Valentine's Day is coming up, and since lists seem to be in vogue in /questdis/ lately, why don't we show our favorite quests some lovin'?
List your TOP 5 favorite quests and explain why you love them so much!

PrincessQuest - P5 is the reason I discovered tgchan in the first place, so much love to her. And on top of that, PQ has very engaging characters, an interesting world, and does a good job of incorporating our silly suggestions while still working out an exciting plot.

Channel - This is a very new quest, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Using futaba channels as the setting makes it accessible to anyone, and the random memes thrown in so far (with more to come, I'm sure) are quite amusing. Not to mention one of the characters is a French sagefag incubus.

Mu's Journey - The art might not be as spectacular as some of the other quests, but Mu makes up for it with heart AND FIERY KUNG-FU SPIRIT. This quest has some of the most creative ways for people to participate in battle choices that I've seen yet in /quest/. Mu x Min OTP.

Deep - Awesome art, intriguing world, funny characters (Telwis is love) and plenty of weird mindfuck moments to keep you guessing as to what will happen next.

Lunar Quest - I don't know anything about this "Exalted" game that this quest apparently draws inspiration from, but I still find it very interesting. Having to uncover the secrets of the world as Saulanna does makes for an exciting quest experience.

Dive: The big one, the granddaddy of them all. Weaver does it. 'Nuff said.

Tozol/AQ: Two quests. One guy. Great art and story.

Dungeon Game: Doesn't get enough love or discussion. Why? The mechanics are sound, the art is great, the story is interesting.

The End: The lovable granddad of quests. In a good way. Completely PG-rated, shenangians galore, been around forever. Ed finds hilarity in an inevitable doomsday. Plus the world is lovingly designed and thought out.

Gridlock: A blue lady thing called Grid Hate Machine hit a lionfaced avatar with a dead fish. If that isn't explanation enough I don't know what is.

Journey - Perfect pacing, interesting designs, adorable Demesi and manly Tav duo. Pretty much the "perfect" story. But that's a given coming from someone that ties his future with the comic industry.

After Quest - Engaging, although slow at times. Pretty good art combined with a good though-provoking story and controversial characters. Can't wait for it to finish.

Deep - slowly updated but it's getting there! A tasty meal of mystery and mindfuck served by a girl with delicious tail.

Cutebold Slaughterfest - Runs like a game or a pen and paper RPG for me. Pretty realistic in it's approach to puzzles and situation resolve.
Plus excellent full-colour art.

BiteQuest - Surrealist Darksun-like setting. Since I love Darksun, I love this.

Oliver's Inferno - Even though it's on hiatus, I can't not mention one of the few quest with high-brow humor.

Not worthy of mention:

Hatch Quest because of high communism levels

I don't know if I could narrow it down to five.

Journey is possibly the best example of a quest I can think of, it had very solid art, fun characters, and an engaging story with a conclusion and everything.

As far as ongoing ones I keep up with:

Bitequest is another one I make sure to read when it's updating, for the bizarre setting and grimdark humor. It's updated in regular sessions, which makes it far easier to keep up with

Another excellent quest is Oren's. It has the same good characterization, was updated regularly, had a unique setting, and actually made me think about what was going on.

The End is one of the first quests ever posted, and again has a unique setting, and fun characters as well as a serious story that still manages to be regularly funny.

Pretty much the same applies to Deep, as well. Setting is bizarre, the characters are all unique looking, and the art is also great. It was also one of the first quests on the board.

Alienquest is another one of the first ones, and it also has good art, and plays like an old vidya, which is pretty fun.

Hatch is another one that started with the board, again, fun characters and the setting is planned out.

Pokemonquest has butt-terrible art but it's a hell of a lot of fun trying to fuck over Steve, and the writing is actually well done. The Big City, by the same author, has a fun, engaging storyline in a world that's had some thought put into it. Plus serious Doobie.

