>Why are you scavenging?
Trying to survive, mostly!
About a month ago, my airship crashed down here. As far as I know the only survivors were me and my partner. This place looks pretty abandoned and so far I haven’t seen any other airships flying by. We’re in a bit of a pickle, but I’d like to think we’re managing.

>Instead of going back to camp, let's start walking toward that skyscraper in the distance!
That incredibly conspicuous building??? It’s probably been raided to emptiness or full of rude people just waiting for someone to stop by so they can steal all their stuff...

>Cool, so what did you scavenge, then?
My bag now contains a bunch of canned food (two of each mushroom soup, tuna, gross beans), a bag of rice, instant noodles (useless?), a cool machete, two large bottles of clean water (extremely valuable!!!! though they're kinda warm) and some painkillers (probably good??). It’s kinda heavy but I'll be fine.

Also this cool looking pebble. Maybe it's a gemstone? I don’t really know what it is but it looked cute. And it matches my eyes!

>Who are you anyway?
I’m Makoto! I’m a boy and probably 20 years old. Or maybe 19. I don’t really know. Kinda lost count somewhere.

>What's the camp like?
> sweet, so how far away is camp?
We recently moved it to a mountain east from here. About 40 minutes of walking, I think. We can see pretty far away from there, and the path to it is kinda hidden, so we thought it’d be a nice place to relocate to.
As for what it’s like, it should just be a couple of tents and maybe a fire pit if my partner’s done setting it up. It’s just the two of us after all!

Where was your airship flying from and to? Are either of them somewhere you could eventually walk to?

>I don’t really know what it is but it looked cute.
Uh, does the term "radioactive" mean anything to you?
>>

It's probably a relic of the old world called an "active radio!" You should rub it on your tongue for good luck.

A visibly glowing rock? In broad daylight? ...that's probably not very safe. I would recommend putting it down and moving away from it.

What can you tell us about where you found the glowing rock? Where was it? How did you find it? Did you see any containers or symbols or pictures or writing?

>Where was your airship flying from and to? Are either of them somewhere you could eventually walk to?
I’m... not entirely sure where it came from. As for where it was going, it was towards a continent far beyond the sea. It seems whatever remains of society is located there.

>Umm, are you looking to repair your airship or is it ruined beyond all repair?
Aaah, the entire thing went up in flames. We managed to escape because we were outside, but it doesn't seem like anyone else was that lucky. There's some remains, but nothing really salvageable.

>why are you wearing a dress if you're a boy?
I dunno, dresses are cute???? Is that a trick question

>SO ARE YOU HAVING GAY SEX WITH YOUR PARTNER OR NOT? There, I asked it.
Whoa! That’s kind of personal, don’t you think!?
And, my partner is a girl anyway! Ha! Take THAT!!!
(i’m always the bottom though if that’s what you wanted to know)

Okay!

> Uh, does the term "radioactive" mean anything to you?
Um… Actually, maybe I'll hold back on the whole licking strange rocks thing.

>What can you tell us about where you found the glowing rock?
It was in the same place where I found the painkillers and the machete - in a small cottage a little ways back, in a kinda empty room. It wasn’t contained anywhere specific, it was just… on top of a tall wooden table. Maybe it was a pedestal of some sort? I can’t recall anything special about it, though.

>what's your longterm plans?
Long term plans are: "nope"
We don't exactly know where to go from here. I mean, we've been living with that ship's crew for a few years now. We're kinda just aimlessly dragging ourselves around.

Okay, sounds more like "found a magic item" than "accidentally wandered into broken radioactive storage". You'll probably be okay. We hope.

bury it/us as close to a source of groundwater as you can. Water is the best shield against radiation.

ARE YOU MENTAL?!

Find a lead box to put all your glow rocks in and bury it AWAY from fresh water! The thicker the better! Radiation and/or lead poisoning from contaminated rivers is LETHAL.

Power sources like that should be useful though.

Y'all lost your memory. Again.

The ball is us, you doofs. Or, more precisely, it's the intersection point between dimensions which we can use to talk to Makoto there.

Makoto is it normal for your people to take the advice of strange glowing things, or are you just especially credulous?

Anyway get yourself, and us, back to your base. Who are you accountable to for the things you find when you are scavenging?
>>
No. 672244 ID: 8060d4

Don't worry about other people, Makoto. Wearing dresses is totally fine and you do look cute in one.

If the gem is radioactive, you'd probably start to feel the effects in about a couple of hours. I wouldn't worry about that though.

I agree with everyone else too in getting back to camp. You can probably explain better there as opposed to being in the middle of nowhere.

I’m on my way already. Shouldn’t be too long now!!

>Okay, sounds more like "found a magic item" than "accidentally wandered into broken radioactive storage". You'll probably be okay. We hope.
Um, well, okay! I trust you! For some indescribable reason!! Guess I’ll keep it. We could use a lil bit of magic right now.
So, back into my pockets goes the pebble.

>is it normal for your people to take the advice of strange glowing things, or are you just especially credulous?
I dunno, I’m not a particularly distrustful person. I just feel compelled to listen to you! Or something.

>Tell us about your partner. We'll need to know her before we met so that we don't leave a bad first impression!
Right! Her name’s Penglai. She’s the sorta person who kinda… builds a rough exterior but deep inside is a huge softie. She’s pretty much the nicest person I’ve ever met! Kinda stubborn though. Guess it comes with the package.

>So... what did you and girlfriend do? Did you have a job, or any specific skills or talents?
Pen, she was sort of a jack of all trades, but mostly dabbled in… I guess mechanics and engineering. It was really cool. Me, I just cleaned! Floors and walls and stuff. It doesn’t sound very useful, but it’s a job to be proud of! I made things WORK!!

>if you eat it you'll gain magic powers and become the mahou shoujo you've always dreamt of becoming
That sounds cool, but maybe I should offer the opportunity to Pen first. She looks ‘tuff but she loves that kinda stuff.
Just kidding. There's no way I'm eating this or letting anyone do the same.

>Water is the best shield against radiation.
Sounds kinda gross if you ask me.

>Radiation and/or lead poisoning from contaminated rivers is LETHAL.
Probably explains the dead bodies I found near a suspicious river once.

Ahh, looks like Pen’s set up the tents. I can just barely see one of them from the base of the mountain! Now to take the path up there. Almost to the goal!!
