You have a mouth on you that I don't necessarily approve of. That won't do you any good in this kind of game.

Anyways, greetings. I am the CGM, Computerized Game Master, for those of you with a quaint intelligence compared to others. The game "Escape" refers to escaping a death game. You will be put through a number of challenges with others in a number of death games, to which if you survive and escape the facility, you "win".

This "Quest" has a number of mechanics that move it forward in an RPG-esque style. So, would you like to start the Tutorial, or would you like to skip it?

Good choice.

I'm going to go through this all in one go so make sure you are paying attention got it? If you do I MAY let you play the Director's Cut. MAY.

In this death game you will be surrounded by others who are trapped just like you. In order to progress, you need to communicate with these individuals to either befriend or kill them.

Either way, you start up a conversation by talking to them. You must use your best judgement to decide what will build up your friendships in the best way possible. Saying something stupid or neglecting their pitiful feelings can cause your affection to lower. Affection with a character is judged through the top right hearts.

Next is damage. Each character has a damage bar, these will grow throughout the challenges that are provided through these death games. Once the bar is filled, the character dies. At any point in time, if you type "attack" and "attack" get's the majority vote, you can harm the character in attempt to kill them. It is good to note that they can counterattack if they are not dead, which can lower your health. There is a way to automatically kill a character though. If the character is befriended, and you choose to "attack" them, it results in a "betrayal kill" which will automatically kill the character. Finding a balance between befriending and killing your friends and enemies is crucial to survival in Play Escape.

Finally, we move onto the "freedom gauge". In Play Escape, you are forced to choose based on choices that are given in the white text box. For each choice you submit, the gauge goes up. Once your freedom gauge is full, you will be notified, and allowed to submit a "free response" where you type ANYTHING and it has the possibility of happening, even killing a character in one go. When your freedom gauge is full, each response that is generated will be put through a randomizer and the top one will be the act enacted.

These are the core mechanics of this quest. Though, blabbing about it in a wall of text is really inconvenient, so I'll give you a few responses to go at it. Then we can begin if you are ready.

Can other characters betray us? What benefit does having friends give? What will we be doing when not in a conversation?

That was actually a pretty good explanation, so thanks for that.

>>
No. 702972 ID: 2ccbb3

So the hearts are a conversion/capture meter, the right bar is the enemy's health bar, and the left bar is the limit breaker, which in our case allows us to suggest ANYTHING and it has a small chance of happening, we can kill enemies that we have befriended, but we get marked as Backstabbers.

Not sure where our player character's stats are. Other than that, let's get this party started!

You aren't going to interact with the doll? How rude. He just wanted to make a friend.

Anyways, yes now that I look at all of it, this "quest" does seem more like a dating sim or virtual novel instead of an RPG. Oh well, minor details.

Characters cannot betray you, however, they can end a friendship with you or break your progress based on your actions with them. Being friends with a character will influence them to do decisions that you want, look through their inventory, as well as give you the opportunity to kill the character when the chance is given.

Something I may have glazed over as well is that your actions, decisions, choices, thoughts, etc, will be in the white text box. Whereas character dialog, my commands, game information, that all will end up here.

Well you all have been good enough I suppose so I'll give you the choice, especially since you hurt the poor doll's feelings.

You can start now with a pre-determined character, or create your own. Keep in mind that the pre-determined character will have a selected gender, eye color, etc.

What is your deal with that doll? The game you are about to play is a death game, not a 'hug people around and expect to get anywhere' game.

One last step before we begin, you must name this character. Either you can provide a name which will be randomly selected, or you can just choose to automatically name the character a default name. Then we can begin.

In my experience those things are far from mutually exclusive! In fact, people tend to crave intimacy even more than usual in dire situations.

CGM: "Well then it's about time we got this show on the road. Welcome one and all, to our fabulous little game. You may call me the CGM. I am the being that exists on the monitor in this room located to the north opposite of where you all are facing in unison. Now the reason why you are all faced in such a lovely array, is because you are all centered on a grid where if you move, you will be electrocuted and will die. Now one of you is lucky enough to go around and chat with a few friends. Isn't that just great? I want to see five conversations while I set up the game. Choose wisely. Oh, and, don't think about escaping any time soon. The two red doors are sealed and will not open until I give the command."

CGM: I randomized your responses.

[You ask the woman "...You do know that you are legally allowed to adopt orphans, right?" She appears to be in thought as if going over this before.]

???: "Well yes, I did think of adoption. However, I wasn't sure if they would let me adopt due to my... er... exotic animals. They may have considered animals like Silky dangerous and I would not be able to adopt. Besides... It just feels unnatural to take another mother's child. Doesn't it?"
>>
No. 704210 ID: 02422f

There are a lot of kids who could use a mother. I doubt they would consider being loved and cared for unnatural.

