A light beige/brown with red trim and black undersuit would go well.

Night ops/City cammo. Lots of dark blues/greys/purples/near blacks. maybe add a slight red tint to it.

I've never done Tau painting before so...

I suggest though, Dark Grey Joints and Highlights, rest is Black aside from optics which should be a darkened red.

But Tau are pig disgusting..

So this is how I've painted mine. I used Blood Red, Regal Blue, Space Wolves Grey, and Boltgun Metal, with some Shadow Grey on the pants of the Fire Warriors.

argh! do not prime your minis WHITE!

prime them black, even if you are going to have white as a main color, prime black, move up to white, through bone and browns or grays. for the love of all things grimdark, prime black.
