Do you have questions or critiques? This has been a fun experimental quest for me so feel free to give feedback here, as well as ask questions about behind-the-scenes elements that may not be clear.

This is some of the stuff Samantha is willing to trade.

Samantha's Own Wind-Walking Tincture
This air elemental magic will hide your presence from being detected by anything other than mundane means.

Trade for: 2 points of your Maximum Stamina for a 2 application bottle; get a 5 application bottle for 4 points of Maximum Stamina.

Windstrum Fireproofing
Keep this medallion hidden to retain the element of surprise. When it detects a direct attack spell being cast, it will unless a brief but potent extinguishing wind. There is a 1 Skill Point deposit on the medallion. The medallion can hold up to 9 charges; each charge costs a unit of blood equal to 1 point of Stamina. The medallion will stop most direct attack spells that have little mass to them -- fire, water jets, sand blasts, and ill-defined energy. It can't stop bullets or lightning, but nobody uses lightning indoors because it will kill their electronics and most witches will not sacrifice their Internet.

Samantha's Wand of Windgust
All the power of Samantha's bread-and-butter attack spell in the convenience of an easy-to-use magic wand. Samantha requires 4 Maximum Stamina Points or 1 Skill Point for the use of this item since it basically it registered to her. It can hold up to 9 charges; each charge costs a unit of blood equal to 1 point of Stamina.

Cyclone in a Bottle
A bottle with a Cyclone AOE spell inside. Each comes with a small timer, or it can be thrown -- but get out fast, since there's no witch controlling this blast!

Bottles cost 4 Stamina each.

Rent out Tabitha
Samantha's familiar is available for rent. She's capable of all kinds of useful things like stealth scouting, and the possession of objects and unintelligent devices. She can also interfere with some spells.

Samantha is available for rent at the low-low price of 4 Stamina or a sample of juices caused by a G-spot orgasm. Do not ask about the latter.

Ugh, first I posted "don't have sex but then have sex" then I posted on thread 2 (I'm staying away from that one from now on, you threw out an ass pull for a Bravo), third time's the charm.

What was the motive for making these blind date quests? Also, are you going to tie more characters from your regular questlines into these quests, or are Nem and Sami and co. more than enough? I figure you could make fun of the admins with Family Guy based cutaways.

I hope you havent stopped with the second date because i am too invested in horned johnny to watch him die. (again) For the windstrum fireproofing do we have to set how much stamina we want to put in there or can we just keep going till we hit 9?

This is a fun experiment, but I am not ready for this to be the new format that all quests follow. The blind date threads have a really strange tone shift when they go from show to date, makes the story telling and suggestion system feel a bit disjointed.

Also I am getting whiplash keeping up with two simultaneous threads in a way that I do not typically experience when following multiple quests. Not sure why.

dialog in rhyme was a mistake ._.

>What was the motive for making these blind date quests?

They've been a fun experiment. Sami and Nem enjoy a fair amount of protection in their quests because I don't want to go to all the work of storycrafting just to have them die. It originally was just going to be a two-shot quest.

But at some point, I was struck with the idea that the date would be a lot more interesting with the threat of doom, and to follow through with said doom if things went to crap.

Right now, most of the Blind Dates make use of a lot of RNG. So if I happen to roll myself, I will use discount versions of my own characters, except for Nem. She's already the hostess. With the exception of Spike & Kitty, I tend to prefer to wait for characters to finish their quests before they show up here.

One of my big fascinations with these quests is that a lot of the storytelling I'm doing is on-the-fly. Paula's date quirk is just "Mayfly Syndrome", the reason why she's cursed, who cursed her, and Samantha's involvement were all things that just came to me once the seeds were planted. Plus the art is much simpler, so I can do updates much faster.

>I hope you havent stopped with the second date because i am too invested in horned johnny to watch him die. (again) For the windstrum fireproofing do we have to set how much stamina we want to put in there or can we just keep going till we hit 9?

No, I've not stopped by a long shot. I'm actually glad Beta's gotten involved, she will add a lot more chaos to the mix. Depending on how the quest wraps up, the characters might be added as callbacks.

As to the fireproofing, you can have up to nine charges, but that's coming off Johnny's stamina so be strategic.