Being a mother is about making a difference in the world, in someone's life. You could still do that.

[You tell the woman that there are plenty of kids in the world and in this game alone who need a mother figure to rely on. The point of being a mother is not that the child shares your blood, but rather that you impact the child in a positive way, sending them down the right path. She appears conflicted at first but then nods.]

EMOKI: "That... Well... You're right. I suppose I'm just being selfish. Being a mother would not be about that. There are children in this world who need someone that they could consider their parent if they don't have one. Even in this death game, it appears children were dragged into it, and I should not be crying over my own child but rather tend to them. That is what any good human being would do in this case. Thank you. My name is Emoki. This is really a different way to approach and look at the world. If there is anything I can do to help you, please do not hesitate to ask."

[Your thoughts and motivation helped Emoki out of her depression! You have gained two hearts with Emoki! Emoki will now follow your decisions with good faith, and will share inventory.]

CGM: Oh that reminds me actually. There are three options that aren't shown in your regular speech menu. If you type "Attack", you will attack the character in front of you. If you type "Item" you can share, trade, or compare items if your compassion is high enough. Finally, if you type "Date" you can go on a date with a character that has full compassion. Dating can be explained later, but for now, make use of your item and attack options.

[You ask Emoki about her animals, curious as to what classifies as exotic and asking how many she may own.]

EMOKI: "Yes! I actually have a number of exotic animals. Though I treat them almost like family of a sorts, odd as that may sound. Like Silky, a tiger that I domesticated, so he wouldn't hurt a fly. Well. Maybe. But he is well trained around other human beings and would never hurt them... Aside from that a few birds and a snake are in my possession. Though I must be honest, I take much more favor in my little kitten"

CGM: Hate to burst your bubble, but it's still only the first game. Neither of you have items yet, but rest assured, after this game you will have quite a few at your disposal. I will not give a total number of games, but the idea is to be on top, as there will only be one winner. Per each game, you will have challenges that will measure your wit and your skill. I have gathered information about each of you, so after you have one a game and go to bed, you will be given a key to a hotel room that was personalized off of your backstory and also has any personal items you need.

What you will need to know is that everyone here has a story, some of you will be chummy little friends, and others hell-bent on killing you to get to the top. So be careful with who your friends are. As explained before, I am the game master. Every week I will be here on this monitor and you all will be put in this room. ELVIRA: "What if we refuse to vote? Or if there is a tie? Or if we vote for you?"

CGM: "Voting for me will result in automatic death. Refusing to vote will result in automatic death, however, if you want to be lazy, there is a random option for everyone besides our special case among the crowd. That will just randomize your vote to one that someone else voted for. If there is a tie, depending on how good everyone was during the game, it will either result in two deaths or a randomly generated one. Voted deaths will be handled by me, though before they die, I'd give off a list of who voted them so they can look them in the eye one last time. Okay question time is up. ELVIRA: "Excuse me... are you trying to lift the box?"

???: "Yes."

[His voice is calm and quiet, but it's obvious he is exhausted.]

ELVIRA: "Um. Why? It can only be opened from the top, and aside from that we have to find a riddle to open it."

???: "I am well aware. I looked every corner of the box and I can't find the riddle anywhere, so it must be underneath it. I have to open the box as quickly as possible... someone is in that suit that needs to be let out."

???: "Heehee~!! Silly boy. You can't even lift a little box? That's kiiiinda lame~!"

ELVIRA: "We can all work together to find the riddle. After all, that is the goal of a team isn't it?"

Pushing it probably easier than lifting, and it would tell us if it was fixed to the floor or too heavy too move at all pretty quick.

>Examine the suit for an inscription or note of the riddle since it couldn't be found on the box.
Yeah, the creepo didn't say the riddle would actually be on the box. Might have been misdirection.

If none of that works, we could try a group effort to move the box, instead of one person.

B2: "Whatever... I'm keeping my eye on you."

ALYWARD: "You both have a point. It's hard to trust people you have just met, especially considering the circumstances. Regardless, we are all in this together, and that is how it will remain for some time. Perhaps we can try to make new friendships out of this, or at least know who to be suspicious over or who our enemies are. I don't even know any of your names aside from Key and Lucifer. The names Sunny~ I just like going out in my Hummer and delivering for my job at Pizza Hut. Really that's all there is I guess, I'm not that interesting. Ooh! Right! There's also my little sister! We hang out a lot~ Well anyways, as I was saying, you seem like a good person. Consider me your friend!"

[You gained one heart with Sunny by doing what you were supposed to do! He seems pretty relaxed heading off with B1 and talking with her.]

