>Staring out over the balconies edge... The town is so calm, so clean... It's almost as if nothing was wrong with it... The sun is hot and the wind is cold... The snow slowly drifts, refusing to melt despite the warm sun basking down on it... Such a lovely day...

Eadoo - ...

>Eadoo stares, with the eyes of a broken man... She drinks long and hard... sipping on a drink far to refined for her pallet...

Eadoo - It's just like a painting... Like a fairy tale... My fairy tale... I'm the fool running around... running...

>She looks out to the picturesque town and sighs deeply...

Eadoo - There's no way... No way a this can be real... thing's like this don't just happen...

>She pauses and finishes her drink...

Eadoo - And then there's you... Yeah... I get it now...

>She turns and slams her glass to the ground shattering it with a crash!

Eadoo - This is just a god damned Fairy Tale to you, isn't it!! Are we just Pawns in your sick game!? Look at you, Just watching and guiding from another fucking dimension!

>The little king is furious!

Eadoo - Cause the way I see it, I've got the shittiest end of the Fucking stick!

>She looks like she crying tears of fury...

Eadoo - I've got the Hero's tragic beginning! Just like in the stories! Within Ten Minutes of meeting you my entire family Died and I met a Fucking Damsel in Distress! My Son and his imaginary Freaks Killed Everyone I loved!! But It's Okay!! I was Promised, a Crown! I was Promised a New Life! I Was Promised Adventure! Like a Fucking Fairy Tale!!

>She's Hyperventilating...

Eadoo - But There's No Happy Ending For Me Now!! No Dragons! No Damsels! No Happily Ever After With Many Children!! ... You Stole that from me Gatling... You stole my fairy tale... So what Now! What's left of this... Broken Hero! Cause I don't see a good Ending to This...

>She looks away in disgust... Breathing irregularly...

Eadoo - Always silent until you shout out in a million voices...

>She darts a look at you sharply...

Eadoo - You take my advice this time Gatling... Chose your words, real good and real quick... Because you might never see me again...

You know we didn't want this right? Our goal is still to get you on the throne and make a awesome kingdom. We had the doctor growing a body off in his lab. Now we are down a knife and part of us is stuck in a mortal shell that we did not ask for.

Eating your mojo was a huge mistake pure and simple. We did not realize it was there and it was to powerful a force for us to resist. We still suck at dealing with our soul devouring hunger and should not really be jammed into any friends until we learn more control.

All I can say is we will do our best to fix things. We still want to be your friend and this changes none of our plans for your future.

Eadoo we chose you to be the king of this new empire. We never wanted the job.

The fates might have put something in you to make you a prince but we were never bound by fate. It could not control our actions.

Everything we have done for you has been because we chose to do it.

I would sacrifice this body in a instant if I thought it would fix things. We have a spare growing in the doc's lab. But I have a feeling it would just end up badly.

You are still our king and we will build you a kingdom if you will let us.

Fate is a cruel thing Eadoo, it takes and it gives on a whim. Fate had a plan for you, but this was no act of fate. This was a random act of chance. One bad roll of the dice and you're no longer fated for that happy ending. We didn't ask for this. I was never meant to be a "main character" I wasn't even meant to be an "I". But you have ambition, that's why we chose you. I know you won't give up on that just because of one stroke of bad luck. As long as we exist in one form or another we will help you achieve your ambitions. This doesn't change a thing, whether fate wants it that way or not you will be king.

Yeah, well, we're not exactly rolling in profit here either!

Look, the simple truth is that each of us "voices" have their own lives to live. We wake up, we go to work, we check up on you and a dozen other clients, we make some opinions, suggest some course of action, we eat, we cry ourselves to sleep, rinse and repeat until something FUCKS up our lives and we log off forever or some other shit!

Yes Eadoo, I am breaking out the swear words, this is THAT important. We don't EVER live Gatling's life. We're just looking through it like a story. Gatling is a puppet that WE control, but whoever is in charge of the story has the RIGHT and the POWER to decide WHAT happens and WHY; they have veto power over ALL OF US. We don't even BELIEVE that you EXIST. We just act in simulation as though we are trying to solve a watered-down, excessively-handicapped social game.

BECAUSE WE DO CARE. You invoke INTEREST in us. You give us a reason to CARE ABOUT WHAT GOES ON IN YOUR LIVES. Your scenarios and personalities cause us to pause every once in a while in our own lives and think about how YOU are doing. And when we're done with this game, we will leave, and you can have your FREE WILL AND DESTINY BACK, for real.

You know what? Screw the narrative for a few minutes. Yes we are lucky, yes we don't deserve it, but at least we can be a smidgen thankful for what we have thanks to you. And you think you've got it bad out of all the "pawns"? Albertina and her squad barely survived the first two floors of a 100-LEVEL DUNGEON and we NEVER HEARD BACK. Sami lost ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FRIENDS and she lived with the guilt of not saving a single one for TEN FUCKING YEARS. And I don't know what the FUCK happened to this Yuseta character but they look like a FUCKING CANCER GUINESS RECORD.

We can try to fix this. We INTEND to. And in the worst-case scenario? YOU eat Gatling's soul, or whatever EMPTY SHELL of a connection hub that he has. WE wll be FINE.