>This is a fun experiment, but I am not ready for this to be the new format that all quests follow. The blind date threads have a really strange tone shift when they go from show to date, makes the story telling and suggestion system feel a bit disjointed.

Hell no, only the Blind Dates follow this format. Blind Dates are written on-the-fly, my regular quests are more thought out. The only currently running regular Quest is Sami's Quest; Spike & Kitty are done when I'm feeling it. Sami's Quest has much more detailed artwork so her updates take a lot longer, and I've a major one coming up for meeting the piper so I've been putting it off.

With these absurd stats, plus agent background, lil Suzy is most appropriate.

She doesn't need to feel in control. She just always is.

I'm working on some Razzay Quest concepts and would like feedback.

Should I use a more cartoony style (left) or a slightly more realistic style (right)?

Since Razzay Quest is a departure from my standard, style choices also reflects the amount of realism in the quest itself. Razzay Quest won't be a hard serious quest (it's going to have silly moments on par with Date) but it does impact the depiction of sex and violence; the more realistic style will have more realistic consequences (blood, awkwardness, what is comfortable) while the cartoonier styles will have more exaggerated elements (little blood or excessive blood, higher survivability, damage heals faster, sex is depicted more in how it feels). Also the more cartoony it gets, the more a comical result will beat out any other kind of result.

Neither style plays more or less against you. A more realistic Razzay will be more concerned with the consequences of her actions and will be less prone to doing stupid things, as demonstrated by her use of a delayed rebirthing death curse over out-right murder.

A more cartoon Razzay will be fully aware of the lack of consequences however, and more prone to say blasting someone with an explosive because she knows that it won't kill them in the less realistic setting.

Regardless, Razzay is rather genre-savvy and her quest will definitely get NSFW in short order (Razzay has a 20 year old body and a 50 year old lust) so please don't suggest changes unless you're willing to play.

Realistic, because /quest/ needs all the help it can get not doing stupid things, and also I enjoy a bit of intrigue.

I've decided I should re-work the Blind Date Roll table. This is what determines the kinks of the various dates. I shared a bit of the table in IRC chat and the general consensus was that it didn't have enough entries in it.

While the Date Quest continues to be a work in progress with various mechanics being added and tweaked, if you have a particular kink you'd like to see added to the table, let me know. I won't tell you if it actually makes the cut or if it's there already and you can be specific or general as you'd like since it's really just ideas of what to add to characters.

Additionally, please feel free to suggest hobbies, interests and so forth. Again, no promises it will make the cut but who knows.

I do plan on giving Blind Date some more refinements in the near future -- something that will allow me to weave date stories better. This current one's giving me a lot of troubles, and I'd like to ensure future dates aren't so difficult.

So, who was what?
And what was our date specifically? (I'm thinking ex-cerberus)
>>
No. 115082 ID: 2474dd

Yes, Sarah was Cerberus. She had 3 separate personalities (thus 'three heads') but the opportunity to really show them didn't come up. She only switched the one time. The beggar was an ex-Zeus, who got fired after he got Greece bankrupt.

If you're curious about the phone conversation, Hercules was bringing someone back from the dead as a party favour. Sarah wasn't guarding the entrance so he got in and Hades was calling Sarah back on her day off, she liked the rough-housing and they started dating.

And here I was thinking it was somebody kidnapping a muse again.
So, what was exZeus warning us about?

What about the other two? Which one was the assassin? What were their respective deals?

>And here I was thinking it was somebody kidnapping a muse again.
>So, what was exZeus warning us about?

If you got far enough to bed Sarah, the two possible outcomes would be either her claiming you as her mate or eating you for security reasons. Although if you got Hercules involved as a three-way it'd give you an out that would let you have your cake and eat it too.

>What about the other two? Which one was the assassin? What were their respective deals?

Poko was the assassin; she had a deal to deliver Johnny alive to her boss for retribution.

Gally had a jealous spouse who'd try to kill you.

I feel a little like ending the date was the least interesting option for us to take, but at the same time, this is probably one of the times it made the most sense not to go chasing after the plot hook into someone else's business.

Like I said before, if anyone gets work butting into personal time, and needing to keep secrets, its a fed / spook / law enforcement.
