I had intended to open the discussion thread of my quest after finishing the first thread of the quest, but then I decided to do it now.

Feel free to ask and give your opinions on how the quest is going, and if you have things to point out, please do. If you have questions I will try to answer as soon as I can, and if you have any suggestions to improve my writing and/or my drawings I would like to hear them.

I may also post some stuff in here from time to time, but that may or may not be important.

First of all, I finally managed to think of a “texture” (in lack of a better word) for the stone floor of the library, so there is that. If you guys think it’s annoying or distracting when there is also “magical essence” on it, say it so I take it out temporarily until I need to use it later, or until I find a better “texture” for it that is more likeable. (In part, that’s the reason to why I didn’t try to put ashes on the library too, I feared that the image could be hard to see clearly and/or understand.)

So, the textures that I use to fill certain stuff in my drawings are so far:

1: For grass and leaves.

2: for wood, depending on which direction the wood goes.

3: Stone floors, maybe paved roads too.

4: Water.

I dig the vibe of this quest. Low key snooping around and investigating things that are (mostly literally) above our heads, and a construct and child give us two outsider / ignorant perspectives from which to try and explore what's going on.

>>107706
If those are supposed to be background textures, and you don't want people to mistake them for features (hey someone spilled a box of staples on the floor), you might want to differentiate them more from the outlines that form objects. A thinner line weight, or fade them to a lighter grey instead of black, for example.

Well, those things are normally made with half the size of the drawn stuff, at the time I thought it could be enough. I mostly use it to help differentiate the things of the background from each other. Like by example a tree from a house.

The only problem I Can think with what you say would be that they may blend a bit with the magical essence, but I will try to make them a bit more grayish later and see if I like how it looks, thanks for the feedback.

I apologize for the BIG delay with this last update, I really don’t know what happened, as I was having troubles when trying to concentrate and lacking of ideas for the update. With luck, it won’t happen again.

Also, here is a quick drawing of "Leo" that I made. They are somewhat stubborn and tends to be easily angered, yet at the same time, it tends to be easy to make them laugh.

Sorry for no update yet. I have been having little time for the update since I have been studying lately, an update may be coming soon, but there is still some stuff I have to work with.

Well, the first thread is over. I Hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the quest so far.

Sadly I will have to stop updating this quest for now, as there is a lot of other stuff that I need to do, and making updates, though often fun, is taking me some time. As soon as I can I will continue with this quest. If anybody has any question feel free to ask here, I will still be around and answer the best I can.

I was thinking on also adding an extra thread, as an intermission, to show a secondary character of your choosing, I still hadn’t decided whether or not I will add it, and I have been thinking a lot about it. Since there doesn’t seem like I will have a conclusion yet, I thought it would be ok if you guys had a saying on that too. So, would you like for me to make an extra story, starring a character other than Menno, o would you prefer for me to just focus on the second thread?

This has been an enjoyable tale of a small character in a big world. Can't say I expect big deeds, but I will miss the little problems.

Here is one of the drawings I made before starting the quest, as a way to test if I felt well with drawing the protagonist and to try to see how regularly I would be able to make updates.

Sometimes I think the quality of my drawings goes back and forth…

>This has been an enjoyable tale of a small character in a big world.
I’m glad to hear that. I was aiming for Menno to have certain problems understanding some things of the world surrounding it, while that world seeming somewhat hostile, and I have intentions on continuing to do that.

>I will miss the little problems.
I hope to make that, even if there are some big problems, the “little” ones won’t just disappear. If possible, I would want the readers to think in many different ways to solve some small problems. Then again, that depends on anyone's definition of “little problems”.

Also I forgot to mention that English isn’t my main language so there is a chance that some stuff I write doesn’t make sense, or are wrong, even if I take my time to make sure it seems alright. So if you read something that you find either wrong or annoying, please point it out so I can try to fix it for future updates and quests.

Alright, I’m working on the next thread, it will start soon!

Sadly, some of my drawings will probably be a bit off, since I got a new mouse and it’s somewhat annoying to use (is way smaller than the one I had), so I guess it will take some time until I either get used to it, or until I get another one.

I’m sorry for taking long with this update. I want to tell to anyone that is waiting that there will be a new update eventually, but I don’t know when. I've been having many complications, between life and my own stupidity I haven’t been able to come up with something nice yet.

I have an idea about what I want to do next but I still need to work it, and I will need time for my studies right now, so I won’t be able to put much work in the update at this moment.

Alright, I’m back! Sorry to keep you waiting, and I hope you enjoy.