[You have some left over time before the game ends, but not too much. Probably two conversations worth. It appears that people have spread out into their own little groups. You can choose who you'd like to converse with or get to know better. The names of each individual are what you know of them, which is why most of them are a letter and a number. Hearts are displayed if it helps you know your decision.]

//TUTORIAL: Friend of a Friend and Statistics//

CGM: Since you didn't screw up and are surviving I'm pretty impressed to say the least. So I'll give you some pointers. Some people by befriending them, you will gain hearts with others. That is because they are a friend of your new friend. This is both great for strategy and for gaining stats. What are stats? Every character has a stat sheet, these include their Strength, Vitality, Agility, Intelligence, Cunning, and Luck. By becoming better friends with characters, you gain a point in their highest stat. EX. Emoki's highest stat is her vitality, so you gained 1 point in vitality. I'll get more into detail about this later, but know that the stats are fairly important.

Now back to the friend of friend thing, that is a double edged sword. EX. If you became friends with Blood, that guy that typically nobody liked, you'd probably loose friendship with people who hated him. It is a good plan to figure out who you can combo off of by paying attention to character relations. Okay that's all I have peon. Have fun communicating with the worms.

NAO: "Ugh... well to explain it basically, my mother is a nut about anime. She married my father just because he was Japanese. I think the terminology here would be a weaboo-"

HOLLY: "H-Hey! There's nothing wrong with being a weaboo! That's really cool that she took her love for anime that far!! You're like a living breathing Otome boy! It's really cool and, o-oh um.. sorry, continue..."

NAO: "In any case, she decided to name me Nao, off of some 'boy's love' game. She also thought it'd be great to dye my hair pink, like the character I was named after. Anyways, I'm not really open to discussing my past much more than that. Nothing against you, it's just classified. You seem like a good enough person, so I guess I can put trust in that..."

ELVIRA: "Okay, and next would be you Hisaki, why do you feel the need to place yourself below others? And what is with your mask?"

HISAKI: "My master gave me my mask. It is a symbol of his ownership of me, and I am not to loose it at any time or else I will be punished. I only put myself below Master Nao and Master Holly because that is where I am hierarchically. I am a slave to the Kaida family. You have shown a great deal of kindness to Master Holly, I thank you for that Master Elvira."

[You ask why he wants to be voted and why he wants to die. His head slumps further into his legs and he lets out a meek sigh]

A1: "Nobody every gets it... Why? Oh why are you so depressed? Stop being sad. Stop being depressed. You have people who love you be happy. You're being selfish. I can't help it. There are just some people who are born the way they are. I just want to die. Every day I just want to die. I can't change it even if I try. Then people come along and ask why I am depressed and I can't answer them because I don't know myself. I was just born this way. Is that reason enough for you? Can't people just accept that and let me die..."

[He slumps down more. A1's Mental Stability has dropped to a point that an AUTO-KILL chance is now available.]

CGM: Oh yeah to explain that a bit. You can't kill outside of the games, and during some games there is a limit to how much you can kill. When a character trusts you fully, has lost all Physical Strength, or has lost all Mental Stability, you will unlock the BETRAYAL/AUTO-KILL function. This allows you to attack the character and kill them without taking any damage back and allows you to do so even if the characters overall stats are higher than yours. Each character has it though how hard it is to unlock varies among them.

Anyways, for this game the kill count is 5 MAX. So you can kill if you choose to do so. All you have to do is type "Kill" or "Attack" or something related to those two and it will enable this function.

Don't bother killing him yet, if we need to vote someone off then it's better to have it be someone who wants to die anyway. Plus killing him like this would make others trust us less.

Don't bother trying to cheer him up, clinical depression doesn't work that way. And he's probably already heard everything we could think to say.
"Are you absolutely certain that you want to die? Do you find that there is literally nothing at all of value to you in your life? Is there zero chance that you'll come out of this depression? Once you're dead you can't come back to life. If you really want to die I'll vote for you, but this isn't a decision to be made lightly."

>So you can kill if you choose to do so.
Even if the idea of killing a depressed kid wasn't abhorrent, I'm sure being witnessed murdering said kid in front of everyone would be great for our own chances of survival.

>I don't know myself. I was just born this way. Is that reason enough for you? Can't people just accept that and let me die...
I don't know. It's a hard thing for people to accept and understand, especially when you don't understand it fully yourself.

If no one knows what the problem really is, how can they keep from wondering if there might be a way to help? Or worse, might have been a way.

[A pause for a moment, he seems reluctant, but eventually comes out with an answer.]

A1: "Yes. I am sure. There is no life here for me anymore... Why wait for an eventual death rather than go for the immediate way out of this place..."

