Plant your questions, requests and game submissions here.

GAME ONE:

Oh no! It looks like Kitty needs some clothes!

Draw your outfits over Kitty to give her some decency! Or don't.

The best submissions will be up for consideration of addition into the quest as Kitty's choice of wardrobe, at a determined point in the story.

[[ Note: crudely drawn mspaint submissions will likely be hilarious and appreciated as much as real ones. Kitty won't mind. Really. ]]

Nyaerian catfolk come in various sizes, shapes and with different features. Some have large, fluffy tails, while others have typically straight, thin tails. Some have green, blue or even brown or black eyes, while most have gold. Skin tones range from pale to very dark, and have a higher range than that of normal humans.

Kitty enjoys almonds and salted peanuts.

Despite their appearance, Nyaerians are actually human, and can interbreed with normal humans. The false, cat-like characteristics are usually lost within three generations, although they will sometimes crop up in future offspring, albeit not as pronounced.

Despite common convention, catfolk are not related to any species of cat.

Nyaerians are often sensitive about their appearance, and consider remarks about their features to be racist in nature, when they are treated based solely on their appearance.

Nyaerians are an oddity in Nahala. The answer as to why they exist has been lost for thousands of years, although many suspect Acruen involvement.

Some myths claim their appearance to be the work of old gods. Their claimed reasons for such involvement are varied and often considered ridiculous by modern standards.

The most generic "species" concept in the entire universe. To be honest, I didn't want to include them because I despise typical species concepts like "human-cat" or "space lizard" or the like. There are some species within Nahala that exist solely for the sake of easy recognition, though. I've learned it's best to have some solid ground for people to stand on so they don't get overwhelmed by everything too quickly, as they get introduced to more radical concepts.

That loses its appeal to me: making humans more exotic. By shifting from human to "furry" (animalistic) It makes them less aesthetically pleasing, which to me, if you're making a X-human species, it should be either extremely disgusting or extremely alluring (even both if you can manage it), in some way. But I have a composition mentality to design. Hence why I don't like most species ideas. They don't reach far enough.

But, stepping stones.

your argument is whether or not it should be beast-man or man-beast.
a beast-man is a person with animal traits.
a man-beast is an animal with human traits.
rather ironic conundrum.
which one your character is is dependant on a combination of personality and features used. kitty is of the beast-man verity as she is a human with a few animal bits slapped on as well as a human personality.
a man-beast would look more like an animal standing on it's hind legs and the personality would be more like the animal it is with a few human mannerisms.

Okay...

See, even if you were going the SCIENCE! or even <LOLTRANSHUMANIST FURRIES> route of creating catgirls they likely wouldn't be 'related' to cats in any concrete fashion.

But its just a convenient thing to call various types of beast-folk (or I just call them Yeeks... Angband roots showing I guess) by the animal they most resemble.

I suppose it comes down to ease of description and classification. Why create and remember a new name for every conceivable type of hybrid traits when a simply conjoining of words already works (unless of course a handy mythological word already exists such as in the case of cow, goat, fox, and deer people minotaurs, satyrs, kitsune and fauns respectively.)

Anyhow... some support and protection for those pretty kitty titties. Don't want to catch a chill do we?

Back in the third Chapter She mentions that she can't die of hunger due to her immortality. but won't she still suffer from lack of energy? Or does she draw her strength from some outside force?
>>

The energy that causes her body cells to regenerate constantly (even if they, by all means, are too badly damaged to perform that task) will probably keep her body systems up and running.

The interesting question is, where the unknown energy starts to get into the equation. Right at the muscles/cells where it is needed? That would eliminate the need to drink, since her metabolism is entirely by-passed (She would lose water due to perspiration, gettin drier and wrinklier until she looks like a mummy. Or does the regeneration process also conserve form additionally to function? Could the regeneration energy, due to m=E/c², be able to conserve her stout and pause-bars-catching bosom? Who knows...).

Being Amortal removes your "ability" to die. It defies physical law in a variety of ways, yet there are still seemingly arbitrary limitations.

Effects:

*You become much stronger. It becomes possible to lift several tons, although there are still very apparent upper limits. You can lift a truck into the air, but most Amortals couldn't get it over their head, and even fewer could throw it, for example. (About five to ten tons is the upper limit for most Amortals.)

*You become more resilient. Being punched will never cause pain or harm, if from a normal human. Being shot by conventional firearms is painful and can leave bruises only if the Amortal is consciously prepared. Otherwise, the bullet could penetrate far enough to cause damage. This is sparingly similar to being prepared for a blow in a fist fight, rather than being caught off guard. For this reason, Amortal headhunters will often try to ambush Amortals while they are asleep (if they ever sleep) or in a moment of vulnerability.