You are acting like a child with rash. You think because you had some stupid 'mojo' that pulled things in your favor that your story is over? Please, no fate but what we make. Everything we have done is for you. All for you. Don't you DARE insinuate that we planned all this! You want to leave? FINE! Go and run after EVERYTHING we've done for you! We could probably go on and do great things. But it wouldn't be the same without you. Without us. Together.
>>

You know we could never betray you Eadoo. The one thing we've always been able to agree on is following you. Do you ever wonder about the meaning of life, Eadoo? Because we don't. We have one purpose in life; to advise. We lead and we follow. We would do literally anything for you.
We didn't mean to steal your happy ending from you, we'll give it back if possible, and if not then we'll make our own for you.
>>
No. 685859 ID: 1cebc8

Also: FUCK THE DICE ROLL. If Eadoo hates us forever, let her hate us for the decisions we made, not the fate that was written for her! We did our best, and FUCK that stupid CRITICAL FAIL that caused this FUCKING MESS!!! Besides, we didn't get a Dice Roll when Chief Gorister went off the rails, did we?!

We. Are. Sorry. Eadoo. We never wanted to take what we could never profit from, of that you can trust. This is your story, FUCK the title.

We were mortified, terrified when we lost control. We had no idea what had happened, beyond that our unpredictable hunger had taken something very unusual from you.

We still want to see you as a King, Eadoo. And you still want it too, don't you? Here, with us, and all our new friends, its your best chance.

That's not enough I guess.

You are right, this is our fairy tale. fantastic adventure and fated struggle. But we are just passengers. For all the power we hold, we are still subject to the whims of fate and luck, just like you.

We didn't... try to take your spark. I wouldn't. We have weaknesses like anyone. It's why half the time we are too busy spying on people fucking to get the shit we set out for ourselves done.

But this isn't the end for you Eadoo. Breaking the chains of fate... leaves us in a strange way free to do as we please instead of as the invisible hands of the gods demands. We don't need to conquer a castle on the hill, sacrifice our lives and those of our friends to fulfill some prophecy.

You can go on. We will guide you to what your heart desires, as best we can, even if it's not the crown you expected.

Don't despair. We remain here, at your command as ever. And never forget, we love you.

You might have lost your "Fate" Eadoo, but not your Will. Great things are born from two things (or so some say). One is Fate, the invisible hand that some believe moves every one like pawns on a chest board, controlling all outcomes. The other thing is Determination, the ability to make things happen by your will and handwork.

If Fate is in existence then it has planned this error to occur, a trail for you to overcome.

But what i believe is there is no such thing as Fate. You can still achieve your hopes and dreams Eadoo, with your Will and Determination.

We can't go back and correct our mistake, our laps into primal instinct and for that we are sorry. What we can do is stick with you as you make your own path in this world. Should you let us walk next to you on it.
>>
No. 685919 ID: 6d4595

We fucked up. There's no other way to put it. There's precautions we should have taken, but didn't. I have no idea if taking them wouldn't have made any difference, or if taking them would have changed things enough that the possibility of this never would have happened, but we should have taken them regardless, and we should take them the next chance we get, even though there might not be anything else of this magnitude. But I wouldn't worry too much your happy ending being gone. We've, for the most part, been operating under the assumption that when this is all over, we'll be forced to leave. Some portion or shadow or something of us might stick around, but we don't feel like we'll be around to really enjoy whatever ending we get. Which is why for us, the only real happy ending is making sure our friends all get one. The knowledge that you and everyone else got what they wanted is all we need, because really, anything else would effectively just disappear when all of this is done.

I, that is we, that is Gatling, are not in it for us... that meaning the Gatling us. It's about you. And yes we have hit a snag. So we owe it to you to try to fix it as it my accidentally be our fault. Something weird happened though so I say the jury is still out on that part. But fault or not it's still our responsibility to fix it.

So if this mojo can be transferred then its plausible to transfer it back. So maybe we loose this body or some other aspect of myself. I have a feeling this is going to hurt. Eh, I probably deserve some hurting, if not for this then for some other shit I don't remember. I can be such an ass hate some times, and often when We don't even mean it. Keep optimistic if you can, we're practically swimming in experts on this sort of thing. And if you still feel down after that consideration of hope, well... with this set back your recent looses probably sting a lot more... You have my sympathy.

Remember I made you a promise. And we are not going back on it.

Well... Shit. Ignoring the huge plot shit for follower help... Guys I think we need to deal with this romance thing immediately, Trixy needs to be dealt with. Personally my preference is that we try to make them get along but we need to ensure Trixy remains our love and knows we love her. One, cause if I'm being honest I like her more as a love interest and would prefer the king was independent of us in that. Two, if she goes crazy again after all this... We would lose at least one follower to her
>>
No. 686080 ID: 1cebc8

Trixy, we're all going to lose at this rate. Desperate times call for pressing random buttons and screaming at the top of our lungs.

Sorry about tearing out the dagger in your back but Eadoo just took a @#$%ing sword to her open-heart wound; we needed to induce emotional surgery or she could have ended up like Gorister or what happened to you. You can take it; you have TIME and intelligence to heal, Eadoo doesn't have as much.

...I honestly suggest that you try to find whatever love for Gatling is inside her and share it, that 3-way went really well. Keep in mind that some of us (not me tho) voted on grabbing some kind of magical-skill-thingy that causes Gatling to start loving you for real. I do not have any idea how this works but it should start up soon.

