>>You could just pick him up. He's a lot smaller than you.
>> Have the others kill him. No need for a disobedient slave.
I’m not the strongest kin by any long shot. And it seems a waste to retire a minion without knowing what I’m going into unless I can bring him back somehow or maybe turn him more to my point of view. Not to mention an order to murder their comrade would likely snap those two out of it. “You two, carry the third with you.”
>>What effect does it usually have?
Of the four respectable minion races of this world, Command Minion directs affected minions to follow the orders of the caster. However this ability acts more of suggestion rather than direct controls. Furthermore the reactions of the minions and their available cognitive, motor and any individual skills vary from caster to caster due to the differing emotional and biological responses the ability alters. That some gremlins are acting more like automations like this is a sign of a really poorly skilled controller and is more a mark of embarrassment.
I really need more practice.
>>Command them to stop that, and say that you did not expect that to happen, and you were just asking to be taken to their leader. Try to convince them like a normal person, but use Command again if they get violent.
“Stop acting this matter and more in the modes of your normal behavior” I command “I only wished to be taken to your leader.”
Both respond, “Yes boss” and the larger gremlin says it with a more snarky tone than the smaller gremlin with a respectful tone. I suppose this is the best I can get until I get a better grip on Command Minion.
They raise the third member of their little party, I believe it may have been something like Click, over their heads and carry him. He struggles slightly, but stiffly.
>> Maybe you can get him to tell you a little more, on the way there. Why did they need power? If it makes him feel any better, he found someone with power.
“So why do you seek power? You’ve found one who has it, but for what purpose?”
Our journey passes by a window overlooking stretches of ruined buildings with a waterway leading farther into what seems to be an underground complex.
The yellow gremlin by the name of Click growls, but coming from a smaller thing like him. It isn’t very intimidating. “We’re being harassed by others, not that you’d care. Nobody leaves us gremlins alone. Always thinking they’re better than us. I found out there was something powerful down here that got locked up from the old Empire. But we found you.” Clicks says this with a tinge of regret.
