uh, shut up.

Maybe she breathes out of these slots or something? Except Alice doesn't seem to need to breathe. Uh, anyway her red bits don't seem to enjoy confined environments.

>Aww Alice, don't stress too much. It's just a blind date, and you are looking pretty hot. Even the stomach cloaca and breast vents look exotic instead of monstrous. You've managed with just some minor tweaks to become attractive to 1/2 the humanoids in the galaxy.
Yeah, exotic! This is fine, everything is going to be fine.

>Bonus points if you can get something fancy that has an open bit on the stomach for the stomach maw too.
No.

>Does your old uniform still fit? Everybody loves a gal in uniform!
No it does not. Also Alice thinks it probably was thrown out or exploded or something.

>A mid-thigh skirt seems like it would interact poorly with her... tails? She could try something that billows out?
Ah, hmm, definitely something to think about. Let's see what she can rummage up.

>You want something that's casual but not too forward, and won't restrict your movement too much.
So a shirt, jacket and low cut pants to alleviate the tentacle-tail situation might work?

>Pick a nice form fitting dress, something that leaves the upper chest exposed so the vents are visible.
Maybe this dress is a bit tight? Alice isn't sure if she likes the accommodations made for the tentacle vent either. Too risque?

>I'm thinking either a slightly baggy long sleeve shirt with a v-neck and some form fitting black pants if you want to dress up a little.
Might be a little too casual but a loose shirt and tighter pants seems to work out alright?

What looks good? Any tweaks to be made?
>>

I feel like the dress is a little much for a first date but the other 2 look fine.

the jacket combo I feel works better for date wear but I kinda like the look of the loose shirt and tight pants as I feel it does a good job at showing off your figure while leave some room for the imagination. Plus it looks comfy.

The right is too casual and unfit for a date.

Now, just to be clear, are they going in expecting a regular human? Because, while still hot, you're markedly different than regular human girls. It would take something of an extremely open mind to accept you right off the bad without early warning.

So is your hair still just hair or do you have some control over it? Because might as well find a hair style now so you know how you want to put it once your ready to go. So I say find a hair style you like just to knock it out of the way and maybe go and take a little nap to de-stress and rest up.

Though I do have to ask, has the fruit been filling you up at all or no? While probably not a good idea to gorge yourself right now incase this turns out to be a diner date you still have some time before the thing even starts so if you can find some food that is actually filling you could probably make yourself a snack before taking a nap?

You know, a test? A process to determine what someone can reliably do? For example, going on a date with nothing going terribly wrong! You wouldn't think it'd be that difficult!

Alice! Calm down! You're losing control because you're looking at meat again! Turn away for a moment, it's not going anywhere. Seriously, you're drooling.

First change out of the fancy clothes into something expendable. You're certain to get splatter on whatever you wear.
Now that you've calmed down a little, why is it exactly that you've been avoiding meat? Is that reason still relevant today? If it is this might be a bad idea. Be honest with yourself here.
Two ways this could go; The meat satisfies your hunger or it Makes Things Worse. In your experience, which is usually the case?

Also, we have to remember not to go to a place that serves meat. This behavior is acceptable only when alone. If a vegetarian place can't be arranged, don't order meat and if the date wants to order meat, you'll have to ask them not to.
Meat makes you lose control, and losing control is really really bad, especially in front of other people.

Re-reading the logs, seems like the urge to eat is getting stronger as you eat more and you stop thinking clearly after eating. This is especially true when you're low on mass. How much mass are you at right now?

In any case, this meat is fucking with your head. Get it together! You're doing that thing where you've decided you need to eat and you're trying to justify it however you can. That is not how rational thought works. That is the opposite of how rational thought works.

Nope, eating addiction is something that actually exists and doesn't apply to everyone; just being dependent, or even enjoying it, isn't enough. The main difference, and the one that's most important right now, is compulsive behavior and lack of control.
Alice can't control herself when it comes to eating, and every time one of you suggests that she should eat something, she will take the excuse to eat.

It doesn't, not for her. Read the previous chapters again, her compulsion to eat actually gets worse the more she eats.

It'll be great, once she's out of this place. Or her date comes here? Maybe they're someone she knows! ... And then the trick is to make sure that they don't die! Or that she dies instead? No, that can't be right.

>Look for the most watched show on the market, that way it may give you a shared interest with your date.
The most watched show seems to be Status Report, some sort of medical drama. Alice doesn't want to lie around watching scientists moaning about some lady (or someone's pet?) dying.

>As for nap or show? why not find something to fall asleep to? Something good enough to entertain you but not capture your full attention... like reruns or something. Alice just keeps channel surfing, bits and pieces of action and drama and exot ads? She lies in a lull feeling like she's just dreaming. It's good to unwind a bit, but she's starting to feel restless. She should up be running, or moving about. Or perhaps hiding.

>How much mass are you at right now?
Too low, too low, critically low!

Alice gets up and finishes the last piece of meat on the platter. What's the last things she should try to do?

Alice is running out of time.

Ok, there's nothing wrong with that hair, it's a bit strange looking and that green is usually awful but the gradient you ended up with and your already strange hair work well together making it exotic instead of strange.

Just prepare yourself mentally. You're going to go outside, be around people, and talk about yourself. Talking should come easy, you have a plethora of grand adventure to draw on.
