Q:How does magic work in Anemoi?
A:There are two types of magic: Human Magic and Natural Magic. Natural Magic is what you use, though you have the ability to learn Human Magic.
Natural magic takes the energy of the user, and channels it through a willing elemental to create an effect.
Human magic takes energy from the surroundings or other people, and focuses it through the caster to create an effect.
Humans are capable of using Natural magic, if they can convince an elemental to let itself be used.
Each elemental can channel a certain amount of power. It takes Zeph three Sylphs to kill a human-sized target with a piercing or slashing attack.
Zeph is Air aligned, so when conducting her energy through a Sylph the Sylph can use all of the power efficiently. When using a Salamander or an Undine, the elemental conducts Air-aligned energy at 1/2 efficiency, meaning the effect is half as strong. A Gnome conducts Air-aligned energy at 1/4 efficiency, so the effect is one fourth as strong.
In rare cases, humans have an alignment that allows them to conduct energy through all the different elementals at full efficiency.