[It appears your words did mean something to the boy, as he seems much more hesitant now. If you feel the conversation cannot move any further then voting will begin.]

I think far more useful would by asking him what lead him to feeling like this- whether it's a decision he's come to based on some past experiences or something. It sounds like he's had plenty of people just try to talk him out of it, meaning if there's any chance of success it'll probably be in doing something actually proactive to solve the root problem if there is one.

But on the other hand, in this environment maybe it's better not to try. If we're lucky or clever maybe we can get more people out alive, but it sounds like the maker of this game intends only one person to get out- and if that's true, unless we plan to sacrifice ourselves at the end to get HIM out, we would be giving him hope just to betray it in the future- which seems almost cruel. On the other hand, this IS cruel, and no one here should be giving up without a fight.

Also, I just realized there's the possibility he's just acting- that he doesn't feel it's his place to decide anyone else's fate here and this is self-sacrifice. But that may be a bit of a stretch.

In any case it's worth keeping in mind: no one has died YET. That means it's possible no one will, or has to. That, and knowing that any death ultimately is attributed to the one who created this situation in the first place, is enough to try to get him to not submit to death so easily.

[TUTORIAL: VOTING]

CGM: Oh hey I almost forgot our special case. Okay so Elvira's votes are a little different then other characters. I'll explain both.

Character votes are based around their friendships and ties. For example, Alyward would NEVER vote Lucifer, but he may vote someone like Blood or Lillia since he doesn't know them.

Elvira is a special case because her votes are gathered from tallying up all suggested votes, and her vote is MUCH more powerful than any other person's one vote. Elvira also has a strength among friends, meaning that if she votes one person, those who have a full heart or more are more likely to side with her on that vote. On the opposite end of the spectrum, those who she has crossed can vote for her as well. To make things fair, you may only vote for those you have interacted with in the past.

Okay. Tutorial over. All the names have been revealed. Just type who your vote goes to.

[TUTORIAL: After-Game]

CGM: After each game there will be some down time for the night. These after game sessions take place in the lobby, however, they do not last forever because your character will need to sleep eventually. You are limited to 5 conversations in the hotel before needing to sleep, if you want less than that just have Elvira return to her room and she will go to sleep.

In the hotel you can choose which floors to go to. There is a lobby, which is labeled M. The entertainment rooms are labeled E. The bathroom (which are co-ed) are labeled B, and the rest of the floors contain bedrooms for each character. You cannot access these rooms without a key, and each character was given their room key in the lobby. However, if you try to knock, you can see if someone would let you in or interact with you at the door.

Elvira's room is the final place you will visit in the night after your five conversations. Okay. That's about it. Tutorial over. Switching floors will not penalize you out of a conversation. You can do this as much as you'd like to see who are all on each floor. The bottom right of the screen will display what floor you are on, take note some numbers are missing. That will come into play later. On bedroom floors, characters rooms will be labeled with their face on the door. If that face is colored, they are active and alive in the game. If it is grayed out, they have died. After-Games do not run on the freedom meter.

[You are in the lobby. You got your key last and it was late 10 minutes. Now there are only the new characters who were in the armor as well as some familiar faces left. There is also the little boy you met rolling around on the carpet.]

Bottom right appears to be a fancy dining set for two, a fake candle burns brightly and menus are even on the table seats.

Bottom Left is simply a room labeled XXX. Some lights are flashing from the door crack...]

BARTENDER: "I don't care! It's not like they are paying me!"

[You decide to ask a little more, asking for a drink of wine before questioning both of them.]

ELVIRA: "So, what's your name? I don't think I saw you in the death game.."

RAIO: "Name's Raio. Nah, I wasn't in the game. See, they took me and told me that they would release me and my boys if we acted as waiters and bartenders for the time being. Of course it will probably switch off weekly I assume."

ELVIRA: "So then you are being held here against your will?"

RAIO: "Basically. I don't mind though, get to spot a few cuties like you after all."

[Raio winks and the other man sighs]

ELVIRA: "What did you do before the game? Do you remember how you got here?"

RAIO: "Ran a detective agency called the Trouble Boys. We were a good group of ass-kickers, and rivals to that guy down over there... hehe. Guess there's no hard feelings in a place like this though, right Harold?"

[Harold nods shrugging it off.]

ELVIRA: "Harold? Nice to meet you. What do you mean by rivalry?"

RAIO: "Oh Harold was a cop before he became a detective. He got fired from the force cause of somethin... I forget exactly, anywho, he wanted to keep doing what he loved so he became a freelance detective agency, but mine was already popularized before his could keep good footing."

ELVIRA: "I see. So then do some of your boys run that sex shop?"

RAIO: "Nope. The weird computer dragon has these robot guys running places. They look totally human but you can tell they are robots cause like they only know how to do a few things. They are very by the book too."

