find cover, aim for enemy snipers and entrenched solders first (like machine gunners). Also try to take out any enemy commanders you see to disorganize them to make it easier for your boys to brake through.

tanks focus on entrenched enemies and large groups of enemy troops, snipers pick off any important looking worms or any worms that seem to be slowing down the advance like enemy snipers and machine gunners, normal troops focus on everything else so they can't swarm the tanks. We shall take this bridge this day comrades, and the city shall fall soon after. Now for the glory of the mothership CHARGE!

Once you're through the gate, find the tallest nearby building and work your way to upper floors or roof access. Sniper support works best from high ground.
Once the bridge is secure, redeploy sharpshooters to the gate itself. Remember to stay in cover from the rest of the walls.
If they can't pierce bodies it means that using the dead bodies of fallen comrades will help. But hey that is just me trying to survive.
