Oh, well, just for the conflict and angst I'm gonna have to suggest Formicinae.

Ecitoninae are the best ants. Especially Dorylinae.

With both aggressive wits and superb engineering skills driver ants are capable of skeletonizing a small dinosaur. Did you mean to suggest driver ants?

How about we go with Odontomachus (also known as the Trapjaw Ant). Their bite is the fastest striking movement of any animal, and they can bite hard enough to launch themselves into the air.

You know what? Driver ants sounds good to me. For the swarm!
>>
No. 305946 ID: 180ec2

Yeah, driver ants can take on challenges much, much bigger than themselves, and don't require the kind of micromanagement that stationary colonies need. They can just waltz in, eat everything that can't escape, and move on.

Shall we skip chapters? Otherwise, setting up the hive mind. Note, that the Queen chapter as I've presented here is a starter for a new hive including the positioning of the initial nest, while in chapter 0 I take the freedom to decide of the positioning and neighbourhood. (The continent is Africa.)

Is chapter 0 unavailable until we complete sufficient objectives? If so then we may as well start in order since I wonder how the whole blindness thing is gonna work.

The dark smell is the smell of safety. It comes from a medium-sized soldier ant that is maybe checking-in newcomers. Smelling the dark smell makes you recruited in safety drill. The soldier begins to lead you somewhere inside the nest.

The Ant can use hungry pheromone, work path pheromone, danger pheromone, nursing pheromone, food pheromone and entangle pheromone.

The soldier leads the Ant up on the surface. A mass of ants is forming a column to protect the entrance. A large soldier ant that has a specific smell on it is organizing the drill. A certain euphoria is noticeable. These drills are commonplace, entitled to a status of a large organizing ant wearing off workers for time between alerts. The urge to get enjailed in the column is exhausting the ant neural system. Resist instead?

The Ant is in the column. [Time passes]

The protagonist ant is still in the column.

[The Ant feels supercharged with morale. You have caused a temporary +500% rise in neural capacity to fight and a night lasting unity with others in defensive action.

(suggestions don't affect in combat tonight - instead they only lower neural capacity to fight)]

<<name ant>> is exercising in front of her 300 years old hexvision which even isn't hexed. Her thoughts are about making her ancestry proud. How should she rethink life? Oh and btw she's moved by the unholy strenght of her ancient cousins. She's nearly 27 and still a virgin which is not perfectly normal in the society of ants in general but a mark of her current culture. What should she think about first?

[intro]

In this time, the most powerful force of tillage and terraforming perished from the face of Earth. A nuclear war took down, eradicated, most of the civilized remains of Human. It was then decided that the insect would get its chance to populate the earth, to darken the skies and to devour the stars. After millions of passive years of terraforming and spatial entertainment, the Insectoid appeared and seemingly made the sectoid gods dissappear with their aftermath in messing with "the Human" that was left to be changed after the nuclear war. Some Insectoids looked upon the remains and were disgusted. They saw, and thought gross thought forms. Yet some of "the Human" escaped.

Since the end of human civilization the Insectoid had conducted many intelligently bioengineered experiments on Earthling insects. But not until they found the potential in the realm of ants and termites, did they succeed to create a new civilization that would stand the trials of time and madness. This thoroughly "crazy" race of ants, or antloids begun with the thought of unification and collective creativity combined with vast workforce, but unlike in the case of "the Human", having weak mind, but strong connectedness. This connectedness removed the threat of most suicidal activity.

After countless millenia of crawling and landworking and collective creativity, the race of ants had developed the concepts of seeing, family, individuality, tribe, nation, corporation and cyberculture. Following these steps of development into the antloid, electricity, electronics, neural webbing, social engineering and vulcano entapment were discovered. These antloids were the dream of their gods, the Insectoid-kin, for they had nolife like never before.

It's here that we step into the life of <<name>> a "sexless" antloid worker. Well, this antloid would have a sex unless her sex buddy candidates weren't 24/7 of the time stolen by the Cyon, The godmind in the www. <<name works 19 hours of the day, 3 of which she spends in biocell replenishing her neural system, ie. insect brain, and 2 hours of which she uses to travel to the closest monolith and back as a commuting activity.

Zilly knows her old classmate, Gikik, who is a data specialist, messenger. Gikik helped here sometimes with homework. She thinks that Gikik is keeping distance to her becuase she is in lower job than he is. Then she knows a hacker who has been contacting her unpleasantly, only to inquire about her job and hobbies and such, probably from another Megalithia (federation) doing some research or just having fun and nothing serious. Then she knows a neighbor Zhuklu who happens to work in the same monolith as she. Zilly knows her neighbor is doing something unallowed. They commute together. And lastly, she knows her job partner Billiya from the monolith, who lives on the other side of the monolith district.

(Because of this stupid rehab I have no access to my PC and pentablet so we'll have to go "blind" for a while)

It's today noon at the monolith. She's plugged into Cobweb (antloid term for Internet) and the hacker contacts her ever so vaguely when she should get local resource indexing done.

- Happy noon babe. The hacker transmits his raspy voice via mysterious channel. And this conversation or a similiar conversation to this one occurs.

>>312439

- Hello?? Is it You again? She inquires

- Indexing you are I see...

- Yes?? I've been thinking... Should we meet in face to face if you're so interested in my business? She then asks the hacker. The hacker keeps silent for a while and then says,

- Sure. I find you're a lot in my mind. We should meet.

- Okay, where?

She gets an address to a Web Cantina not that far away, in the neighboring Megalithia (fed) which in in reach of two hours and a plan that could be executed this afternoon if work allowed an excuse for the trip, or later in the night when the work ends and Zilly is supposed to be resting. Skipping rest is not good for staying in the current job that grants Zilly access to all the "neccessities" of modern antloid life. And most of all, should we trust this hacker to show up in the foreign Megalithia where Zilly knows little of life and current expenditure?