Eadoo: Hold on a moment.
Given our nature, we're very likely to poof out of existence for a few years and come back remembering nothing. We'll try to prevent that, but we've never managed to avoid it before so it's best to be realistic.

That puts you in the same situation as Trixy, and we don't want either of you left alone. Would you be interested in romancing Trixy? If you and Trixy can grow to love each other, then we'll welcome you into our union.
>>
No. 686102 ID: f7a64f

No, keep that shit on the down low. This is not enemy quest, we are not building a harem of exotic kobold brides. Lets let it play out, being present to make sure no one is hurt in the process.

Maybe we should reassure Eadoo just a little that we aren't gonna let Trixy nuke her.
>>

No. 686141 ID: ad936f

WOW. I don't think we could've fucked that up harder if we tried. We said everything out of order and... wow. I should've guessed something like this would happen right after we finally got the [I think I love her] perk. We could've had a master and a wife, now we have a love triangle involving Eadoo, a yandere, and a nearly emotionless conglomerate of FUCKING IDIOTS.
Didn't Eadoo used to have a mate?
Eadoo, I'd like to apologize for all the stupid shit I just said, all the other stupid shit that I've said in the past, and all the stupid shit i am likely to say in the future.
I don't think that romancing Eadoo is a viable option. Trixy doesn't exactly seem like the sharing type, and I don't think we can make Eadoo king without her on our side. If Eadoo really wants us that way, if it turns out he wanted romance more than being king all along then we can work with that. We can get Trixy to wait for the next cycle, or we can incapacitate her somehow, or we can run away or something. But I don't think that's right, we shouldn't do that to Trixy and we shouldn't make Eadoo give up on his dream. We should probably tell that to Eadoo, actually.
Trixy, are you alright? Please don't hurt yourself, or anybody else for that matter. Please just calm down and talk to us! We've almost certainly been through worse than this before.
Fuck clothes, fuck the sidequests, we need to deal with this bullshit right the fuck now. We need to sit down and discuss our feelings and shit, like reasonable and responsible adults. How can we be expected to run a country if we can't even handle our own relationships.

Oy vey. Well. I still think we should attempt to return the mojo whatever, at least if we can do it without destroying this body. If we can't... well we'll have to wait and see on that one, but it sounds like Eadoo might prefer we don't. Which I certainly wasn't expecting, but if that's what s/he wants...

However, FFFFFFFFFF LOVE TRIANGLE. I don't suppose we could convince them to go poly...? I mean it's not like we're a singular entity anyway. Having a physical form doesn't change that... it just makes it more confusing. But, this is definitely going to be difficult and it is definitely not my expertise, so I'm out for a bit.

We aren't going to run a country, that would be disastrous. Could you imagine the contradictory shit that would get done all the time?

We aren't of one mind on anything, why would we be on this? Forget perks, forger winning, and consider it as it is. There is a girl named Trixy, a mage of great power who we know nothing about but she was our consort in past life we know nothing about. We have Eadoo, a dreamer with some esoteric destiny who wants to build an nation for the outcasts and downtrodden.

Trixy has been incredibly useful to us. She is powerful, knowledgeable, and generally useful. She has a fiery temper and has and will continue to cause us problems at times. She is the most powerful of anyone we've encountered yet (probably). She is single-mindedly in love with us.

There's Eadoo. Physically she's unremarkable. She's essentially a bard: charismatic, agile, stealthy. We embarked on this quest with the intent of making her king. I don't even remember how the idea came up. She's always handled herself well in danger though she's not a fighter, really. We've shared many adventures with her, but haven't seen him nearly as much since we arrived here.

We can win, I think, with our without Trixy. Now, I think we can win with or without Eadoo. So the question isn't what's gonna make us more powerful or anything like that. The question is, which does Gatling actually like?

Gatling can't pick one. It's against the nature of the beast. Not only as a consortium of beings which each hold their own preferences, but as a nascent deity of lust.

If Eadoo or Trixie take issue with that, then they don't really understand Gatling enough to make a relationship work.
(Trixie would get a pass on any initial jealousy or offense, as she has terrible abandonment issues and just got us back as a clean slate.)

We can't go the polyamorous route, because Trixy (who we're already engaged to and in love with) is almost certainly not going to accept that. We probably shouldn't even bring it up until she calms down a lot, if we're going to mention it at all. We can't abandon Trixy because she'd probably kill someone (also it'd be a waste of a perk and our strongest team member). We can't abandon Eadoo because without him there'd be no point, this is still Eadoo's quest no matter what the title says. The only winning move is to let Eadoo down easy, and reassure Trixy that she is still our primary love.

I think it's pity that's going on between Eadoo and Gatling. Eadoo may be an upcoming leader of an entire faction, but deep down she's a mother who lost her children.

As for Trixy, we should probably have Gatling spend more time with her. Our main goal is to STOP OUR ALLIES FROM CONSTANTLY LEAVING. Seriously, half of Shenzi's squad, Martin and Rozalia, Gorister, who's next? We can't lose Trixy and we can't lose Eadoo.

Okay. What about the last guy on our recruitment list.

We also need to find out how to use these new powers to dominate. Once Gorister crashes out of the woods with his army of mind-raped cops we will need to hit him hard and conquer his troops quickly or the city will get a fresh coat of civilian blood.