*You lose the need for energy in the seemingly logical sense. The ability to perform work seems to come from no particular source for Amortals. If they push themselves, they can still tire and sustain injury.

However, Amortals technically do not need to eat, sleep or drink. The pangs of hunger and sensation of extreme fatigue will overtake Amortals just as often as a normal person until they overcome them. The crutches are often abandoned when the Amortal first "starves to death" or stays awake long enough to kill a normal person. Their body will become numb to the sensation, and they will lose it entirely, or at least until they introduce it back into themselves by persisting in consuming food or by losing consciousness often enough.

It is possible to lose any sense if it becomes overwhelmed in some way, although for most senses this is extremely difficult and undesirable. Pain, for instance, cannot be removed unless by continuous stimulation for very long amounts of time, which is usually long enough to permanently damage the Amortal's personality or drive them mad. Even after this, the sensation inevitably returns after years or centuries, rendering the process of intentionally removing pain as a sense extremely dangerous.

*You regenerate damage at a rate faster than normal. Broken bones will take hours to heal rather than weeks. Body parts lost will grow back over a period of weeks or months. This rate never changes but is slightly different for each individual, just as it is in normal humans.

When an individual's body is completely destroyed, it will use the largest remaining piece to regenerate. If all pieces are reduced to their individual atoms, the process can take years or centuries to begin.

Some "headhunters" will incinerate the body of an Amortal and keep the severed head, to ensure it will regenerate from the section they have in their possession. Enough of the body is sometimes kept to enable speech in the head, which will inevitably regain consciousness at some point. Devices may be used to continuously destroy regenerated material, so that the Amortal cannot regenerate or lose enough material to "die" and regrow from another piece of its body elsewhere.

Amortals can never completely die, although they can lose consciousness for centuries at a time. It is dangerous to have one's body destroyed for a lengthy amount of time, as sometimes the Amortal's consciousness will somehow return before its body, and they will be aware of themselves but unable to sense anything until their body reconstitutes, which may take eons.

-

Hopefully this will clarify some of Kitty's limitations and abilities. Currently, she does not need to eat or drink, as she hasn't done so in many years (she once "starved to death"). She still requires sleep, although not quite as often as other people, as it's been slowly weaned away over the years.

So they are essentially litchs without phylacteries. The universe wills them to exist and thus they do. Albeit said existence may be an utter nightmare, but they 'will' exist.

Hmmm, having done some consideration of the various forms of immortality... I have a question that is not often considered. Memory, do they still possess the human limits of memory referencing capacity? (ie: the human brain has no known limit on actual memory storage... but there seems to be a limit on practical referencing capacity.) Eventually you would start temporarily 'forgetting' things, like a slow kind of creeping insanity where you could forget entire year's worth of memories until they spontaneously crop up for random stimuli.

Over a period of several lifetimes it would become very useful to keep some kind of mnemonic device or journal of sorts in order to avoid losing important memories, like books in a library without a reference section.

Well that should simplify some planning. Do all of the base package come at once? I mean the extra streangth and durability, or does it take some time before you start noticing a difference?
>>
No. 12057 ID: 965f4b

>>321855
Amortals' memories are better than normal humans. They don't have perfect recall, but they can recall details most would forget over time. Some have better memories than others, although "perfect" memory is incredibly rare. Total memetic recall, the ability to relive a moment in time as perfectly as if it were actually happening, doesn't exist in Amortals. Photographic recall is slightly more common, as it is in normal humans.

>>321856
The sensation of being Amortal feels as normal as it being normal once did, so it's somewhat common for Amortals to stumble upon the realization that they've become something else. The only readily apparent difference is that the body will "heal" back to its prime, which may take several hours. The Amortal will not be at full strength until this happens, and may not notice his or her increased ability right away. Sometimes, Amortals will undergo denial about the situation, and will choose to ignore the signs until they can come to terms with their new life.
>>
No. 12066 ID: 601a90

if someone lived forever and had Total memetic recall, they would go mad as after several lifetimes things start to repeat and soon every event gives you deja-vu, and then you lose the ability to tell memory from the present, trapped forever in a dream.
>>
No. 12070 ID: 817cd3

>>321866
Generally that kind of recall comes with a severe price anyway (social and psychological disorders generally.) An immortal a such would likely be little more that a living encyclopedia who has to be led around by the hand.

It's a rumor Kitty in particular has latched onto for reasons that come up later. There are plenty of myths and legends about why they're dissimilar from other humans, and plenty have become popularized due to how Nyaerian culture has evolved since its borders opened up to foreign influences.

But in general, they're all almost always considered very sexually appealing to outsiders, although this is mainly because of the sex and child trafficking that goes on. Within Nyaerian culture itself, Nyaerian girls with slim frames and small chests are sort of a fetish due to their rarity. They become highly sought after, and usually end up having rough lives.
