I see where you're going with this, but I don't think now is really the time. Perhaps we'd best wait until after we've established ourself and can ensure that we're not going to get wiped out within a single deer generation.
That said, when we do go down this path we should see if we can't also increase the hosts desires to reprooduce (to counter the evident side effect of decreased procreation) or even increase the hosts production or responsivness to pharamones.