ELVIRA: "So Harold, you weren't with my group during the death game... How did your team do?"

[Harold doesn't respond.]

ELVIRA: "Um... I mean you probably did good since there was no deaths... Any interesting people?"

[Harold doesn't respond.]

RAIO: "Eh don't mind him toots. He's just a quiet type of guy. So since you're down here... why don't I show ya around? Maybe share a few drinks."

HAROLD: "You don't know her age."

RAIO: "Tch!"

ELVIRA: "Do you really think laws like that can survive in a place like this?"

[Everyone is quiet for awhile, then Harold takes a deep smoke from his cigarette.]

HAROLD: "There's law everywhere kid. Even here. Sometimes, law is bad. It's what makes us hurt and kill. Other times, law is necessary. It's what keeps us in check. You may not think there is any law here, but there is. So yes. I do think law can survive here, it's what's keeping this thing running."

[Harold seems to be warming up to you. You try to question him again to get more out of the conversation.]

ELVIRA: "Elvira. That's my name. I'm not sure if you knew. So how DID you're team do?"

HAROLD: "Fine I suppose. The one who got voted off was on my team, so I suppose we were the worst then. Poor sucker."

ELVIRA: "He wasn't a very good man. I talked with him bef-"

HAROLD: "Nobody is a good man. Nobody is a good woman either. Some are worst, but there is always something that makes em tick. You could tell with that sucker. He smiled the whole time, acting like death was just another game. But you can tell. The look in his eyes... He wanted another chance. He wanted someone to talk with. He was holding something back. Stuff like that is why I joined the force. Make the world a better place? No. That can't happen. But seeing how people tick and judging whether they deserve another chance... now that's interesting."

ELVIRA: "So then... who did you vote?"

HAROLD: "Blood. There's no doubt he was a criminal. If I had to choose between an innocent kid and a ruffian, I'd choose the ruffian. But that's not the case I'm trying to make. If I had the choice to talk with either the ruffian or the kid, I'd choose the ruffian, cause I like a challenge."

ELVIRA: "Interesting. Well you are a detective, so, before the game did you remember any missing person incidents? Like maybe a lead up to this?"

HAROLD: "No. Though two kids I had a case on are in this game. If you look all around there are all kinds of people connected in weird ways that you wouldn't expect. My guess is that this game is a spider web connecting each and everyone of us to something. Linking humanity together."

ELVIRA: "Doesn't that sound kind of cheesy?"

HAROLD: "Kid, when you do the shit I do for so many years, everything seems cheesy."

[He chuckles]

ELVIRA: "Well I guess that's a start. Raio, how long have you been here? Were we the first?"

RAIO: "Yeah. As far as I know. I've been told that we've been kept here for a week. Oh they did say we were the most recently taken, so I mean if you want to go off of that!"

ELVIRA: "That's good. I'm glad to know that there are people like you and cops like-"

HAROLD: "I'm not a cop."

ELVIRA: "Oh. Right. Well, how did you get fired from the force anyways?"

[There is a long pause. No one says a word. Harold takes in a smoke and looks off into the distance.]

[Elvira asks Lillia some questions. Her color seems to be messing up and she is vibrating intensely, Elvira doesn't notice.]

ELVIRA: "Yes, that's me. No need to sound nervous over a name, after all, nobody here really knows each other so it's natural to be a little forgetful. It was nice talking to you, and I did say I would come back so of course I'd be back."

LILLIA: "Huh? OH! That's right you did! I promised I would talk more if you did! Haha! Oh silly me forgetting things again!"

ELVIRA: "So how are you holding up? Did your team do well?"

LILLIA: "Me? Oh I am fine! Still feeling... uh.. empty? no that's not the right word... uh.. Never-mind! Our team did good! I wasn't really a part of it that much though... I tried to be! But nobody really noticed I existed again... Haha!"

[YOU, decide to ask Lillia some questions of your own. You ask her about her unfinished state, if she can break the fourth wall, and why she changes sizes]

LILLIA: "Oh... Oh! Oh!!! You figured it out huh? Well uh, let me explain myself! I did promise to if you came back, though I wasn't expecting you to show up honestly! I mentioned earlier how it would be better to talk to the other characters in this game before me as a start, well that's because I'm technically not on the roster. The writer of the game drew over 100 different characters to put in it, some at different times and others right away. This batch now is called the original batch since it's all the characters that came in immediately. Well... I was sketched to come in the original batch... but I was never finished. There are beautiful detailed biographies and stories written about each character and how or why they act the way they do, but nothing for me... The only reason I have a name is because my file was named that! Haha! Um anyways... that's why it may not be a good idea to associate with me... I really offer nothing good to this game...

