Overall, I enjoyed it. The scraps of lore we've pulled together so far are intriguing, you pull off an interesting compromise between unexplained functional powers and a low-ish magic setting that leaves what power we see in action with a nice, mystical feel, and the overall tone of the art and the world is great.
If you want criticism, I think the biggest flaw was we kept ending up in situations not where we had to think up something to do, but where we had to acknowledge there was nothing we could do (even getting the best possible roll and getting that gun didn't open any new options!). Not that retreat or discretion isn't a valid tactic, and an important thing to recognize, but a feeling of powerlessness can be frustrating.
Although it's perfectly valid if that's what you were trying to make us feel, or if it's part of the later buildup when we'll be less helpless.
...that or there were solutions to those problems, and they were either too well hidden, or we were too uncreative and/or cowardly to find them in time.
