"Yes, it is. It used to be from a gnoll mercenary. My alchemist heated it until she was able to change the shape to fit me."
"Wow.."
She continues to stare at it in silence.
"May I come in?"
"Oh yes, sure."
She leads me into her home. A small dusty room, packed to the ceiling with broken and useless curiosities, all in the style of the mansion I live in now.
She pushes some things aside to make a bit more room.
"Sorry about the mess. I don't usually get visitors."
"Don't worry. I am Ridder, knight-errant."
"Welcome to my grand castle, Sir Ridder. They call me Mad Petal. Lucky for them, namecalling is all that keeps me from turning their children to steel."
"Would you like me to call you that too?"
"Just Petal will be fine. You don't look like you have children."
"It's an honor, Petal."
"You make me blush, sir knight. What are you doing in our fancy forest of fabulousness?"
"I came here to find allies in my fight against a great evil growing in the east. My base of operations is in an old elven ruin in the east edge of this forest, so I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself here first."
"And Everdew send with you a thousand strong men and women, I'm sure."
"Ofcourse."
"..Could you tell me about the mansion you reside in?"
"I'm afraid I do not know much about it. The ghost of a lord Sylverleeve was awaiting the arrival of lady Opelteare, but it vanished in sunlight. There are several writings in Elven, which I can not read."
"Ah.. Just as uninteresting as the High Druids make it out to be, I see. If only I could get to read those things.."
"You are interested in the old Elven ways?"
"No, I'm just a rebel going against the established authority~ It has nothing to do with the incredibly advanced technology and art, gruesome as it may be at times."
"I see. And metal is a particular passion?"
"A lot of the old technology revolves around metal. It just can't be replicated with wood. I tried to work with some of the metal pieces I found, but I couldn't make a fire hot enough."