If we can take command of even one of the armies baying for Gatling's blood, we'll finally have the army that most of Eadoo's enemies THINK we have. If they find out that the city has no secret army they'll just zerg rush their mooks and our squad members won't have the room to use their skills after getting dog piled.

I'm not entirely sure what you are suggesting with your sad comment Kome. With regards to people leaving, I disagree. We have a massive number of unique and interesting characters under our banner, Those members of Shenzi's band never were, and I'm not sure we can handle that many bandit gnolls, and Gorister I doubt had any other potential outcome. It's sad we lost Martin, but I still count Rosalin amongst our allies (if we ever see her again.)

And we may not be of one mind, but we can still act!

To Eadoo: Eadoo, I'd appreciate if you'd stay and talk some more. I don't want to surprise you or trick you into staying with a sudden affirmation of love. And there's danger tied to us, always. Trixy will not react well to say the least, though we will protect you from that wrath.

*lean on rail again*

Part of our multitude see her power as our salvation in every struggle. Some see her wiles and are lured to the bed in the world of the mind. Some see an easy and devoted companion in her. We found her as an amorphous monster, no more a person than a stoat would be, and us clueless as to what she was. We entered her mind to find it a museum to hatred of self and... well, us I guess. As we traversed the corridors of her soul, we rewrote her history, edged her hatred into love, extinguished the fire that made her rage. We changed her until it didn't seem so bad anymore, and then spoke honeyed words until she was willing to pull herself together again.

When we ate Shenzi's evil, we had no recourse for otherwise. Execution by an axe would make Shenzi no less dead. What happened with Trixy was honestly no different, she was violent to the point where execution was the only alternative.

*sigh*

In reality, that is no more Trixy than Shenzi is the Shenzi who hunted for your head because you embarrassed her in a singing contest. Trixy died in the woods mere moments after we met her. You can't ever truly love someone who's psyche you've rearranged to your own ends. You can never truly know if they are themselves or if you subtly changed them to be how you want. In truth, I feel guilty for having done it. Subverting a free creatures will in such a permanent manner... is truly murder of that person.

Eadoo, I'm sorry, but there is great danger. Trixy has always been a great danger, though a great ally as well. If your feeling are true, hide them not, but don't cling to us out of fear or sorrow. You've never expressed to us your feelings before, and it's hard to hide from someone who can read minds, though far from impossible.

We won't abandon you regardless. You are the king because you deserve to be king. Trixy could never rule, her power has corrupted her in many ways. I could never rule, as we constantly contradict ourselves. Roland couldn't rule because he's far too naive. Martin couldn't rule because he's far too obedient. You have the innocence of the downtrodden, the spirit of hero, and the heart of a mother. You have all that is needed to be just and right. You don't even need us at this point, you could continue to rally many to your cause, fight the coming battles, and emerge as regent under no power but your own.

Your fated power, whatever divine touch... it's not why you will be king and it's not what's special about you.

Now lets find me some clothes. It may not be exactly the appropriate time, but we know of a sure cure for our... affliction, and you could certainly help us with it.~

What has been ruined that cannot be brought back, Trixy? You invented a way to drown a soul and bring it back to life!

We're more disappointed in ourselves than we are in you. You do disappointing things, that is true. But you know WHY they disappoint people, you see beyond the rules, you can fix whatever made them.

Parents don't like their kids breaking apart clocks because they're worried that nobody will put them back together. YOU CAN. We want you to break things. Break yourself even. You're smart enough to figure out how it works and build something that is the same or better fits the application.

Now tell us how to take Gatling apart. If the orb is bio-spiritually merged with him, we want you to undo that.

There you go. See? You're smart. If the dead can be resurrected, all murder can be forgiven.

You're useful, you're determined, and you're ultimately a better squad member than we hoped for.

...Save the melting for tonight, kay?

We are sorry to cause you such pain Trixy. Yours is a cruel lot in life. Separated from the one you love, only to find them again... only to find they aren't them, they don't remember, they don't know.

You seek happiness but follow a path that will ultimately lead to sorrow. We can't but give you sorrow, being as we are. I don't want you to hurt yourself because of it. It's not failure of yours that brings things to this conclusion.

If anything it's a failure of ours. We don't know what we are or how to be that thing. We make promises if but a single facet of our many desires it. And we manipulate people to the level of their very soul for lack of understanding what it really means.

Trixy, you are amazing in so many ways. The world is lesser for the lack of you. I feel like the greatest failure of the us that wasn't us must have been letting you fall to madness. You know so much, can do so much. You can shape the world with time and effort, if you desire it.

Trixy, we changed you when we met in the forest. The rampaging monster you had become... we didn't know what was truly happening and we took bits and pieces and rearranged them. We erased bits and wrote new bits, to try to bring the miasma of rage and pain under control. I'm sorry for this now. We have much power, but the power to change minds against their will... it's cruel in a way that's hard to frame.

I have no idea how much that really changed you. Truly I don't even know who you are. Every glimpse into your life is one of amazing things that make even our multitude seem mundane by comparison. I don't really understand why you tie yourself to us. We seem... lost, by comparison.

I don't want you to hurt yourself Trixy. Physical pain will not make the emotional pain leave. It will not placate the need for acceptance or love. We do love you in the way we can. But... you clearly love us in a way we don't yet. We don't know you. We don't know why you love us. We don't know anything except what's brought us here to this time and place.