Yes, I can break the fourth wall. I don't know why, I just can. I realize I'm not even talking to the writer right now but instead some people who have control over Perso- er, "Elvira". It's nice to meet all of you!

OH! The changing sizes! Haha! Due to me being unfinished some... uh... random stuff tends to happen to my sprites and drawings of me... My sprites change sizes, my overworld sprite has no color, and as you can see now, my colors aren't neat. Just a glitch because me being a nobody I suppose! Ehehe...

Anyways... I'm probably useless to you... I mean... I know a lot about this game if that helps? Eh... It probably doesn't... Plus I don't want to ruin your fun time! All the mysteries and games and stuff... If I ruined that it wouldn't be much of a quest would it?"

The lives of fictional people don't matter much, but in order for this to be fun we have to play as if they do. >I'm not even talking to the writer right now but instead some people who have control over Perso- er, "Elvira".
Elivra, protest that even if, in some larger cosmic sense, this is all a game and you're being guided by outside forces, you're still a person! I mean, if Lillia is while incomplete, you should be, being... whatever you are.

(Actually, if you're both mechanistically / narrative unique in the group- Elivra as the PC, and Lillia as self-aware npc, that's something you have in common).

>I'm probably useless to you... I mean... I know a lot about this game if that helps?
That actually could help, a lot. Everyone else has been dumped in blind.

And even if you didn't know anything special, you have a unique advantage. If no one notices you, they can't vote for you. You're free to try stuff without the risk of reprisal or upsetting anyone.

>Plus I don't want to ruin your fun time! All the mysteries and games and stuff... If I ruined that it wouldn't be much of a quest would it?
You kind of want to ruin your own fun time. Puzzles and mysteries are nice and all, and so's getting to know people. But getting people killed for some sick whatever's amusement isn't fun. It was hard enough trying to make the best bad decision with the last vote. I don't know if I can forgive myself if I don't try to stop that from happening again.

Please, will you help me? You can be as real as you want to be. Maybe the rest of us were created for this game, but if you're right, you were born without a purpose, like a normal person. A normal person who can choose what to make of themselves.

...also you're a person who's cute.

[You tell Lillia that it isn't a game for the characters. That each of them convey emotion in some way so that they almost feel real even if they are not.]

LILLIA: "Ah... Th-that's true! Oh no that's really true! This quest builds off of characters that all are essentially a new type of person with completely new characteristics... I wouldn't want that to go to waste! Um... But... it wouldn't be fun to spoil you... Um... uhh..."

[You bring up the fact that you don't want to break the game entirely, just to know a few things. And that Elvira, since she can see Lillia, can be her way to have a good fun time as well.]

LILLIA: "Oh alright alright! I give in! I'll help you out the best I can without ruining the experience for you... So... I'll be like a guide book! Kinda.. Um.. Is that right? Anyways, I'll give you hints and tips outside of the actual survival games!

Since this quest is so open and vague... It has a multitude of different endings that all are very different! If you'd like to know how you are doing on a current quest route you can ask me for Route Guidance. I'll tell you most of the endings I know without spoiling anything and give you hints on how to get on a certain route.

If you ask me about Elvira's Stats I can give you her overall accumulated stat count before or after death games in case you need it!

If you ask me about Friendship Advice, I can give you advice on characters you are struggling to get hearts with, b-but be careful! If I do that too much CGM will get suspicious and probably try to off those characters first! I'd say three hints is a good amount before CGM will try to off those characters... m-maybe?

If you have any other questions about the game you can ask me... and if they aren't bad I'll answer as much as I know! I just won't spoil each survival game so you can still have fun interacting with each individual and unlocking puzzles! I-if you want!

Oh! And I almost forgot! I-if you ever just want to build my friendship up with Elvira or talk about personal things... just have Elvira chat with me! Simple as that. Um... I hope this helps! Together we can beat this thing!! Probably. Is there anything you want to know now?"

[You decide to question Lillia about the Stats Mechanic as well as what characters bring up what stats and what stat just was brought up from gaining a heart with her. You also decide to question what doing sidequests can do and if it will improve character's heart counts.]

LILLIA: Oh! The stats? They are pretty simple really! Each character has a stat that they are much better in compared to other stats. Their overall stat poll brings up their best stat when you befriend them. I can't really tell you which ones bring up which stats as that would be really complicated... but there will be something to help with that later! As for side-questing, yes that does increase a character's heart count if you do it right! Oh! Um... I'm flattered you want to know which stat I brought you up by (It's luck by the way), but the second heart doesn't give you a stat. The first and third heart does, however, the second heart allows you to share your inventory with another character. So now you can look in mine! Yay! I think we should look for writing supplies for the boy we met before. If we don't see any wandering around, we befriended the barman, and the wait staff might have access to notepads for taking orders and such.