Tozol has some interesting characters, a good story, and makes you think about what's going on.

Gnoll's quests have some great humor in them, and Fortune even has a convenient plot this time. I like the fact that all the Gobbo quests were colored, I think it adds a lot to any quest.

Dungeon game has solid art, is updated regularly, and yet again has a world with a lot of thought put into it, and an interesting mechanic. Boon is kind of similar to the dungeon parts, but the same reasons apply for me.

I also enjoy the Atrophane's Tales that Weaver does, they're concise and easy to read, with a neat little story behind each one.

I'm probably forgetting to mention something here, but I'm tired of typing.

Because I felt bad for adding a nonsense post:

My TOP 5:

Dive - because it mixes serious and funny very well, the characters are diverse and likable and the plot is nice, too. And, of course, because we get to play the baddies (well, sort of).

Deep - beautiful art, mysterious storyline. Nuff' said.

Journey - HUG DEMESI. Well, seriously, it's like the alpha and omega of a quest: great art, enjoyable storyline, original characters.

Cutebold Slaughter Fest - It's like awesome, but in the future. Very interesting setting. And I like the different point of views.

BiteQuest - WakWakWak... Well, I feel like I'm repeating myself here, but it's true: the art is great, Spikesby is hella cute, the story and the setting are both intriguing.

DiveQuest: Cause its what started me on this site

Journey: Cause it was good. Needs to be continued in some way.

Gridlock: Cause there's nothing like smart AI.

Heavy Water: Cause its...well..PIRATES

RubyQuest: The first GOOD quest I read. FIRST mind you.

Ones I can't say: SteamQuest (I run it...expect update this week)

In no particular order:

-The End: It's been here when this place had like three running quests, and it's still there. It's funny, the world and the characters are charming, and gives a lot of freedom to the players. The art is simple, but colorful and detailed enough.

-Bubble Bucket: It has a badass main character, and interesting story, and nice game mechanics. Also the art is good, and has a nice mix of creepy/cute

-Cutebold Slaughterfest: The art is great, and it's like 8 different quests at the same time. What more do I need to say?

-Go Go Go Race Quest: The funniest Quest ever, hands down. Please CF, continue it soon.

-Colonel Quest: Not one of the most popular ones, but I like the story so far, the characters and the use of game mechanics. Also gives a good amount of freedom to the players.

I'm counting only the ones we have in tgchan.

Otherwise RubyQuest and DorfQuest would be the top ones, and that would be unfair.

Really? Hmm. Even staying within a single author, I find Dive to be significantly better than Rubyquest.

DiveQuest - Because Muschio is so hot unyuu
Knight Blades - P. rad art and characters
Deep - INTRIGUING
Journey Quest - Most kawaii couple 2009 Tav/Deme
fGhost Quest - Because fGhost

I'm also giving more than five in no particular order...

Journey - The perfect quest, as others have said. It's possibly my favorite of all but I hate picking between the ones on this list. I love it and the setting Lucid has done enough to start planning a sidequest set in the journey world for when the two Hatchquests are done.

CSF - One hell of a fun, well drawn ride. It's got a perfect mix of humor and badassness in every chapter.

Joanquest - The funniest thing ever produced by the internet. The entire reason this site exists. Joan and Journey are the only quests I have practically hurt myself making sure that I get to see the updates and suggest in time.

Deep - Mindfuck after mindfuck with adorable protagonists and great art. Now if only we could figure out what the fuck is with the cogs and robots and hearts...

After and Tozol - I give these the same spot because they're both done by Test. Fantastic quests with a great sense of humor and great characters. I absolutely love the dialog in these quests, particularly how the characters react to the suggestions given.

Alienquest - A quest that really needs more love, with probably the best art on the board and a fantastic adventure game style.

The Big City - Of GREEN's quests I like this one slightly more than Pokemon. While Steve's antics are great, McDooble and his city I can't get enough of.