*Give Trixy a spirit hug*

We aren't abandoning you Trixy. We won't leave you to sink into that pit alone. It's not your fault you are sad. It's ours.

Trixy: And what, exactly, have you ruined? Nothing, aside from your own back. You've had a few minor missteps, but nothing serious.

You're recovering from trauma and battling depression. Those are injury and illness, not moral failings. Trying to punish yourself for it only makes it stronger. What you need is love, physical contact, and to see a mental health expert to start treating your problems.
Unfortunately, while we're probably the most qualified we can't be the ones to do it - we're much too involved for you to relate your problems to us like an objective outsider.
Since we can't do it, perhaps Coucu could help?

Alternatively, we attempt to go into your mind again and see if we can fix things. That's far riskier, and you would almost certainly come out of it a different person.
Pity we don't know proper mind magic.

Eadoo: We don't mean that she didn't exist before we meddled in her mind, but that the process changed her a lot. Her memories are real and unchanged, but she thinks about them completely differently.

I'd just like to remind Eadoo that even if we have a body right now we're still a group of people. If we say contradictory things it isn't hypocrisy, but rather a change of majority opinion.
Sorry Eadoo, but we probably shouldn't have sex with you until Trixy stops bleeding.
Trixy's current personality isn't a fabrication, in fact she's closer to her real self now than she was in the woods. She showed up in qwern quest. We may have stopped her from emotionally burning to death, but she's still in desperate need of some burn medicine. Her current state is our fault, amnesia is no excuse. She's still our fiancée and she's still our responsibility. We can't abandon her just because she's hurt, especially because we're the ones who hurt her.
Trixy please calm down, everything is going to be all right. What have you ruined, what's wrong? Please heal yourself. You're hurt, emotionally, but you'll get better, things like this don't go away instantly. You're going to be all right, we're here for you. It's okay to be angry, it's okay to be sad, but you don't have to hurt yourself. Emotions are just ideas, and ideas can't control you.
We need to reassure Trixy, and not rush into things with Eadoo. We should definitely avoid saying anything that would make her think we're abandoning her. Right now we need to play the supportive fiancé.

Shh, there there, gather strength from us... You and I, we aren't normal people. We work in ways far different than the rest, and even different from one another, though yours fit snugly into ours perfectly.
The problem here, and it saddens me to have to say this, is our way of being a thousand voices is also harming those around us, yourself included. We can rarely ever think of ourselves as one individual person, and when you think of yourself as a community, you form a sort of distance between those you would otherwise care about, and no longer follow the traditions you normally would.
What I'm saying, is that for all our love for you, which I assure you is a lot (we even gave up the chance of power to prove you as the most important), that communion of self leaves us polygamous.

Don't ask Eadoo to get involved with Trixy. With such rich characters it's shitty to try to force them into a "what works for us" situation. Eadoo knows the situation now, thought maybe she's missing some details. If she and Trixy are both with us a lot it might happen on it's own, but don't force it.

Eadoo, please don't be offended. There's always one amongst us who wants everything for themselves.

Trixy, we should be honest with you. You feel that horrible depression because we just confessed love to Eadoo. We did it because she wanted to leave, but I can't really say it's untrue. She told us she feels the same way.

We in general have been accepting of you as a partner, but when I see the consistent private discussion about how we need you to "win", I realize we are maybe being cruel to you by using you in this method. We care, but too many that want you do it for selfish reasons.

Agreed.

I don't really know what we should be doing, but I know what we shouldn't be doing. We shouldn't be going any further with this Eadoo romance thing, at least for now. We shouldn't say or do anything that'd make Trixy feel worse. We shouldn't try to make TrixyxEadoo be a thing.

I don't think any of us, being what we are, can love anyone, at least not easily. However, as a group we can make the decision to love someone, like we did with Trixy. We haven't (yet?) done that with Eadoo, so it could be said that we were lying to him, or maybe not. I don't know, being an emotionally and spiritually distant immortal collection of minds with recurring amnesia is hard, it's hard and nobody understands.

Maybe we should just go put on some more modest clothes like a respectable and totally normal mortal.

Gat - So what is this collar all about?

Trixy - Usually bubble wards are tied to necklaces or rings, something that a mage can easily touch to activate. But for this purpose I'm linking it to my pulse, so it goes off if my blood pressure rises, which is why it's a collar~ This should keep me from going berzerk when not needed. That being said I linked the lock to you, so I can't take it off while berzerking. You'll have to posses me and remove it. But it also goes away on it's own after a minute and has a ten minute cool down.

Gat - Also, probably an excuse to wear a collar.

>She agrees and brings you to a far wing of her soul, it's a tad convoluted to get to and has a few traps set...

Trixy - So though this door is what memories "I" have of our past selves... I unfortunately don't posses every memory and even there I only have stories that were told to me... It's not a lot, but it might help~

>She pulls a large tome out of thin air...

Trixy - But this is the hard drive. It's a very powerful spiritual artifact, you created it long ago... It compiles and backs up all of our spiritual data upon death! It's bound to both you, me and another... I've never known who the other is... These sigils here glow when the individual's soul is currently active and the tome is protecting them. The sun represents you and I'm the moon and... what the Hell!?

