That's tough. I'm sorry for your loss. I suppose at this point it's better to focus on survival, though.
What's the local area like? You're on the coast? Since you mentioned fisheries, I mean. Do you have easy access to the ocean, or maybe some woodland? How big is the town? And do you have a local library, because you might want to pick up a book on hedgerow foraging or wilderness survival or something.
What season is it? Usually summer is good for wild strawberries and raspberries, there's apples and stuff in autumn, in winter you might find some rosehips if you're lucky and a lot of new greens are more palatable in the spring, like dandelion, the light green tips of European spruce, broadleaf plantain, sorrel and nettle.
Fishing is a good plan. Gathering shellfish might be good too and demands less resources, but you need to check the polution levels because they can be dangerous to eat if polution in the area is bad. You should be able to check that at the library or town hall or something, or at least find out where you can find out.
Oh, and do you need money for anything other than food? Rent or something?
