To get the pedantry out of the way, tripfagging != namefagging. The tripcode is the string of gibberish that happens if you put #your_secret_word_here in the name field. People who are so into themselves that they think other people want to impersonate them are usually namefags as well, hence the conflation of terms.

So to answer what I assume was the intended question, no, not everyone on tgchan is a namefag, but people who run quests usually adopt a handle for convenience, and they seem to make up about 50% of the population.

So why would anyone want to do #word? Like I get it can stop people from impersonating you which seems irrelevant here but I guess on close knit low volume threads it can be nice to not get fucked over by a twat who just likes to be a dick. But it doesn't seem like you can choose a word if you do your secret password name thing so do you just have to hope your randomly generated name doesn't sound dumb? Or is there a way to customize it?