>Trixy looks shocked as she just noticed the middle circle is glowing green...

Trixy - I... I just checked this yesterday!! When the fuck did that happen? Who's the Eclipse!? *sigh* I hate not knowing things... Anyways... The book is bound to us all. It's in your soul to, and the Eclipses probably... Don't try to open it though... It only open when it wants to and it only wants to when it has to... I don't think we should tamper with the Hard Drive for now. It might get damaged.

Let's just get to work. Trixy, Aiden, and Roland, get your research teams (that includes Sasha, unfortunately) and draw up an outline of the surgery required to extract that THING from Gatling.

We want a status report on the Away Team. How much time remaining until they can trade for supplies? We're going to need some basic defenses, turrets would probably help.

Talk to the last guy on the recruitment list, and then come up with a defense plan. Go adventuring if it can get us the resources required.

If this is new, then we need to know more. If we already broke everything then we're well into the realm of reasons why we would make this kind of thing.

Also, taking a mortal form might come with certain downsides. Like mortality.

I suppose at this point we should also ask just how different we are from past cycles. How did we act before? What sort of values did we hold?

>I... I just checked this yesterday!! When the fuck did that happen? Who's the Eclipse!?
>[Trixy] will provoke the eclipse if possible...
Hmm. We may have accidentally awoken them by our own work. Before we consumed Eadoo's Fate, we saw a man in our dreams. We were playing a game of Chess with him, and exchanged our Rook for his Bishop. He seemed human, but had cat-like green eyes. Slacked back ashen gray hair. Why do we need tough people? If they are the kind that regenerate, we lead them into a fire trap. If they are the big thick dumb kind we lead them into any trap. If they are huge tough distant cousins of the elves from Nordic mythology that might be tough.

If you are looking for a floated plan on how to take them down, lets go to the garrison and ring a bell till they gather. We'll tell them the problem and ask for volunteers to join our remenant party, on the promise they'll continue to have jobs once we officially take over law enforcement from them. If we could silently get someone shivved with our spare knife, we could judge him, determine if he's a potential ally, and then either recruit him or destroy his spirit and insert ourselves into another guard (non-damagingly of coures).

We could have a host of allies inside a few hours and set up a good ambush for trolls. I admit there's a lot that can go wrong with that plan.

Considering the danger we might want to try something a little easier though less urgent, which is to try experimenting with our soul manipulation abilities. It's been hinted here and there that we could be doing things we aren't. Maybe we can find a solution to the thing we did with Eadoo, or maybe we can at least learn how to fight inside peoples souls without the need to consume our foes. Who knows what we might be capable of.

1. What are your capabilities (skills, assets, knowledge and personality)
2. What are the consequences of hiring you?

Honestly, I don't really care if you have monster-class genetic strains, but if you go out there and start shooting civilians, we're going to have a problem.

Also, you had kids? I thought you said you just had a wife. And I think Gorister said something about Stern's daughter.

Well Algeb, we are demonic in nature too. In some past life we were Gatling the great devourer, and we are indeed capable of devouring souls.

But we made a decision not to be a monster. We made a decision to use our power for something better.

Being a tiefling, I know it's a shock, but you still have a choice regarding what it means. It could be an indication you are corrupted and evil or maybe it means absolutely nothing. Maybe it means you are more powerful being, capable of doing more for the world than you would otherwise.

Your life is touched by chaos but that doesn't need to be a bad thing. You get to decide who you are, not your blood. So pull yourself together.

Deep breaths, count backwards from 15 and remember to breathe, your cant possibly think rationally if you're freaking out like this.

>He slowly starts breathing in deep large breathes

Algeb - (fifteen, fourteen, thirteen, twelve, eleven, ten, nine, seven, six, wait... fifteen fourteen thirteen twelve eleven ten nine eight seven six... oh well... five, four, three, two, one...)

>He breathes slowly and deeply, calming down, as he counts down from fifteen, his demonic nature retreats... his skin turn back to pink and the scars fade, his eyes urn blue and his hair goes black... he looks perfectly normal

Algeb - Okay... I'm better now...

Gat - Relax, tieflings don't breed true. It's like blue eyes and big tits. They usually skip generations and turn up at random.

Algeb - You're right, I shouldn't be so eager to point fingers, I might be seeing faces in clouds... I mean, I'm not even sure I'm a tiefling really. If I am, it hasn't emerged yet... heh... So there's no real way of telling until that happens...

Gat - Self diagnosis can be very risky business, even with reference material. Who wrote that book, anyway?

>The book is written in elvish, He flips to the last page and points to a signature.

Algeb - Episcopus, Corde-puro iustorum, and ancient religious doctor, who studied demonic biology... Truly a great mind~

Gat - Regardless of what you Think you are, you still care. You care for the people of this city, for your family even while you despair the state of your soul. You aren't half the monster you think you are.

Algeb - Th-thank you... You're right... Even if I am a monster, even if I have no place in this world... I still want this town, these people to have a good life... Even if it means giving up mine...

Gat - We're building a nation that considers recruits from all categories. I can understand your concern for fear of going feral, but there's only two things that we really care about: 1. What are your capabilities (skills, assets, knowledge and personality) 2. What are the consequences of hiring you?

