Ugh. You're in the middle of some kind of desert.
Your throat would be parched, if you still had a throat.
Or any unnecessary body part, for that matter.
You see the zombie beasts staying afar back. Good, they should be afraid of you, considering you can easily take control of them.

I'll take the best rolls for Swordsmanship, but I forgot you only brought 2 Endless Swarms, not 3.

I'll take the two 9s, meaning that 12 damage from them.

Remina definitely hits.

and does 4 damage.

>>712605
And forced burial'd.

The two brood-brothers team up on it, doing noticeable damage, while Remina aims and does some damage. You harness the power of Earth Magic and bring the ground crumbling around it. It is temporarily trapped, and you take the opportunity to run. A few minutes later, you hear it emerge once again enraged.
*You are now being CHASED. You gain +1 to encounter rolls and if you get the Wendigo again, you MUST stay and kill it. CHASED will wear off after 3 encounters.*
Now roll 1d10 + 1 for your next encounter. Stat sheet has been updated with encounters for your reading pleasure: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DQqMAX_k-xFb33YOSIscNkOWXxB1xVBusIbrzxzDcY0/edit?usp=sharing.

Your party next encounters a Beastmaster and his Hell-hounds. The beastmaster and the hell-hounds are both variations of the common Sons of Chaos species of Imp. The Beastmaster is simply a more intelligent imp, while hell-hounds are the more canine relatives. Both are rather dangerous alone, but together they are a fearsome combination.

Cors tries to talk to / make an appeal to the imp. Assuming it lives up to impish sterotypes, it'll probably enjoy having power over him / taunting him / the opportunity to humiliate him instead of immediately ordering the hounds to charge.

This is a distraction. Giving Remina a chance to stealthily line up a shot and cheap shot it.

The hounds will be much easier to dispatch if their tamer is dead.

>>713078
You try talking to the Beastmaster first, "Might you let some weary travelers through? We seek no trouble." The imp laughs. "I can only let you through if you can answer my riddle. 'You can't see me, yet I'm always there. You can't feel me, yet I'm in your hair. You can't touch me, but I keep you on the ground. You can't hear me, but everything I drop makes a sound. Who am I?"
>>
No. 714322 ID: 02422f

>>714281
That's a tough one. My first thought is air, which meets the first two requirements. But it's sort of hard to argue it keeps you on the ground (unless it means it keeps you breathing, and not under the ground? Not that most the undead around here need air). And things dropping from the air make sounds, but you can hear the wind.

Gravity also comes to mind, but you do feel it, and it doesn't really drop anything.

Unless someone else thinks of the answer, I think I'm still for Remina cheapshotting him while Cors makes a show of agonizing over the riddle.

Remina lines up the shot just perfectly to hit the chest, taking out the beastmaster's arcane nexus and killing it. The confused hellhounds bound off into the wild.

You are suddenly surrounded by suffocating darkness.

:DeathGodNPQuest: ???:Good job you guys. You did that a lot better than I thought you would. Keep up the good work, and you might get your original bodies back.

You drop back into real space, with you being carried of Tiberius' back. Hearing you awaken, he says, "You okay? You went into some kind of trance. By the way, we got some kind of strange soul."

You gained 1 Exalted Soul : Exalted souls can be used to turn a critical failure into a critical success, or force the enemy to fail a roll.

Tiberius can attempt to take control of it, then.

If that fails, Remina shoots, Augustus attacks, and Cors... uh, creates a golem to engage it / tank hits for the party. Let's mix up the spell usage a little.

What do Remina's spells / abilities / hymns do, anyways?

Unfortunately, since you're at your destination, there's no where to run too.

(Just so you know...Tiberius and Augustus can always try to use Necrontrol again. Stat tests work the same, roll under. The two can also attempt to combine forces, doing one test with a +20 modifier)

A Sons of Chaos Slaughterborn engages the two Wendigos before continuing on his berserk rampage, dealing 2d10 damage to each of them.

The combined efforts of the two necromancers still aren't enough to take hold of the Wendigo's mind.

Augustus and Remina can still make actions. The Battle Hymns for Remina have been explained on the stat sheet.
>>
No. 747972 ID: 3abd97

Wait, I thought rolling high was good now. Or what was it we even had to roll under?

>what do
Remina: Valyrie's Ride
Augustus: Mount one of these things.
>>
No. 748006 ID: 8013df

>>747972
(In reality, it was just to avoid having to change the stats of the characters. So characteristic test is still roll under, but combat is roll over your opponent's total.)

Augustus can't mount that! He has Mounted (Butcher), not Mounted(Undead)!