Do we have access to the numbered floors to see who could be there? It doesn't look like we know where everyone is.

If not, the big group of unknown people on floor M sounds like a good idea.

[It appears that both your inventory and the numbered floors cannot be accessed right now. These appear to be features for the next games. Either way, you decide to head over to the larger group in the lobby. Approaching them appears to be a big of a fight going on.]

LONG HAIRED BOY: "You want to say it again? You're really pissing me off."

GREEN HAIRED MAN: "I'm only stating facts. You won't get by in a game if you try to keep introverted and quiet the whole time~ especially not if you are some shrimp like he is."

LONG HAIRED BOY: "You're one to talk."

[It appears the two are fighting. The red headed woman sighs rolling her eyes, while the boy with the purple jacket appears to be clutching something nervously his eyes focusing between the two.]

[You walk up to the ginger and lower your voice down to a whisper, nudging him a little]

ELVIRA: "What are you holding onto? Oh and um why are they fighting?"

???: "um... it's a ring. See?"

[He shows you a wedding ring quickly then holds onto it yet again. He seems a little skittish around you. He readjusts his attention to the fight.]

???: "The green haired one... Toxic I think... He said something that infuriated Firin."

TOXIC: "Look if you want to scrap we can scrap here and now, all I'm stating is what I believe to be the facts."

FIRIN: "Scrap? The hell are you some sort of sissy posh? It's fight dumbass."

TOXIC: "Well I seem to know more about the word then you in general, considering I actually have some battle scars while you're just a kid with anger issues."

[Firin kicks Toxic in the gut getting super pissed.]

If we're gonna stop the fight, I think it has to be done with words, not physically breaking it up.

"Do either of you think you're impressing anyone with this posturing? You're sure not getting anywhere with each other, and it only takes a quick look at the faces in here to see you're not doing too well with your audience either.

If you really want to fight about what playstyles help you here, it sure doesn't seem like this is one of them."

[You attempt to break the fight up by pushing the two of them out of the way. However, since Elvira has 0 strength, it doesn't hurt either of them when you push them. Instead you kind of just get in-between them until Firin let's go, squishing their faces.]

ELVIRA: "There! Now listen, there are plenty of opportunities to die in a DEATH GAME, so let's try to keep the fighting to a minimal okay? No need for anyone to get hurt, and your fighting isn't impressing anyone either."

[Firin seems to want to say something, but holds it knowing Elvira is right. Toxic simply laughs and nods a little.]

TOXIC: "And who are you exactly?"

ELVIRA: "Elvira is my name. Now, what caused this fight to happen?"

FIRIN: "He pissed me off."

ELVIRA: "Stunning."

TOXIC: "Ahem, I merely commented on how his friend, er Esa was it?, is not fit for a game like this. He simply wishes to stand back and stay quiet, where in a game like this making allies and enemies is the way to go."

FIRIN: "You sound like a complete jackass, not only that but you were criticizing him for not wanting to talk about that ring. There's nothing wrong with it you asshole."

TOXIC: "Someone is defensive."

ELVIRA: "Enough. Quit biting at each other it won't lead to anything."

[Firin is growing generally more pissed off while Toxic smirks laughing at his attitude. Esa appears to be watching from afar, holding his ring.]

Do you any of honestly think anyone is made for a death game?!
Firin, breath for a minute and think for a spell. His comment might have been unnecessary but it wasn't insulting nor did it warrant this reaction.
Toxic, what's with the eye patch and why are you instigating bro? I understand you don't have to listen to a word I say, but could you please consider other's feeling before saying things?

If someone were made for this game they'd have to be pretty messed up. (Ignore the irony of that statement)

Distract them with conversation. Ask the guy about his eyepatch. Comment about the seeming epidemic of heterochromia.

Staying back and letting all the talkative, social and combative idiots kill each other/ get killed is a perfectly valid option, really. In fact, it may be worth noting that, as it is impossible to vote for a person you havent met yet, players who refrain from being actively social, while giving no reason to attack them in-game, are likely to survive longer. If toxic is going to spout game theory, he really ought to take that into account.

But of course If he were as wise as his smugness suggests, he would have though of that already. Perhaps he has some other game he is playing at?
>>

Ask Firin about his hair. Ask Toxic if the bandage on his eye is from a "scrap". Ask Esa why he doesn't want to talk about the ring. Where did that other girl go?

[You try to calm the two down with conversation asking them questions. Esa appears to stay at a comfortable distance, and the girl is leaning against a pillar not seeming to pay attention or care.]

