So, uh, like... how do you feel about the first part of GodQuest? I missed it, but the archived thread was quite entertaining. Weaver's drawing has improved, too. Especially on the color palette part. I'm most surprised how it translated into gobs of instant fanart though. And quite good stuff, at that.

Interesting idea. I love creative games.

Too sandboxy for me. Not that it's a bad thing, just not what I'd look for in a quest. I'd rather have something more like Rubyquest or any of the other games.

Playing as a god is just no fun. If I wanted to do that, I'd just play Spore.

The thing about Spore though is that it is extremely limited. "You can do anything you want, so long as its either a carnivore/herbivore"

Also, I don't think it will stay sandboxy forever. I presume Weaver is going to give us some sort of adversity as we go along.

and giving your creature swine features makes it not like meat....

What?

I rather enjoyed it, though I didn't get to participate in it. The little characters we created along with the weird civilization trees have definitely given the game a unique array of ideas for later use, and I can't wait for the next installment.

I think the game is going to create restrictions all on it's own when it progresses. At the moment nothing is really defined, but the more the "players" form with tangible features and limits in the world, there'll be less room for lateral movement and more concentrating on taking what's already made further and further.

RubyQuest was done with a mouse. Weaverquest is being done with a tablet.

SQUEEE OMG QUEST TIEMZ!

Seriously though, it'll be great. I kind of want it to be held on regular /tg/ since I don't come here much, but if this place were to exclusively host a new Weaver quest, that might singlehandedly bring this board out of obscurity. He's definitely popular enough; at one point during that thread there were eight different posts with the same timestamp.

I'll agree on the "bringing out of obscurity"-part. Weaver bringing this place up in that first thread was the first time I'd heard tgchan mentioned at all.

I'm a little concerned about who's actually running this joint, but I guess we can always find out what sort of moderator they are later.

The moderators are basically whoever followed the Rubyquest IRC channel and stuck around until tgchan got started. I'm one of them. The board has no moderator interface yet. It's standard wakaba. If you'd like to help code the board hop on Rubyquest IRC.

I'm known for posting completely random pictures.

I hope he takes it to

so that it can get some properly deserved attention and a permanant thread of its own.
