I have to pick who lives and dies solely by occupation.

I play god in all their lives. I am the reason why a million people have to die on this day.

Even though I have been doing this for years it still never feels right.

So, you're the grim reaper and you're experiencing dissatisfaction with your job? Is that what's going on?

>Wake up from the most fucked up dream you've had in ages. This quest is now about finding some goddamn coffee.
Coffee is the least of my problems, and if this is a dream, I haven't been able to wake up for 12 years.

>No! I'm unemployed! Take out Congress first!
Get a job.

>So, you're the grim reaper and you're experiencing dissatisfaction with your job? Is that what's going on?

Actually, I'm an assistant. Though if I publicly expressed satisfaction with my job, I'd be terminated. As much as I hate it, doing this sort of thing is the only way I can stay alive under His presence.

My job is a... collector, as you would say. If something goes wrong for us, I'm the one called to... dispose of the mistakes involved.

You'll have to excuse my overtly pretentious introduction, being like this for so long makes you very long-winded.

Have you ever worked with someone you've never actually known the name of?

He's been over my shoulder for almost a decade. As if I owe him something. I just want to go home.

Twelve years ago, he visited my hometown. He goes under a lot of different names. This particular night, He visited a small neighborhood, Laakso, off the roads of Mannerheimintie. I was just a teenager at this time, a young hooligan, and the allure of curiosity got to me. Standing out in the streets in the early morning, I spied a group of people congregating around a streetlight.

I didn't even get to say anything when they took my soul. And my face. I'm no longer myself.

But that was a long time ago.

I suppose it's not too bad to lack an identity, but killing people gets old quick.

Even the worst of jobs still suffer from monotony.

And thus lately I've been... considering my existence.

PROTIP: Use "@" as the subject to denote an update if you're not going to use a picture.

So now, after all those years, you're just gonna throw everything away to try to regain your lost soul and return home or die trying? Or just die in general?

So what's the plan, then? What've you been considering?

>So now, after all those years, you're just gonna throw everything away to try to regain your lost soul and return home or die trying? Or just die in general?

I don't fear death- the world is a beautiful place and I am no longer afraid to die. It would be stupid to singlehandedly throw myself to the wolves, however. But I'm nearly out of decisions.

But then again, I'm low on options, and dying would be a better fate than continuing on with this.

Do you go onto some afterlife or stop existing altogether? I don't know and probably won't, but whatever happens, I'm going to burn this place down and take that bastard with me.

>So what's the plan, then? What've you been considering?
You seemingly have jumped in at the worst, or best, possible time. The brainstorming period. But even then, I still have to tend to my assignments.

I have one to tend to- a young woman in Södermalm who is scheduled to meet her end, it seems.

I'm lacking in creativity today; I do not know how I will go through with this. Strange how I'm in the business of killing and can't even do that right.

I've got a... "sword", sielu varas, but it tends to make a mess. I'd like to make it look like an accident if I can.

Sounds like a mighty fine plan, indeed.

>young woman in Södermalm
>make death look like accident
Alright, well why don't you go stalk her for a bit? Get to know her routine, and when the best times to strike would be. If you already know this, stalk her anyways. It'd get you out of the office.

Have some generic ideas as well:
make something fall on top of her
lure hungry wild animal over towards her direction
get her trapped somewhere with no source of water or food
have her trip/fall onto something sharp

Carbon monoxide poisoning, suffocation, drowning, fire, car crash, a fall... The options just get easier. What do you mean by a "sword"? Your 'reaper's scythe'?

>What do you mean by a "sword"? Your 'reaper's scythe'?
It's... I wouldn't say it's hard to explain, but the problem is I don't have the correct words to describe it. It's not a sword, it's not a scythe, it's not a... weapon in the conventional sense, though I suppose for convenience, let's say that it is. A weapon that is the logical extension of your mental power. Have a high enough mental fortitude... willpower, intelligence, whatever... I'm not the best at explaining this. One of my associates explains it better, but I can't get to her right now.

>Alright, well why don't you go stalk her for a bit? Get to know her routine, and when the best times to strike would be. If you already know this, stalk her anyways. It'd get you out of the office.

See, here's the thing. That could possibly be the only way I make this objective more suspicious.

This target of mine... I don't exactly follow much with humanity's current events because of my profession. But she's not exactly a likeable woman, it seems. Shady business practice, illegal in most countries- the things they make movies about. I'd wager that if I left it alone long enough, someone would most likely off her anyway. And these people, most likely, are thinking like I am and want to kill this woman quietly as possible.

But it's never that easy... I have never had a cut-and-dry assignment and this one is no different.

The woman might be aware, I'm looking at her from outside her window (something I'd get arrested for if I were still on this earth). Brow furrowed, sitting in her chair, hunched over on her cellular phone. The lights are out in the house and she's wearing clothes that don't fit the season at all. The most striking, though, is that this brunette woman has a look I've seen many times before, and sometimes an expression I've worn.

The look of someone who knows they've wronged someone else somewhere in life.

So, can mortals see you when you're just hanging about looking at them through windows? I'd think not, since the whole not having a face thing might be a little unnerving for them. Unless somehow you magically grow a face when they're staring you down.

If indeed the case is not, is there a way you could rig her cell phone to explode? That might be a nice, creative way to kill her. Cell goes kablooey right next to her head; medical examiner thinks it's an accident caused by a faulty battery.

>KILL SHE
Charming.

>So, can mortals see you when you're just hanging about looking at them through windows? I'd think not, since the whole not having a face thing might be a little unnerving for them.

You would be correct; I can only be seen by mortals if I project myself to. I rarely do.

As for "not having a face", it's been... dealt with. A mask, so to speak. But that's beside the point.

>Knock on the window and ask if she has a problem.
I gently tap the window with the knuckles on my left hand, and she jumps, turning in my direction. Of course, she doesn't actually see me (nor me doing my best "problem?" face), and turns away.

>If indeed the case is not, is there a way you could rig her cell phone to explode? That might be a nice, creative way to kill her. Cell goes kablooey right next to her head; medical examiner thinks it's an accident caused by a faulty battery.

It's a possibility, but I don't know for sure. I'd have to get this girl away from her cell phone for me to do anything to it.
