Quest restarted.

You wake up in a bed of fine red linen. The only light comes from a candle on the nightstand next to you. From what you can see, you're lying naked in someone's bedroom, however, you are all alone. The floor is blue carpet, and there is a dresser with a mirror. Next to the heavy wooden door is a lightswitch, and the clouds outside are nearly invisible through the window looking out to the night.

Wrap blanket/sheet around yourself, go through dresser and nightstand to find clothes and other interesting things. Also what's that thing next to the candle?

Disregard the blankets, look for clothes in the dresser.

There are two sets of clothing in the dresser. Both are clean and pressed. The first set is your casual clothes, the ones you came here in. The second looks very regal, and looks like something out of the Victorian era. They both fit you.

Which clothes do you want to wear?

It seems to be a steak set out for you. It's lukewarm, and comes with silverware. Silverware that's actually silver.

You look very dapper in these new victorian duds.

>>331936

Though not as warm as it should be, it is thoroughly cooked. It tastes delicious.

>>331949

What'choo talkin' 'bout? That nightstand has four legs! That's a crazy suggestion, and you're crazy for suggesting it!

>>332036
>>332078

As far as you can remember, as you enjoy your steak...

Your name is Blake Packbornne. You're 21 years old, and you're a male human. You're a professional trainer, who specializes in wilderness survival, and karate. However, a traumatic experience as a child keeps you from going outside at night. The fear easily overcomes you.

As for how you got here, it's quite a mystery to you. The last thing you remember is driving down an unused road in your pickup. It was a rainy night. You were going to visit your sister living on the opposite coast from you. You must be in the midwest, by now.

The road was dark, and stormy, and you had been driving for a couple hours. You had stopped by a coffee shop, and gotten a good caffeine fix, though. You remember that you saw something dart in front of your truck. It was big, quick, and houndlike. You panicked, and skidded out, crashing into a tree. After that, you woke up here.

Okay so the logical mundane thing that would have happened is that you were rescued after your car accident by a good samaritan and taken to his or her house to be taken care of. Why not a hospital? Unknown. Examine yourself for injuries that you're not familiar with that might have been from the accident or after. Also, considering that you were in an accident and woke up in an unfamiliar place, it's rather rude to take such liberties as dressing yourself in anything other than your own clothing. I recommend changing into your own clothes. The food was clearly left out for you, the clothes.. might have been left there to see whether or not you'd take liberties, which you did. Once you finish with the food, head out of the room, knocking at each door you come to while you look for your host(ess)

That's ludicrous! Werewolves don't exist! And Blake isn't so impolite as to steal from someone who likely saved his life!

He's not pocketing silverware without good reason.

>>332289

Blake removes the Victorian clothes. His Dapper score has decreased by -10. He then dons his clothes, and proceeds to jiggle the door handle, but it won't open. From the other side, however, a very noble sounding young woman speaks.

>"You are awake. Good."

"Wha?"

>"Please, I implore you to stay quiet, lest they hear."

"Who are you?"

>"I am Elizabeth Alli Cardia the fourth, daughter of Vincent Cardia, and Mistress of this house. You may call me Lady Cardia. I apologize, but I cannot introduce myself properly through a closed door."

"Well, I'm Blake Packbornne, and you can call me Blake. And why don't you open the door?"

>"It's locked, and I've lost the key. I do apologize."

>Why are you concerned if they hear?

Yes. You just tried opening the door.

>>332717

"Were you the one who brought me here?"

>"Actually, it was my servants that brought you here. I merely gave the order to tend to you. But if you're asking if I'm responsible for your recuperation and placement in this room, then, yes, I am."

"Why was I brought here? And where IS 'here?'"

>"You're in a guest quarters in my house. You were unconscious, and wounded from your crash three days ago. I ordered my servants to tend to your wounds. I'm glad to hear that you have recovered."

"When you say 'they might hear', who do you mean?"

>"I mean my servants. Something has happened to them. I'm not sure, really. My brother and I inherited this mansion from our father just six years ago, along with it's staff, our servants. We had decided to start expanding the cellar, so we hired a construction company. But a few days ago, about the time you arrived, the servants started reporting the construction workers acting strangely. Then, the workers and servants...changed. They...turned into monsters, and started attacking everyone who had not changed yet. It grew worse when my brother went mad, and started preaching about an ancient darkness. The ones who changed follow his instructions, and he wants all who have not changed in this world turned, or destroyed."

"Why are you concerned if they hear?"

>Weren't you listening? They might find us, and kill us."

"Why was I LOCKED IN in the first place?"

>"I wasn't sure if I could trust you. The mansion is very well secluded, and there are people who would like to see me and my brother dead."
>>
No. 332728 ID: 7aedd2

Doesn't really explain why you were taken here rather than a proper hospital. I mean, allegedly you've been unconscious for three days and yet you wake up in a clean bed with no IV drip or anything and just a steak waiting near you. Anyway, you wouldn't have happened to play the computer game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, would you? Cause it looks like you're in it.

Okay NOW get that silver fork, now that you know there are monsters

Blake has never heard of this game.

As Blake made his way over to the dirty dishes, he asked a question of Elizbeth. "That still doesn't explain why I was taken here rather than a proper hospital. Don't they have proper equipment for getting me in better health?"

>"Hah! You trust those doctors to take better care of you than my servants? Well, I should say servant. Still, Lily has more experience in medicine than any doctor could ever hope to achieve. She is something of a prodigy, there, and I'm grateful that throughout this, she has remained loyal to me."

>"We have been taking turns watching over you, risking our safety to ensure that you survive, and recover. I would think you'd be more greatful, and less distrusting. We could've easily left you to die, you know."

>>332729

The dresser only had clothes in it.

Blake agrees. If there are monsters here, they might be allergic to Silver. It might be a good idea to take the fork.

> Fork added to inventory.

yeah look out the window, see how far down it is

also how strong are you? do you think you could kick open a door?
>>

(Reposting due to typo, alternation placed in brackets)

Okay so this broad clearly isn't trustworthy, but we obviously don't want to let on that we don't trust her. So... ask her what she thinks [we should] do. Make it seem like you're 'grateful' and are dependent on her and possibly want to fill her with your babies. And examine the window. Can you get out that way, hypothetically?

Blake is fairly strong, and knows how to use it. He's a black belt in karate.

Blake sees where you're going with this train of thought, and he could kick down the door, if it wasn't so thick.

>>333835

Blake doesn't even want to go NEAR the window, much less climb out of it. It's night time, and he's terrified of going outside at night.

"Well...maybe you're right. So, what should we do?"

>"I would like for you to repay me by helping me reclaim my house."

Blake cocks an eyebrow. "Ah, so you didn't help me out of the goodness of your heart, then."

>"...Nevertheless, you DO owe me a very large favor. And I expect it to be repaid."

"You do realize this action makes you lower than a daschund's belly?"

>"..."

"Well, if I'm going to help you or not, I need to get out of this room. you sure you don't have the key, and you're not just lying to me?"

>"I've honestly lost it. Do you doubt my honor?"

"After healing a guy and demanding he 'repay the favor?' Yes."

What was with the sourpuss comments and bits about ulterior motives? I told you she's untrustworthy but you need to make her THINK you trust her! But now that's all down the drain, you charmer you. Anyway, the thickness of a door doesn't really determine how hard it is to break down... it's all about the durability of its bolts and hinges.

examine the door, then try kicking it a couple times for good measure
