An odd figure walks endlessly, alone and silent, with no destination or hurry; where it came from only they know.

Occasionally the figure looks up at the grey sky, observing the stars and the gods that play among them, staring till they lose track of time...

Till they fall asleep on the spot. No idea how they managed to not flop to the ground like a fish, but that's not a question for now!

Suddenly, a voice from afar wakes shakes them awake.

>"Hey you, stop right there, boomerang head!"

The voice says with an anxious tone; not sure if from excitement or nervousness.

"... boome- what? The hell did you just called me?!"

Shouts the mysterious, boomerang-shaped figure in indignant confusion.

>"Well, you do look like a- no wait... STOP RIGHT THERE AND EXPRESS YOUR BUSINESS HERE!!"

Replies the voice from afar, waving what looks like a hand around in the air.

>"This road is limited access!"

...wait, what road?

How should the figure respond: they could always just walk away, since it's not like they have anywhere to go BUT this thing is the first anything they've seen in what feels like ages.

An introduction would also be in order, I suppose?

Start of with names.

No business. Just wandering.

The figure doesn't have a name, but for communication with those beings that DO care, it likes to go by Vilindel.

I'm a boomerang-head, I can always come back if I need to.

Tell them that you're so free, they can't stop you. What is this road they talk about?

The figure already has a name they can use, thou a fake name would be nice... I'll take Vilindel, if you don't mind; no sense wasting such a pretty name on something that already has one.

"... name's Marud. I'm just wandering by, didnt mind to disrespe- ok what was with the boomerang thing? What is that?"

Says the walking boomerang, still annoyed by the creatures comment for some odd reason.

>"I see, Marud the wanderer! I didnt not meant to offend such a marvelously sculpted head. But I cannot allow you to procceed, I must guard this road for THE GLORY OF FORTRESS CITY, IRAKAZEL!!"

Marud is starting to question the sanity of this creature.

"... what road? It's all ash for sealengths in all directions!!"

>"WHAT?! How could you not see the glorious markers I have set up for this task?!"

Says the creature while pointing disgruntled a 2 barely visible lumps of ash to its the sides.

>"Wandered Marud I am starting to wonder about your sense of sight!!"

>"...oh, where are my manners; my name is Ebra, A GLORIOUS GUARDIAN ON A MOST IMPORTANT MISSION!!"

'He really likes saying glorious, no?' thinks Marud to itself, chuckling amused at the loud creature; they really missed talking to people, even if they are as loud as that its better then taking to herself.

>"I cannot let anyone pass this road, it is much needed training before I can return to Glorious Irakazel!"

While Marud tries to come up for a respond to.. that, lets take a look at her stats and abilities, shall we?

Seems like Marud is a bug-like entity of some sort, nothing broken or seemingly missing (SHELLS: 9 ) with pretty respectable agility (SPEED: ABOVE AVERAGE ), pretty wimpy physical strength (POWER: LOW ), some incredibly weak endurance (DEFENSE: ALMOST NONEXISTANT), fair magical abilities (SPECIAL: AVERAGE ) and a surprisingly high willpower ( WILL: HIGH ; they specialize in poisonous abilities ( ELEMENT: POISON ).

Not as bad as it could be, those defenses are bad enough that Marud doesn't have a standard system of health, instead they posses SHELLS; a number of attacks they can take before dying but an attack can only take 1 SHELL at a time, no matter the intensity, with only continuous or long lasting attacks able to take more then one SHELL in a single attack.

When a SHELL is broken, Marud's body breaks apart, reforming after a few seconds; during this period they cannot attack but in turn cannot be hurt, allowing for survival in longer fights. SHELLS cannot be restored quickly, as they replenish over time; only a few rare abilities can bypass this limit.

SHELLS also posses another ability: the fewer Marud posses, the higher some of her stats get while some lower.

With her stats, Marud could easily run circles around Ebra, run past him or just go back the way they came... thou their SEVERE LONELINESS makes them want to stay and chat with the creature for a bit.

What should they do?

Ask if you can get permission to travel on their road. Maybe if they escorted you?
>>
No. 647780 ID: b5d0d5

Say that since you are not able to go further, you must stay for some time. "But these legs are restless, only stories keep them still. And so, tell me of your story, glorious guardian!"

well if we have nowhere to go and this guy is the first guy we've talked to in forever, I say ask him about his training and see if you can help. Like I said before we don't have anything better to do.
>>

Perhaps they could escort you. Not much of a guard in an empty wasteland if they are only overlooking the start of the road, one could wander in the other sides really.

Something something, Marud the Bugzerker.

I like this plan.

So, Vilindel. How do you figure into... whatever this is? By which I mostly mean, how are you aware of it? Also, feel free to tell us about yourself!