There is something I need you to help me with and it has to do with how I draw the “magical essence” in the quest. Originally, I intended that the main color to represent it was that blue or cyan like color that you saw most of the time, and any other color was to distinguish between two different magical essence (that they are from different origin, made by someone else, by example) Yet since I’m not painting much else in my drawings, I suddenly thought such thing could lead to confusion, since “Leo”s fire was red when saw for the first time, and then I wasn’t really sure about painting it with different colors. And then, my drawings may not be helping to tell what sort of magic could be being used, if any, so I came up with three options to try to help:

1- I could continue with my original approach, and make certain stuff a bit more detailed in order to recognize what type of magic is being used, if needed.

2- I could simply use the same colors for each type of magic (red for Fire, by example), although I would need to find another way so you can tell what magical essence is different from the other.

3- Or lastly, I could attempt to paint my drawings. I think this would be very experimental, and I hadn’t have much time to try it and see how fast would I be able to make updates like that, let alone see how effective it would be. (Although it will take me more time to make the drawings for the updates.)

I wanted to ask you guys what you think would be better, or if you have other ideas that could help with this, If it is troublesome. I’m mostly want for my drawings to both look nice and to give the correct information to you.

Alright, slight update here, nothing really major, but some feedback would be welcomed here even if you haven’t been reading my quest.

Anyway, this is most for the reader that has been suggesting in my quest so far: While I would like to have more suggestion, I don’t think it would be correct to rush other people into suggesting. Although I think I should thank you for worrying.

Now, I planned this quest to have many suggestions so the readers can learn more of the world and see what could and what couldn’t work, and in that way learn how to face future challenges as they come, as well as encouraging creativity in order to find new ways to solve situations that no one, maybe including me, has thought of.

I also wanted to encourage people asking questions on stuff if they had any doubts on, both on the quest as well as in here (Although I would rather have the characters on the quest answer that question, so new readers can have the information available as it comes).

If someone has a problem with the quest format, drawings and/or writing, or have any suggestion on how I can improve, please talk it here so I can see if I can use it and try to work on that. I know I’m not a good artist; my drawings can’t compete with those of other quest authors, and my writing could also improve, as well as my planning and a ton other stuff. I just want to improve and give something for people to enjoy both reading and participating.

As long as there is at least one suggestion, I will keep updating this quest, even if it moves slowly and even if it takes me a lot of time to make an update. And if you have a new idea after making a suggestion, I will accept and take into account your new suggestion too (Although marking your original suggestion would be of great help, if there are many).

I’m sorry for the Wall of text.

Here is Thalia, I haven’t drawn her in quite a while.

Sadly, My PC somehow stopped working and I won't be able to work fully for the next update until it works again. I will still be wroking on the update,at least on the text, but I won't be able to make any drawings for the time being. I Hope that I will have it fixed for this weekend.

Well, bad news. My PC will simply don't work, so I'm planning on getting a new one. I don't know When I will be able to make another update, but if everything goes well, maybe I won't need to wait until I get a new PC to make the next update (although it would be preferable.)

I can't really have an estimate of when the next update will be ready, so I apologise in advance for the wait.

Alright I managed to get an update ready to go. I’m still trying to get my own PC (I was using my brother’s) so I can work more comfortably. I expect that I will have it for This weekend, but I’m not entirely sure. Anyway, I will try to keep making updates and I hope you enjoy.

Alright! So I had another complication.

I originally had intended for an update to come last week but guess fucking what? The PC I was using stopped working again. Right now I have it fixed, but sadly some of the stuff I had for the next update got corrupted too, so even if everything seems to be working well, it still annoys me incredibly.

I would HOPE that this doesn't happen again, and I will try to get the update ready for this weekend, although I'm having troubles with the drawings since I'm a bit out of practice. I'm really sorry for all of this.

Also, Now I have my own PC, so I think I would be able to work more regularly with the quest.

Aaaand my internet provider hasn’t been doing his job for the past two weeks… I’m still waiting for the service to go back to normal, the update was ready for some time, but I had to find a place in which I could connect to the internet in order to upload it. I’m sorry for the wait.

I don’t know how long this situation will last, supposedly, in around 20 days, max, everything would be back in order, but at this point I’m no longer sure....

Alright, finished thread 2, I hope it has been enjoyable so far.

I will take some time to try to plan how it is going to continue, I have an idea, but I fear that I will need to plan more properly, as I feel that has been a problem on my side and I hope I will be able to fix it, with time.

I can’t say when the Third thread will come out, I also have been working on some other stuff, making some unrelated drawings and writings, attempting to get better. Maybe I could open a draw thread later, if you guys want to see it.

Again, if you guys have any criticism or doubts, please post them here.
