Omaig, I can't believe I'm finally in one of these things- I'm ecstatic but at the same time, I'm not sure if I can do this ! The Cores choose the pilot, and the Labcoats say this one that's chosen me is legendary .. I've never done this before, and I don't even know how to begin; the responsibility is incredible but for the Highness I will go above and beyond !

I have you, my integrated infopathic GHOST, to guide me ! Now .. how do I even turn this thing on ?

Level the power station, then do a quick sweep of the area to confirm the presence of any substations or backup stations.

When that is complete move on to the Radar.

hit the radar, as long as that is up you run the risk of being wiped out via airstrike.

Eliminating this current location, the shuffling thermal blips from the Barracks / Armory, and the large Command / Research Compound, a tall spire is with little doubt the Radar / Control Tower. I lay waste to the Power Station and begin the trip there full speed.

Looks like the Barracks / Armory has had a chance to deploy, there are anti-armor about ! Though, I'm not sure if they've spotted me- What should I do ?

I slice the nearest units and fire at a tank. They are quick to return fire, but miss as I kill the lance and sidestep.

Both the Rifle Slug and enemies are ready to fire again, do I sidestep and engage or slip away towards the Radar / Control Tower ?

I can't avoid being taking damage escaping the mess of anti-armor, though I arrive sooner than expected. All the while I'm being spotted by foot soldiers who just seemingly appear out of nowhere. They spread out and keep their distance, taking advantage of my offensive load-out.

I arrive to designate one of the Radar / Control Tower's Heavy Guns and switch to MODE THERMAL. It's clear where the foot soldiers are attacking from now and an alarm warns me of an enemy Armor approaching !

I can attack the Radar / Control Tower, but I'm going to come under a lot of fire. Another option would be to engage the enemy Armor away from the soldiers and Heavy Guns. The air strike warning raises in pitch. I'm not sure what to do !

Don't worry about foot soldiers at this stage. If worst comes to worst, you can crush them underfoot. The armour is your prime concern.

Presuming that they have fear of friendly fire, try to get yourself between the foot soldiers and the armour, that way the armour may not be able to constantly attack, as well as potentially shaking the morale of the lesser enemies.

I'm taking it all on ! I move in and slug the Radar / Control Tower. One more hit and it's gone for good, along with precise Heavy Gun tracking and air strikes. The Armor fires some missiles and moves in closer when I dodge them. It backs off immediately after being doused in Thermal Lance flame.

I'm between a gun, an imminent air strike and a hard place !
>>
No. 355624 ID: c0e5fe

>>355606

Move in closer to the radar! That might put a delay on the air strike, since they can hit their own building. Might buy you some time. Keep shootan at that armour.

I guess I am taking this rather well- I wasn't told who these forces belong to ! I hope there's nobody I know here ..

I demolish the radar and get out of there. The Heavy Gun doesn't fire as I escape, I think that's the end of automatic tracking !

The alarm stops and there is a thunderous rattle. Bright signatures dot the air as two strings of explosions pass. I dodge the first, but a tip of the second hits square. The enemy Armor chooses a bad time to fire missiles as they both miss.

What should my next objective be ? Should I slug the Armor, rush it with the lance, or slip around it ?
>>

If it's rocking missiles, evade around behind it and charge it from the rear with the thermal lance.

355986

Ok, the enemy Armor is retreating and not firing either. I suppose its waiting for a visual report, realizing the odds against my vision modes and having lost assisted targeting. MODE THERMAL reveals another mess of anti-armor. I can run through it to catch up and take out the Armor right now, but they will definitely get some shots off.

I need to decide what my next objective is. I can take on the Command / Research Compound now that the Heavy Guns are short-sighted, but destroying the Barracks / Armory might have some benefit ..
>>
No. 355994 ID: c0e5fe

>>355986

Definitely attack the barracks/armoury. A bunch of labcoats and officers in the command/research center aren't going to do much between now and their slaughter. Destroying the barracks and armoury has obvious benefits.

Crush, kill, destroy!

>>
No. 356024 ID: e75a2f

Take out the Armory first. It should be a quick and easy job since everything in there is designed to explode in some fashion, you could possibly find something in there you could use, and it ensures that any enemy armor won't have a place to re-arm and refuel. It makes the whole rest of the job that much easier to finish; plus it could have a pretty huge effect on enemy morale.

I Thermal Lance the enemy Armor and it collapses in flames. Bright decoys shoot out from the wreckage and in the chaos I take a hit from a tank slug.

That takes care of the Armor, now it's on to the source. The Barracks / Armory is no doubt swarming with mobilizing anti-armor. I don't want to think about what kind of numbers I'm up against, but I will prevail or die trying !

Just past here is the armory. It's hard to discriminate structures in this vision mode, but it's much too big to be any kind of barracks.

Judging from previous encounters, these anti-armor haven't spotted me yet but they will if I don't pull back.

Do I attack the ground forces or go straight for the structures ? I might scout around for a better opening, but they might be little better if not worse than this ..
>>
No. 356055 ID: e75a2f

Look for better openings. Regardless of what happens you're going to have to start taking out some anti-armor, so there really is no worse scenario than this short of more force, and they will not be able to mobilize that quickly.

Patience and Timing are key.
>>
No. 356059 ID: c0e5fe

Switch vision mode (magnify + intensity?) and look for the nearest cover. Then head for that while opening up with the rifle at max range. Plan is for return fire to hit the cover. Then you can pop out to finish them off.

356203

I switch to MODE INTENSITY and the foot signatures disappear.

The closest cover is the armory itself. On the way there I am spotted and the engagement begins ! I trade shots with tanks when another enemy Armor alert sounds. Oh no !
>>
No. 356211 ID: 86f168

strafe away from everything while slugging them. let the armor approach you after you've destroyed/lost the anti-tanks.

356371

I try to put something between whatever I slug and move through the barracks. They're quite fragile and just disintegrate when I attack it. I can move through the rubble but I don't think I'll be able to dodge. I haven't lost the tanks or the Armor, which tries to keep its distance.

I'm able to pick off more tanks with this scheme, but unless I raze the place they're not going to stop coming !
>>
No. 356375 ID: 3ec596

>>356371

then raze the place and rush the armor in the resulting disorder to get in range for your thermal lance.
>>
No. 356378 ID: e75a2f

Torch the place with your thermal lance. The fires will spread all around the bade, and the cooked off ordinance exploding all around will help to sow confusion and disorder, if not outright kill some of your assailants.
