Maybe I'm being too careful 'bout this, but still making this in case anyone is "interested but afraid of clogging up the thread".

Also, feedback please. I'm a newfag and I need criticism.

I think you're doing pretty good so far. The labels on your maps seem a little vague, but that just might be my own stupidity.
>>

The area map is a bit hard to follow especially if you expand the image to full, and it bugs me that some of the images are tiny while others are proper sized. Other than that I'm liking it. Reminds me of the good old days of JRPGs.

PORN FOR THE PINK BOARD
its a good quest. it kinda derailed with the future/alternate/magitec dude form another country but then we would lack drama from the adition of this problem. maybe if we where following him all along we could get tension, but then all characters added after would be literally secondary characters or the magitec dude would be a evenbigger mary sue.

also we should have grinded some wolves =c i dun wanna discover that we dont know how to fight later on in a actual life or death situation.

The jet dude was kind of early on, but then again Star Ocean 2 wasn't all that terrible a game. *hides from angry mob*

I really like the plot actually. It's a believable reason why one man's desperate quest can change the world, and for once the main character isn't some kind of big chosen hero. I'm guessing the suggesters actually sidetracked most of your grinding by jumping off the coast and happening upon the flag randomly....

Also ye gods, people should pay you to do pixel art! I can't even draw as good as that. You've got that innate sort of "Make a dot look like an eye" thing down pat.

I am as eager to show some blood - just as soon as the characters trust the Orb enough to let it in command of battle.
About image size, it's merely my mistake that I forget to x4 some of them before uploading. Usually correcting myself right after though. The overworld is made with a tileset(bonus points if you recognize it), and it may be a little hard to read resized to 128 pix - it serves only a general "where the fuck are we" purpose, not necessarily road planning.

Pic related... or is it?

Oh my, I found some very, very interesting and related things on my hard drive. And I thought I deleted this all stuff.
Perhaps I may share them... if you perform well ingame?

What a coincidence, they somewhat are. I wonder how many people are familiar with systems like this.
Before someone complains about visuals - it's to make it easier to see around. Actions will still be depicted normally.

is it basically a tactics system like fire emblem or disgaea? Or more like Final Fantasy tactics I guess since it seems to be one person's turn at a time?

>>328004
It's been so long since I played any of these that I can't really bring up a good example to compare, though yes it is one like that. It's timeline, not phase if you're wondering.

You just reinvented computers, sparkly-fucking-ball. Good job.

Here's a treat for you - but you'll have to guess what does it mean.

We're going back to a simpler time, when men were men and there weren't very many colors?
>>
No. 18327 ID: 31cbfc

>>328108
You're quite right about the limited colors. I'll just leave you with this one clue though.
By the way, the stuff I found existed long before the quest.

How do you determine the score at the end of each chapter? Is it mostly combat-effectiveness or a combination of things?

>>
No. 18654 ID: 5a2e05

>>328448
What? Of course maybe.

But seriously, I just enjoy having a bit of fun with the characters. Nothing big enough to cause their deaths or anything, just enough for a few laughs and a later victory.
>>
No. 18656 ID: 1a99f0

it might cause death if we need them to do something and their trust level is too low.

No. 18657 ID: 31cbfc

You realize that the shortlived fun may hinder your chances for other things? They may as well have left you in the room when changing. (actual example here, I was ready to let it happen)

It's still generally a bad idea to piss off the protagonist.

Also, I'm making a new spriteset so wait patiently until I finish it before I update.

Oh, and have a gif. I was wondering how good I am at animating... well, not for me to judge that, see for yourself.

hmm.... looks kinda like she is dancing more then running.

also, i agree that pissing people off is a bad idea, if we mess up by accident is one thing but being a dick on purpose is just no.
>>
No. 18683 ID: e973f4

>>328480
I would generally avoid letting singular suggestions, or one poster, fuck things up. Just a thought. Although I haven't really looked into the details of the situation so I might be totally off-base here.

Now if a bunch of people start doing it, then that's different. But, unless the quest has like two regular suggesters, one person shouldn't have the power to totally dick everybody else over. :V

I saw the error the second I uploaded it, I should have used 6 frames (1-2-3-1-4-5), not 8 (1-2-3-2-1-4-5-4).

Alright fine, no being a dick unless there's a healthy body of other suggestions to act as a buffer.

i talked to cat on IRC, the timeskip is because he lost a ton of stuff and so he had to start over, so he just skipped ahead to when he would of had to make more anyway.