The Gobbo Quests - I rag on Gnoll constantly for never finishing these but the ride itself is pretty dang fun, even if they never seem to reach a destination.

Bitequest - A fantastic but somehow humorously depressing world with great characters. The themes and dark humor are like candy to me.

I <3 these:

HatQuest/RuneQuest/(whatever the third eon is gonna be) because of the characters, the interesting powers the PCs have, and the heavy influence suggesters have on the plotline.
Tozol Quest for the exploration, interaction and puzzle solving.
Knight Blades for everything. Interesting plot, great art, unique situations and important choices. Very likeable characters.
Dive for the funny and adorable.
Huge Quest is my final <3. It is... so perfectly silly.

Tozol Quest - Sorry Test Pattern, you're my absolute favorite. Penji is the most loveable bizarre alien creature I've ever encountered, and that includes tribbles.

Crowmanticar - WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Aberration - Really gives Chloe the characterization she deserves. Slow to update and a bit wandering, but damn good characterization of that psycho rabbit Vasquez ripoff.

Critical Failure - This quest is so meta I can't believe it works. Artist draws awesome killer robots and doesn't afraid of anything.

Cutebold Slaughterfest - Oniontrain is my bishie. Needs moar Flare.

Also some honorable mentions:

Karen's Heart - Goes beyond the point of smut, all the way around the circle of mindfuck back to awesome.

Deep - She's so happy swimming! I like the lack of boundaries.

Sue Quest - Cave Story, except mimigas instead of robots. AWESOME

NORTHERN SERGAL - Forget the rest. This is the best.

No. 10538 ID: cfad4e

Journey Quest - Tav, Demesi, and Aggeia are good characters, in addition to being freaking adorable. I liked how they all had their own traits and motivations that didn't quite line up, but had them forming a party and working together. And flaws, too. Demesi was kind of simple, but a really standup guy. Tav was incredibly determined and very competent, but had lost darned near everything, and was struggling just to find some reason to carry on. Aggeia was kind of unsure of herself, and didn't even seem to like her job, but was going to get it done anyway, no matter how many times she got recaptured and put in a cell she could escape from...
And it wasn't just the characters. The pacing was good. The plot had rising action and a tight focus. And the art was great. I just wish we got to see more of all three protagonists interacting... And I wish we'd saved that last Lohrke. :C

Cutebold Slaughter Fest - It's kinda slow so far, (not in updates, but in plot progress) but it's so weird in such a good way, and it's got an epic feel about it. Everything that happens is happening with the backdrop of the world's superpower gearing up for full scale xenocide, and nobody knows what to do about it. Six POV characters is incredibly ambitious and neat, and provides different styles and atmospheres which prevents it from getting stale. Also, good art and comic relief. ("You don't look like a faaaiwy.")

Bite Quest - Also strange and also epic. Nice balance between episodic challenges and a rising, overarching storyline. The background is neat and the wizards are all awesome in their own way, and fucked up in their own way. (We don't know what's fucked up about Lord of Marvels yet, which just makes it MORE suspicious) My only real complaint is that I have no earthly idea how Spikesby can really change things. Even if he could kill wizards, which he can't, that would only make the world sink deeper into darkness...

Dive Quest - This has been going for almost as long as /quest/, but whenever I think it's getting stale, something totally great and/or dynamic and/or exciting happens. Muschio's a real son of a bitch and I appreciate that in a protagonist.

The Icon - Updates slow as molasses, but every update is totally oozing with details and things. It also has a nation-state, strategy sort of game experience that no other quest provides. It lets me exercise my PbP strategy muscles that have atrophied over literally years of disuse. It's a lot of fun trying to approach the newest crisis from every angle. There's too many variables to keep track of, but in a good way. There's a ton of ways to approach this, and any, crisis situation. I find myself thinking of everything from resource management to airmobile assault techniques, to the ways a strategic bomber can deliver a nuclear payload. I wish it'd update more, and I wish more people would participate when it does...

