Probably either Mike or Jerry. However I lean more towards it being mike. With Jerry’s injuries it’s likely that he doctors told him not to drive, and we’ve already seen him use public transportation anyway (or at least attempt to before he got beat up). So honestly I say mike.

As for how he got into a wreck, well I can’t exactly think of a motive for murder, and at this time we have no indication that it was murder other than this question. However the fact that this question was even asked shows that there might be reasonable doubt or the cops are lying to see if they can get Betty to spill more than she might want people to know, or give them more info to work with. But I have to admit that’s a very odd question to ask if they already told her it was an accident...

It seems the ghost only attacks you and your friends when you are all alone from what I can see.
