>You never tell us anything, Deem.
I tell you lots of things.
>You sure it's a good idea to coach them while you're cursed?
What could possibly go wrong?
>Is it possible that the void shard could continue to grow if it is left in there?
It is ripe. It is ready to use.
>Also, can we link the potentializer to Hin's hammer? Or make a new hammer with it.
I've already made one magic hammer, we don't need two yet.
>Pass the iron on to Hin with the idea of crafting a self-assembling weapon.
We'll have to wait until my mana is running high again before Hin can craft anything major.
>darkling gem
>Can they be reproduced in numbers, or the effect strengthened in the one we have? As-is, it seems a little petite for any big plans.
The whole reason I did these raw mana experiments was to create new catalysts to use for future magical items and possibly stumble on to other useful materials.
>When you say pluck it free, do you mean back to the fountain at town, or back to the dungeon?
Back in the dungeon. It'd weaken them, not end them.
>Right, when you said the egg would have uncertain effects on living things but never hatch, does that mean when they... eat it? (A common idea, I know.) Cracked over them? Or stay in proximity to it a long time?
Oh I meant it's hard to tell what a magic item made from it might do. It should have enough compatibility that it could affect a creature directly.
>off-kilter potential. what does that even mean?
Eggs are symbolic of life, birth, potential and new beginnings. This egg has a lot of that life energy but it's abnormal.
>And feed the egg to cake mimic- more eggs, fluffier cake. Or maybe he'll become a souffle mimic!
>Uhhh... feed it to Alkaline?
I could try feeding it to someone?
>Define 'partaking of your power', please. Would this flower boost someone receiving Reinforcement, for example? And how would this sharing best be done? Could it be made into a decoration? Infused into materials - or, for example - turned into a tea?
It would work well as an emblem or any magic item intended to benefit actions taken on my behalf. Yes, gear designed to better anchor reinforcement magic on my guardians is a good example.
I am not proficient enough at alchemy currently to create an infusion that would have permanent benefits to the drinker.
>Anything you can do to preserve the flower?
I can press it between two flat rocks.
>squishy bomb
>Plant it - you can equip your denizens with the sticky sap harvested. I'm thinking the slimes might benefit, as I imagine they might be able to freely dissolve the sticky sap and can thus use it with less risk to themselves. Or you can feed it to them, to give them a more stickier texture, enabling them to glom on to adventurers - or adventurer weapons striking them - better.
All good points, I'll see if I can get it to reproduce then.
>The mention of Glutinous Ogre reminded me that Hin has Gluttonous Ogre. Given that she resists ingested poisons and curses and gains a boost of health simply from eating, shouldn't she be munching on imp jerky whenever she's exerting herself? That might help making a dent in the corpse supply.
I only had limited space to dry and smoke imp meat so I haven't processed many yet. I've been making fertiliser out of their blood and guts, cooking up their meat whenever I have a chance and seeing what tiny amount of usable leather I can get off them.
>How else can you access magnetism? Can you make an electromagnet, to magnetize regular iron?
I am not not well equipped to bottle lightning, so I would be best off finding a good quality lodestone. I do have an affinity for earth magic so magnetism is not difficult. Reinforcement works for a temporary solution.
>Hold onto the shard until you see what changes Moriko and maybe even Merud go through.
I'd rather use it to immediately strengthen one of my denizens than hold off and hope for the possibility of something better. Especially seeing all three benefited from hard to replicate events.
>You know Deem, Growth and divergent paths of evolution seem to be running theme in your dungeon, even this early. Maybe we should keep that in mind for future specialization?
Well I did decide to make an Earth and Shadow dungeon. Is it any surprise events would turn out like this?
>>Concern for denizens
>More that your weren't expressing it. You have many secrets, and sometimes it seems that you keep more than you intend.
Well what should I do about that to show I do care?
>Mine that bedrock of reality, Reisarf!
Right, who should I give the shard to then? One of them can add a new trick to their repertoire that they were forced to pass over:
Reisarf had the possibility of gaining Secondary Reinforcement instead back when he learned his mana storing ability. That forces recirculation of leftover mana whenever he casts a spell, giving him a small physical boost. It works best if he's flinging a lot of magic around since it lasts longer and gives a greater boost. It has a few more possibilities if I can eventually teach Reisarf to focus it into more targeted reinforcement effects.
Stargazer learnt how to exceed the limits of her shapechanging at the cost of additional mana consumption. She had the possibility of instead learning Mana Battery, which would let her exceed the limits of how much mana she can store and transfer it with ease - quickly replenishing the mana of anyone touching her and she'd be able to use up her stored mana to overcharge Reisarf's spells.
Finally Hin has the possibility of gaining Glutinous Ogre. It has a handful of nice features - making her skin more resistant to fire, cold, acid and cuts as well as the ability to secrete and spit sticky, slippery or acidic slime and she could be affected by things that would normally only benefit slimes - but most of its potential is that she might be able to develop further slimy abilities.
