'Friends? None, especially not here. Allies... Well, hopefully I can count you in that category.'

'Abilities I have many, but none I have the energy to use right now. ...I do beleive I have gathered enough of my strength to burst these bonds, though. My captors undoubtedly think I am incapable of such, and I could catch them by surprise, but unlike them I am unarmed.'

'I could do that now, or further gather my strength and do it later... but I am unsure how much time I have, and I can hear many more in the direction they're taking me.'

'What do you think? Take my chances now, or later? If I go now, how should I go about disabling my captors?'

'That fight seems to have alerted others in the building. I can hear many coming from the passageways in front and behind me. I have a few options.'

'There are four doors here, each marked telling what lies that way.
Behind me and to my left is the Technical/Maintenence Wing.
Behind me and to my right is the Research and Development Wing.
In front of my and to my right is the Barracks/Security Wing.
In front of me and to my left is marked Special Studies. Before I can leave, I must go there. Something I need is stored there. However, a high-security door blocks acess. I do not think I could bypass it at this time.'

'Which way should I go?'

Barracks.
>>
No. 445481 ID: 886a4d

Head through R&D first. Make sure to gather additional pistol rounds from the dead guys though.

The other good option is the security wing to get access to something that can open that door for you... but its probably going to have lots of men. so I suggest holding off until you have soemthing more substantial then a pistol.

Gotta regain power first. Research and Development might have something of use.
>>
No. 445484 ID: bbee3d

How exactly can you regain power? That seems like it should be your first priority, after evading the people coming after you. I'd suggest going to whichever area would be most likely to help you do that.

After regaining power, the Technical or Security wings seem like they could help you get into other areas of the building, but it might be good to arm yourself with something from Security or perhaps R&D (depending on what kind of facility this is) before you go anywhere else.

> "Alpha, report! ...Security, give me a report on Alpha's situation!"
> "Sir, tacnet went down two minutes before the commotion. Cameras and Sensors are unavailable until it comes back up. The techs are working on it."
>"What the hell, of all times... Bravo, Charlie, find out what happened to Alpha. All other teams, set up security checkpoints in your designated areas."

'...I'll turn it off for now. I don't want it giving away my position. If you'd ever like to listen to it, tell me.'

>8 rounds aquired. 13 total.
>Radio Aquired.
>Power: 2%

'I regenerate power slowly through a variety of means. However, finding a Plasma Core would instantly restore a good deal of power, depending on the size. 1% is enough to grant me a burst of strength for a few breif moments, change my color to passively camoflague myself once, or use active optic or thermographic camoflague for a single second, or jam all electronics in a five-foot radius for a single second. I have sheilds that can deflect or outright block projectiles for a cost proportional to the mass and speed of the projectile, a low-calibur bullet taking 1% charge to stop. However, I need at least 1% power at all times to function. If damaged, I will automatically put all aquired charge into repairing said damage, if possible.'

'I enter the R&D Wing. To my left, there is a desk. I hear someone breathing heavily behind it.'

'In front of me and to my right are two wooden doors. To my immediate right is a wooden bench.'

'On the desk appears to be a map of the area, though I cannot clearly see it from my current position.'

'Behind me, I hear several people running a distance away. I estimate I have about 45 seconds before they realize I have escaped and begin searching for me.'

'What action should I take? I don't know whether the person behind the desk is armed or not, but they could inform the guards that I am here. I would rather their search efforts stay unfocused for as long as possible.'
>>
No. 445749 ID: 27d278

I don't think you need a map quite yet, and I'm sure there will be plenty more. Even so I'm sure we could progress without one. It's probably best you took the door in front of you, but keep your eyes trained on the guy behind the desk, in case he tries something.
>>
No. 445766 ID: f1eb3b

Hm, we' don't seem to know what the man behind the desk is doing, or how distracted he really is. Cautiously taking the front door seems ideal, as in the process we can get a better look at this guy. Could double back from front room if he's an easy target, and if he's alerted we can just keep moving forward.

'I could persue the wounded man, or investigate the Tech or Bio Labs. The Bio lab has another high-security door, but I beleive I could destroy the surrounding glass by expending energy for a strength boost. Alternately, I could continue to push forward around the hall, or search one of the rooms I have already passed.'

'A search of the file cabinet reveals little of interest, aside from an apparantly misplaced sticky note with the following: "Fix fire vulnerability before sending the samples to SS. If command finds out their newest project can be taken out by a lit cig they'll have our heads."'

'The chemical and cold storage units are more promising. I retreive a vial marked "BL271" and two vials marked "XS547". I know BL271 to be an industrial grade acid, and XS547 to be an agent used in chemical reactions that happens to also function as a fast-acting neurotoxin when inhaled.'

'I could investigate the Tech Lab, follow after the wounded guard, or push further into R&D through the hallway, among other options. I feel it may be prudent to distance myself from the entrace to R&D, as the reinforcements I expect are likely better armed and armored than any guards I might find pressing forward. On the other hand, I already know that other guards in the area are already heading toward my position, and I could encounter them at any moment.'

I also charge faster if I standby, doubling charge speed from 1% every 10 seconds to every 5 seconds, but requires me to be completely inactive during that time. >"Ohgod, what the hell's going on?!"
>"I don't know, but be quiet! You don't want whoever shot up an entire squard of Security to hear you and come here, do you?!"

'They continue in hushed tones.'

'I estimate 5 seconds before enemy reinforcements make it to the entrance of R&D and begin a sweep of the wing. It might be more prudent to advance past the cloud of neurotoxin and buy myself time than to seach the Tech Lab. On the other hand, there might be something of use to me in here. 'I hadn't considered taking a hostage, but I'm wary of the idea. The room these two are in are close to the entrance of R&D, meaning that when backup arrives, they will arrive here quickly. I do not know whether this room has another exit- though peeking into the room could rectify that without committing to taking a hostage or not.'

'On one hand, a human shield would make security significantly less trigger-happy. On the other, it limits my mobility, and gives additional forces time to arrive- the longer I remain in this facility, the less likely it becomes that I will leave it alive. And I must both complete my mission and leave this facility alive.'

'Additionally, attempting to take a hostage through the neurotoxin would kill them, obviously. This would turn it from an advantage to an obstacle- I expect the cloud of neurotoxin will remain deadly for at least a minute longer.'

'The Tech Lab may have additional equipment beneficial to me- but so may other rooms. This may be my best bet to take a hostage- but I may find other opportunities; I know the general location of the security guard I injured earlier as well. 'I could chase down the running man and take him hostage, and gain a plasma cell in the process- but the other would likely run while I am distracted and inform the reinforcements of my exact position. That is, unless I killed him. At this distance I could do so swiftly and silently.'

'I could ignore the running man and take the other one hostage- I would remain, for the moment, undetected by the security forces, but I would lose out on the plasma core for now.'

'Both of these options slow me down- but each has its merits. Of course, I could just kill the both of them, take what I need without taking a hostage, and move on- that would likely keep me out of the line of fire for longer.'