ELVIRA: "Nobody is made for a death game. And nothing says Esa has the wrong idea of not interacting with anyone. What makes you so sure that he isn't capable on his own?"

TOXIC: "Hahaha, oh that is cute! There are people made for everything my dear, and I am one of those who is a survivor. I do whatever I can to come out on top, which is why my gang, the Raven's Claw, is one of the most notorious gangs where I come from, and as leader, I keep to it. I was merely observing a detail I found, I want to have fair competition in a place like this, not pushovers."

FIRIN: "I'll push you over you little.."

ELVIRA: "Easy. What's your deal? He isn't being all that bad."

FIRIN: "Being smug is a trait that I find un-resourceful. Those who can't offer anything to me or the people around me are as good as dead meat."

ELVIRA: "Guh.. this isn't getting anywhere. Here, let's calm down and talk, get to know each other better instead of being pissy and getting no where. I'm Elvira, let's start with you Toxic, what's the deal with that eyepatch?"

TOXIC: "Hmhmhm. A good question indeed. As mentioned before I am the leader of a gang. We had a pretty big goal to take a princess hostage and demand the Duke money for her back, however, as it turns out, she was pretty crafty herself. She used a shard off the ground to cut her bindings and successfully rid me of one eye. Unfortunately she got away, as I was pretty much blinded by blood."

FIRIN: "Kidnapping. See? Plenty a reason to be rid of him."

TOXIC: "Come now, the past is the past and this is the present. I am useful in a place like this in spite of my past actions, therefor, should not be wasted."

ELVIRA: "You don't have to be smug about it, but you really shouldn't go off criticizing others. Now Firin, what about you? Your hair seems interesting enough to start with, that and you are another of the people in this game with heterochromia."

FIRIN: "My hair is this way cause I like it this way. What the fuck's wrong with that? And as for that, isn't it obvious? They are pulling unique and interesting people into this game to see how they fare against each other. Heterochromia is interesting so they pulled more in."

[It appears Esa and the woman will not budge and will probably need to be talked one on one.]

(can we try to sound less condescending? I didn't mean for us to be so obvious in breaking up the fight through distraction.)

You'd both do well to avoid making enemies, the goal of this game isn't to kill people, it's to avoid being killed yourself. (Maybe we shouldn't say this? It might be best to avoid telling others our strategies for winning... Whatever.) So where are the both of you from?

He seems more than a little arrogant but at least he is defending a friend (?) At this point it probably escalated beyond that.

Ask then how the game went for them. Esa was the only on from the group before the game so maybe it would be a good idea to know what masks they were if we end up beeding it for another game.

ELVIRA: "Wait, Firin, weren't you just criticizing Toxic for judging Esa?"

FIRIN: "He is cocky about it. I am kept to myself for the most part. I know what I consider to be valuable and what isn't, I just don't express it."

???: "So you're a hypocrite."

[The woman walks up, apparently listening the entire time.]

FIRIN: "No I am not."

???: "Sure you are. You just admitted to it."

[Toxic snickers. You decide to move the conversation.]

ELVIRA: "Well... either way, it's best not to avoid making enemies. Maybe we could all just be making friends? Actually a topic of interest is that you all were in those suits right? So then how did each of your teams do?"

TOXIC: "Haha~ Poorly. Mine took forever."

???: "Good all things considering. Though your team finished before mine did I'm pretty sure."

FIRIN: "I was the first out."

Not necessarily true. Remember, you can only vote for people you know. The less people who know you, the safer you are in elimination votes.

...although there's a limit to how effective this can be for anyone who doesn't have a magic ignore-me aura like Lillia.

FIRIN: "That's stupid. What do we call you then?"

???: "I don't care."

TOXIC: "Hmmm... how about Scorp?"

SCORP: "What? That's stupid. Where did you even get that?"

TOXIC: "Cause your attitude stings like a scorpion!"

ELVIRA: "Hehehe. Scorp will work. Anyways, you all were masks right? What did your teams do anyways?"

[Esa walks up hearing them talk about the teams and decides to be a part of it.]

ESA: "Ours was a riddle to unlock the Bunny Mask... Firin was in it."

FIRIN: "A riddle that Esa solved seconds after the game started. He's really intelligent."

TOXIC: "Better than my group I'd say. In order to unlock the Raven Mask, they had to spill out all of their dirty secret fears. Very useful in my case because I did not have to do that. Hmhmhm."

SCORP: "Mine was simple. They all just had to say each others name and offer a bit about themselves. Like a kindergarten show."

ELVIRA: "I see. Did everyone on your teams seem alright? Nobody too afraid or suicidal or anything?"

[They all seem to pay that last comment no mind. Firin speaking up.]

FIRIN: "If they were, I didn't pay them any attention. That's just unresourceful."