Algeb - Right... Eadoo is building a kingdom for all as equals... I suppose that at this point I have little choice but to follow... I am smart and have a fair understanding of machinery, my crossbow arm is steady and I can cut up melons with a halberd, though I have never fought before... I have a fondness for torture... if ever you need someone tortured... I'm willing to do the dirty work... or rather... My kyton side is... Though, I'll have to give up my faith... as a Devil... my lord spits at my image... I simply can never worship Magnus from this point on... You know that the church will not follow in Eadoo's foot steps? Magnus's orders go against everything Eadoo's rule stands for... Still, here we are... Is there a good faith for me? for monsters... I only know of cruel vicious faiths, like Orcus or Armok...

Gat - Put us in Stern and we'll do what we can do to protect you.

>He summons you without even noticing... and stands up.

Algeb - okay, I can do this, but I hope you have a exit strategy. The front door is guarded by three men and climbing down the tower is a long way down... Also, if I help you escape I'll be killed for treason. So feel free to share your plan with me, I'll tell you if there's any holes in it...

Simple: "Torture Stern".

Here are the insane reasons why this is not insane:

1. One of Gatling's powers is to make the knife he's possessing "transparent"; it will do no damage, even as the blade carves up the target.
2. You have a reputation as a torture fetishist. If you tell the guards that someone wanted you to torture Stern and dispose of him, they wouldn't bat an eye. In fact, thanks to (1.), go nuts and Stern's corpse will be fine.
3. Stern is, for all intents, dead. That's a physical shell with sub-autonomous mental programs still installed, no personality or identity whatsoever. We can sell the deception further with Gatling's OPLZNERF powers, allowing you to throw Stern in the garbage. We'll then stealth him out of the garbage pile, and you can throw a lit match soon after.

Easy. Just remember to keep yourself under control, you don't want to turn a paler shade while flaying a corpse with a 0-damage knife.

Afterwards, you'll have to decide if you want to stay in the police as our informant or just join us now. You may be the only one who can save Gorister and/or turn the rest of the force into the anti-demon army they were hired to be, but given our string of HORRIBLE luck and the consequences we've seen I'd say that any epic misstep while in the police force could cost you your family.

I suggest you send your family into Eadoo's care, she can set them up with one of her allies and keep them away from the conflict.

I like the pretend to kill Sterns lifeless body and then drag it out to the dump. Can you get something stinky from the kitchen and rub it on him? Would give you a excuse to get rid of a body if its stinking up the place.

Personally I'm a bit of a fan of Armok's work, but that's neither here nor there. Faith is nice, and the gods have their uses, but they aren't necessary to have a good life. We have a project in the works to the effect of what you're looking for, we'll just have to wait and see if that pans out.

>>688583
His family doesn't know about him being a tiefling(?) right? They should be fine.

If you can see some variation on the stern plan being viable, then go ahead, you probably know more about your situation than we do. Although... I don't remember if the knife leaves visible wounds, you may have to use some other implement. I assume you know how to leave nasty looking wounds without dealing lasting damage. You could leave the knife stuck in his throat to make people assume that he's dead. Alternatively, if you don't want to go with that plan, we could use stern as a distraction while you slip off into the night.

As for a hiding place, we have access to an inn that you could use.

Algeb, I'm glad you are on board with us. You seem pretty, tell me, is there anyone else worthwhile working amongst the guard?

I ask because it's becoming obvious we need to replace the existing guard. Having someone maintaining order is important, the power vacuum caused if we removed them would certainly be a problem, but it's like a powder keg waiting to go off. If we had just a few men who are guard for the right reason, who take the job seriously, we could put them in charge and then send our own people to aid as a sort of militia if something bigger came along that requires more people.

But that does require a few trustworthy people, and it sounds like that's the opposite of the people we have in the guard.

Faith? If you only want to look up to a higher power, then there's us, since a demon said we're part god, but I don't know a thing about being one, so if you expect anything out of a god, well, that's something to look into. That's why I mentioned it, then I said that we also don't know anything so it's okay if he goes with another god. I mean, what we represent is community backing one another up regardless of differences--that includes religious differences. While we disagree with Magnus, that's simply because his religion is about stamping out the differences. A lot of these other gods I assume have less issues with differences, even if they don't like those who follow another faith.

Gat - Algeb, I'm glad you are on board with us. You seem pretty, tell me, is there anyone else worthwhile working amongst the guard?

Algeb - Well there's Maxims, he's a good guy, if only for the fact that he's too lazy to enforce cruelty on others... I'm certain he has sloth devil in him... And the Pridwen... He's a kind fellow who always helps when possible and does little to harm non humans, save for when a superior is watching, but I've seen him offer money and food to those he's wronged... Also, I'm almost certain Pridwen is a girl... But that requires investigation... Carl is a nice fellow, though a bit slow. He left the guard this morning, and Khyle is trustworthy, but abuses his power. He was a nice guy before he entered the guard, maybe he can be brought back... He hasn't yet returned from the forest last night... I worry for him... So out of the twenty guards, that's about all that's worth saving if you ask me... knowing that Gorister, Stern and Harsh are gone... there's only about twelve guards to worry about... We should manage right?

>>688612
Gat - Personally I'm a bit of a fan of Armok's work, but that's neither here nor there. Faith is nice, and the gods have their uses, but they aren't necessary to have a good life.

