You are a cargo delivery boy trying to make good time on a morning shipment.

And by Amnboreo-ra's grace, you have really messed up.

Don't blame me, dude. The guys at the office packed it too heavy

what happened? too steep a hill?
>>
No. 526738 ID: c5b2fe

Nah, you're good. Keep going up. If you can't, back up and then go really fast up and hope you don't break anything. Even if you do, just pretend that you didn't get it. Always works.

So... more info on what the problem is? And what we have to work with?

Go to your right, the ground doesn't look that rough.......and hopefully not to soft.

what would we need to excavate this or get several weather balloons filled ? another would be to unload everything and ferry up a few packages at a time

guys! all the straps on the truck are positioned so that they are useless to keep cargo from falling backwards.

If he tries to climb, everything falls off!

who planed this route?

No, it's entirely your own fault. You decided to pack a double-shipment and take the highest, but shortest road to the drop-off. And if you don't get past this slope, you will be very late and very much in trouble.

>>526737

Yep. There are too many boxes, and you don't think this truck has what it takes to get up without mechanical repercussions...or flipping over entirely.

No one but yourself to blame.

>>526738

Are you crazy? If you were to do that agai-...um...If someone were to do that, the truck would flip over. Or lose half of your shipment. Either way you would be in very bad relations with your manager.

>>526740

Going right isn't an option. Not unless plummeting of the side of the mountain is what you intend to do.

>>526747

What? No, your family has come up and down this road enough times to know that with the right amount of cargo, you won't lose a thing, even without horizontal strapping. But in your case however...that might happen. again.

>>526752

You did. You just HAD to choose the one route with this one...stinkin'...slope. All because of...Arther.
>>
No. 526908 ID: 8cbd84

Whadya know about Arther? Why'd we have to take this slope 'cuz of him?
>>
No. 526909 ID: bf54a8

back up to the last intersection. guess you gotta be late
>>
No. 526911 ID: 9ddf68

any other paths you can take, you could always just take this thing up the slop at a snails pace until the path evens out a bit then pick up speed.
>>
No. 526915 ID: a611d6

What do you have with you that we could use? Maybe a rope or something.

What's in the boxes anyways?
>>
No. 526916 ID: c95833

How long is the untraversable section of the slope? Could we unload half here, take the other half up, unload that, double back for the first half, and recombine everything at the top?
>>
No. 526957 ID: 2f4b71

If there is space to turn before the road slopes back down, reverse up the slope to minimise the chance of tipping over.
>>
No. 527375 ID: 360a3c

Idea: Do a little bit of impromptu road reconstruction with dynamite. At best you've evened out the angle of the slope a bit and that lets you keep going. At worst you've just blocked off this path and caused an avalanche that is a *pretty believable excuse* for being late.

This seems like a sensible solution. Heck, he could even carry some of the smaller boxes up manually.
>>
No. 528020 ID: 01531c

SO your center of mas is far behind you'll practically tip over at that angle?

My god man, it's so simple!

Turn the truck around, and drive up the hill in reverse!

That would probably take more time than going the long way around if it's even possible at all: There's an awful lot of large boxes on that vehicle, many larger than the driver is.

Arther is the smoothest, most twisted, suave-iest JERK you've ever had the displeasure of knowing. He's the very bane of your existence, born specifically to make others(mainly you) suffer. You're also convinced he's the root of all evils. He's been a thorn in your side ever since childhood, tainting everything you enjoy with his slick persona and obnoxiously manipulative attitude. When The Manager hired him to the shipping company, he ruined the one last thing you could find happiness and solitude in; something that didn't involve Arther.
He got you here by pulling another one of his manipulative tricks. Earlier today you were only assigned a single shipment, giving Arther the chance to shoot down your pride by mentioning the fact that you couldn't ship anything else, on account of your...shipping incident.

>>526743
>>527375
...It's also why the company doesn't transport dynamite, weather balloons, and entire construction machines.

In any case, you foolishly took Arther's bait, hook, line, and sinker. HE caused you to specially request The Manager that you take both shipments scheduled to go to the next town and save time. The Manager hesitated at first, but given some time to think, he gave you the go-ahead.
'Oh I'll show that Arther I can transport as good as anyone here,' you thought, your resentment towards Arther clouding your better judgment. 'I'll show him and The Manager. Then we'll see who's laughing.'
And so you had set out, double shipment and all, unawares of the stigmas in the road ahead...only would you realize later it would be dumb, stupid Arther who showed you. Gods abound, do you feel stupid.

Well, to be fair, that was your ORIGINAL PLAN; to take the fastest, safest, and noticeably flattest route to the drop-off. But a ways back from where you are, some bozos had a construction detour set up on account of...'refilling a sinkhole', they said? You were surprised, but not so much because you don't pay much attention to or care for the news anyway. The workers did however request if you could kindly take some packages along with the rest of your cargo, which you admit sounded strange. 'We can't exactly leave the site, see, and this faulty equipment we got is no good to us.' and regardless of your current amount of cargo, you agreed to take them with you. Those boxes are were pretty heavy, so they loaded them themselves in the back. And on the way back you'd bring them their functional tools, which they gave you a signed form for.
In any case, the road was completely blocked off, except for the other way around the mountain. Not like it matters, both roads are about the same length. But not entirely the same. How could you have ever forgotten about this ONE hill? You would like to think that this hill would be easier to remember, given the wonderful view of the hills and ocean below, and since it was here that you flippe-Nevermind.
You'll never hear the end of this from The Manager back home.

Yeah, no. You have nothing else beyond what's keeping the boxes down, the boxes, loading tools, and yourself. Besides, opening the packages of our customers is against strict regulation. The entirety of them are day-to-day objects customers order. Toys, furniture, mundane machine parts or tools, extra supplies for stores, etc. Not much help.

>>526957
>>528020
Turning around on this road is dangerous considering how far you are already on it, and how little space there is left on either side for a truck like this. There IS a possible turn-around area back where you came, but there are both special priority packages on board, (i.e. food and items specifically requested to be delivered by a certain time) and the turnaround is too far back down.
And driving backwards all the way down and back? Now THATS crazy.

>>528021
True...although, you could unload a few crates and have just enough time t-BRZZT!! BRZZT!! BRZZT!! BRZZT!!

Oh crap. The radio.

Answer it. If it's that dickass Arther just hang up on him.
>>
No. 532705 ID: a23afd

Yeah, you really should answer it. It could be your boss or something else important. But if it's not important, tell them you're busy. Then start unloading some of the packages so you can get past the hill.
>>
No. 532738 ID: 41690e

Answer. No need to get in more trouble.
>>
No. 532773 ID: 30016f

Quick question-where are you on the hill? If you aren't right on the slope, and can afford the distraction, answer the radio, otherwise, just keep on driving.
>>
No. 539181 ID: 8eb1e2

Ok, here's a solution. It's knid of time consuming, but it should get you through.

You unload some of the stuff you are hauling here at the bottom of the hill until you can safley get up the slope. Then you take the truck up the hill until you are past the crazy slope. Then you unload some sore stuff until you have lightened up enough that you can retrieve the stuff you left behind. You go back and collect the gear you left behind and then come back up the hill and clooect the the stuff you left at the top of the slope.

Oh, and you should probably answer that. Explain about the detour and how that is giving you problems here, but they don't need to worry, because you have a solution.

They're probably in the graveyard. Quests in the graveyard can be revived for an update simply by asking a mod in IRC.
