>Hey, do you know your family? Were they prominent in anything in particular or just ordinary citizens?
My mother told me that before the Gnolls came, all Lamia were nobles, and that it it was our divine right and responsibility to lead the castes of humanity. Now all non-Gnolls are lesser people, and Lamia in a way fare worse than the humans. They enjoy keeping my kind in positions of servitude as a fashionable and cruel joke.

>How is it you learned to read, anyways? That's more education than one might expect for someone who was moments ago scrubbing a noble's floors for a living.
I was taught by my mother, one hour every night. Almost everyone Carissia knows how to read some basic gnoll, as they print a great deal of ordinances from the presses. Those that can't read end up at the wrong end of the night patrol.

>What was your mother arrested for? How about your past- how old were you when the gnolls invaded, how'd you end up a house servant?
My mother was arrested for failure to comply with ordinance. Specifically, the one that bars the meeting of more than 5 Lamia in an non-licensed zone. That was twenty years ago. I was already working as a washing girl for the Kneppe when she was taken, and I took her place.
Currently I am 41, which means I am a young adult. I wasn't however alive for when the gnolls took over, though it wasn't exactly an invasion...

>Paladecia and Ridea, how have they faired?
Paladecia is a strange land. It is a place of rain, forest, and a temperate sun. Outside of that, all I ever learned of it from my mother is that they have turned to a heathen religion and not fit to call themselves Lamia.
Ridea however is a bit more difficult to explain. There was a war a century and a half ago in which their false king of Ridea sought to 'reclaim' Carcissia (That was a false claim though, because it was the nobles who rejected the high priest's authority, millenia ago). He believed that due to a Civil War in the lands of the dwarves, he could invade freely.
Our only allies outside of the Dwarven Kingdoms were the elves of Tijei, who in turn brought Ohlster into the fight. The gnoll ships were far beyond anything Ridea could muster, and their troops fought with the finest steel. It only took two years for their superior troops to overwhelm the numbers of Ridea.
And when they returned we greeted them as heroes, and they accepted our gifts and kindness as they waited for their journey home. Then without warning they attacked our armies, which were mostly depleted by the initial defense against Ridea. Crushing our millitary they rode unto the High Priest's temple, and forced him to bless their general as the new leader of Carcissia.

>Also what can you do other then clean?
I Can do basic math, read and write, I know how to speak both Lamia and Gnoll... Outside of that I am without training.