After - Who knew that floppy cunted rape machines could be so much fun?
Cutebold Slaughter Fest - Six quests in one, dude. Also, unlike some quests, you're kind of encouraged to think in this one.
Dive - Excellent pacing, mood and storytelling.
Journey - The best one.
Tozol - Dicking around in a lab, being pricks to our only friend and ally. What's not to like?

Also quite alright: Bite, Bubble Bucket, Crowmanticar, Deep, Dungeon Game, Lunar, Mudy and Oliver's Inferno.

This is a sampling of my favorite quests.

Knight Blades/Dive - You'd have to be in the minority to not have these in your favorites.

Crowmanticar - It's hilariously bizarre.

Slime Quest - I always like stuff like this. It's a shame Gnoll ragequit it.

Hat Quest/Rune Quest - I follow Rune Quest because I followed Hat Quest because I heard it contained a dapper lich. Then it became much more interesting.

Silvermoon - The characterization is flawless. The setting is wonderful. Every single update amazes me.

MS Paint Adventures- You never said anything about off site quests.

Ruby Quest- Didn't say anything about completed quests either.

Journey- Binky shall always be my favorite quest character of all time.

Dive/KB- I'm considering these two as the same entity cus we all know that Reaver is just Weaver's alter ego.

Deep- I don't know where it's going, but damn is it interesting.

Sum Quest authors I want to send the love out to.

Insomnia- I have to say your schedule is a lot tighter then mine, and I love where your going with your quest, I wish one day my quest will be like that. But what am I saying, I'm too lazy. :P

Gnoll- All of the females you draw are sexy dude, I don't know what art classes you went to, but I'm sure all the guys loved you.

Larro- You introduced the first main plant girl to quest. For that I honor you.

Gnome- Dwarf Quest. Nuf sed. Also you are the one who inspired me to start working on quests. Now if only I could keep them updating.

Weaver/Reaver- What more can I say bout you guys that hasn't already been said. Whether or not your the same person is debatable but if not, then you guys would still be awesome.

There are a few others I'd like to mention, but sadly I can't remember your names, so until later that's all the love I can give.

Not really. They were just first. Even if we include them and Drew and MSPA, they'll be forgotten in favor of the newer things, like Dive and After Quest.

It's unlikely they'll be forgotten, especially with all the references people make to them in their quests. They're classics. They have lasting appeal.

Dive - Weaver. The reason I came here.

Journey - because of my homolust for Tav the characters and setting.

Those are the only two I kept up with, actually. I keep meaning to archive binge on the others (particularly Knight Blades and Deep), but it'll take me damn near forever to get around to it. Case in point: Dorf Quest, Joan Quest, and 80 webcomics (seriously, I counted them) that I haven't visited for several months now.

My top 5:

-Knight Blades. I'm a sucker for awesome artwork.

-Dive Quest. It's just so fun to read.

-Deep. This quest has a mystery behind it, and I'm also a sucker for a good mystery.

-Channel. Internet memes and jokes amuse me so.

-Sanya Quest. The art is very colorful and the story ain't half-bad.

After Quest - This will probably be my favorite quest ever, although I haven't actually participated in it, the story is fun and interesting, the same goes for the characters. Test Pattern is a fucking bro too.

Journey Quest - It's fucking Journey Quest, enough said.

Cutebold Slaughter Fest - This is one damn fine quest, I keep finding myself going through it's completed threads in the archives. The pacing is somewhat slow but the characters and scenarios are amazing. The art as well is high quality.

Origin Quest - It's slow, the art is p good, but I find the premise extremely interesting for whatever reason, and I want to find of what the hell they did to those plants.

Tozol Quest - I may be bias, but I fucking love Test Pattern's characters. I love the constant foreboding feeling throughout the quest. Penji is adorable as fuck and Mitzi is awesome because I love mutants. The downside is that Test updates sporadically.
