I can't believe it.

Here I am, busting my ass to save this city's people every day, and no one even knows my name!

Alright, I know I have to protect my identity from the corrupt port authorities, but it would honestly be nice to get some recognition every now and then.

Sometimes I think I'd be better off parading around in some stupid costume, so at least then people would know who to thank…

But wait no that would just be silly.

Huh? One of the sprits…? Oh! Hello, you must be with the new gal. Welcome to my brain! And the lovely little city of Ruthport. I'd shake your hand, but, well, you don't have one! The name's Simon, by the way. Kroma told me about you.

In any case, I was planning on scouring the city for villainous filth a bit later! Would you like to join me?

Whoah, uh… you got schizophrenia for spirits? Or something?

I apologize, I don't mean to sound insensitive. But you know, all the best heroes have some kind of disability. Why, I myself am colorblind! Hey, maybe you could give me a second opinion on that whole 'costume' idea...

...What's this? A house fire on 6th? Egads! They surely need my assistance.

Man: I ain't budgin' on my price. Just sign riiight here, and I summon a water elemental to put out the flames.

Woman: Why how dare you… !

Man: You lose more the longer ya dawdle! I know you can afford it. Just sign the fuckin' paper, lady.

options are ask woman what her most valued thing in the house is, you will save it. or grab jerk and tell him he can ether put out the fire or have a broken face.

Are pushy for-profit fire brigades normal around here or is it more likely that that fellow is some sort of extortionist?

Walk up behind him, kick him in the back of the knee, and put him in a painful headlock.
Speak calmly, almost as if you're bored.
"Sleeper holds are a dangerous thing. Real easy to press a bit too hard for a bit too long, then they just never wake up. The law don't care much if accidents happen to an arsonist, you see.
Maybe I'd be more relaxed if the fire was out."

An ARSONIST! Why, it's the only logical solution.

I surprise the fiend with a headlock and calmly issue threats while demanding his compliance.

After I give him enough space to choke out words he heartily obeys.

Simon: And now, my friend, you're off to the jail for arson!

Man: Aw, get lost.*cough* You can't prove nothin'. *cough*

Hm. I fear he may have a point there.
>>
No. 476044 ID: f2c20c

Proving that it was arson is tricky. You have to track the trail of fire to its starting point to see how it was lit. Proving that HE was the arsonist is even harder. You'd have to connect the method of starting the fire with him, as well as place him at the scene of the crime...

How about you skip to the end and check his pockets?

Pff. Superheros don't need to prove anything! Just beat up the bad guys.
>>

Well you could always say that they can't prove this either than punch him.

You probably want to see what that paper was he wanted the lady to sign.

Simon: Oh? Well they can't prove this either!

Now let's see what sort of incriminating evidence we can find. Well that paper he was holding - just a 'Consent to Firefighting Fees' contract… scummy but perfectly legal on its own.

But what's this? Aha. This in conjunction with the consent form should be enough to put him away!

Woman: Hero - only the front of the house has burned! Most of it is just fine… You got here just in time! Please…is there anything I can do to show my gratitude to a handsome man like you?

Hmm! A conundrum indeed. I can either escort this gentleman to jail or just punch him some more and escort this lovely lady to her bed. Wait why is this even a question.

Fine, I suppose a responsible hero would make sure the bad guy goes to jail.

Simon: It would be my pleasure, miss… but first I must ensure this ruffian is locked up!

Dani: So there's a dragon in there, huh?

Joanna: That's what they said.

Dani: How are we gonna get in?

Joanna: … I'm still working on that part.

A few minutes pass.

Dani: Hey Joannie are we there yet?

Joanna: Oh my gods Dani we will get there when we get there.

Oh hi it's you guys... Well we've finally got to the damned place, but we have no idea where to start looking for an entrance to the lair. Any ideas??
>>
No. 482059 ID: 51e5af

So far we've determined that there is some kind of cave near the base of the mountain and another opening about halfway up the side. We can check out one of those or maybe seek out a local for help.
>>
No. 482081 ID: e3aff6

You should go for the higher entrance first, and work your way downwards from there.

> Higher cave

Dani: What took you so long?

Hmm. This certainly looks like an entrance large enough for a dragon, but it must not have seen use in centuries and rocks and dirt clog the passage. It might open up after a few meters, but then again it might be like this all the way down.

While the rest of us were climbing, Murdon and Mikael checked our other options:

The bottom entrance is very narrow, a tight squeeze but passable for a human. The seraphs might not fit with their wings and us humans would have to take off our armor. They weren't able to find anything farther up the mountain.

Looks like our options are:
> Top entrance (hours of work clearing a path)
> Bottom entrance (must remove armor, Mikael might not fit)
> Seek more information
>>

Let's look for more info, no need to rush into a bad situation if there's an easier way to do things

Odd. Perhaps the dragon has an illusionary or hidden entrance? We need to find evidence of its passage.

Also uh, can we get a refresher because I forgot what we're doing.
>>
No. 498439 ID: e3aff6

We should search for other entrances, but if we don't find any the top entrance is preferable to the bottom entrance. We have time to clear a path now, and having a cleared path will let us exit quickly if we need to.