Algeb - True. You can live without faith, but the gods are necessary to live a good afterlife, which should be the striving point of any good lifetime, it's important to enjoy the journey of life, but without the destination, there would be no motivation, no drive... Besides, all men must die... And where would I be at that point, without faith...

>>688621
Gat - That god we first told Pipo to look into might be good for you, violent justice through pain and torture, I think it was.

Algeb - oh the young orc Pipo? I think I saw him with a robe and a scythe yesterday... I hear he's taken up worship of Orcus... Hmm... That's a slippery road, It's principles are fair, but it's methods are somewhat unsavory. I've looked into it myself, but I would rather not dabble in that. Partially because of the whole cannibalism thing, but mostly because of the afterlife... The idea of an afterlife fueled by the utter destruction of this world and all life in it... It's not my idea of a good time...

>>688710
Gat - What about the gnolls' sun god (that I can't remember his name)? He was supposed to be all about justice and stuff. He's not exclusive to gnolls, is he?

Algeb - Well it would help if I knew the slightest thing about him...

Gat - If you only want to look up to a higher power, then there's us, since a demon said we're part god, but I don't know a thing about being one, so if you expect anything out of a god, well, that's something to look into.

Algeb - Actually I quite like the idea, I've always had a bit of trouble trusting my soul and faith to an interpret and always wished I could have a word with the big guy myself. If you are a god as you say, even a lesser god, it's still an opportunity to speak my peace...
I have a few questions if you will... What are your domains of worship? What values are expected of a good follower? What are your overarching religious Tenets? And most of all what afterlife awaits me for my worship? while we're on the topic, How do you consume the virginity of maidens? is it in blood, death, deflowery? What is your opinion of same sex relations? And whats your view on murder? is it okay to kill in cold blood, if the victim deserves it? What if I was ordered to kill, is it the person giving the order who's to blame? What about hot blooded murder? Is it wrong of me to enjoy murder, even if it's an order from someone else and the victim deserves death? ...

>>688583
Gat - you'll have to decide if you want to stay in the police as our informant or just join us now.

Algeb - Well yes, I would rather simply leave the force, but I understand the need for an inside man... Here's the dilemma, I could simply walk away. like Carl, inform a superior that I'm quitting and hand in my weapons. But then you would loose your spy, how ever if I stay and my dealings are discovered, then I would be tried for treason and killed, if I were to escape death, my family would be at risk... all very risky busyness... I would rather walk away from it, but if you need me on the inside I'll stay, but I'll need your word that the guards will be dissolved expeditiously, the less time they're in power, the safer my family will be...

Gat - I suggest you send your family into Eadoo's care, she can set them up with one of her allies and keep them away from the conflict.

Algeb - That is an option, I'll inform my beloved ones when the time is right... if need be we'll move them to a safehouse...

Gat - Simple: "Torture Stern". Here are the insane reasons why this is not insane: 1. One of Gatling's powers is to make the knife he's possessing "transparent"; it will do no damage, even as the blade carves up the target. 2. You have a reputation as a torture fetishist. Just remember to keep yourself under control, you don't want to turn a paler shade while flaying a corpse with a 0-damage knife.

>The man smiles viciously, his eyes gleaming red...

Algeb - I quite like this plan... I quite like it indeed... of course I'll need to make it believable...

>He unbuttons his coat and takes it off, twirling you in his hand, without even realizing he summoned you...

>>688612
>I don't remember if the knife leaves visible wounds

only if it deals damage, otherwise the woundless attack leaves no mark, the blade simply slips into the body, as if ethereal...

Gat - you may have to use some other implement. I assume you know how to leave nasty looking wounds without dealing lasting damage. You could leave the knife stuck in his throat to make people assume that he's dead.

Algeb - I can leave some gnarly marks... I need to warn you, this might get a tad... personal... try not to be bothered... Keeheheehahahaa... heh... hehhee... I'll need you to bleed on me... hope you don't mind~

>What are your domains of worship?
Community, Knowledge, and Fertility. Something tells me that normally a new god would only have two, but somehow Fertility of farms and women just came as a natural domain.
>What values are expected of a good follower?
Put simply, to place importance in your community. As long as it isn't something that harms the community, I'll probably accept it, though I'm permitted to choose what I don't like on a more specific list. I'm not omnipresent, though, so I won't be able to answer questions at any given time.
>What are your overarching religious Tenets?
Above all else, seek companionship and knowledge. Seek pleasures without pain, especially as a way of strengthening your connections with the community. Do not scorch the farmlands, and do not destroy one's ability to reproduce.
...That last one pertains to the gonads, if it isn't clear.
>And most of all what afterlife awaits me for my worship?
Is that something I have yet? I haven't had any followers die, so I don't know for sure; the first person to die would probably have only ourself for company for a time, but I like to think it would be a rural-to-suburban peaceful place, where you could enjoy a reasonable sized living area near your community. There would, of course, be a grand library of knowledge.
Our domain of fertility would be represented in farmland and gardens--which would not be necessary to enjoy community, but there are those who enjoy expressing their green thumb.
>While we're on the topic, How do you consume the virginity of maidens? is it in blood, death, deflowery?
Deflowery.
>What is your opinion of same sex relations?
There is no wrong in it, though male-male and female-female relations will be unable to benefit from our blessings of fertility as a rule of nature.
I wonder if it would be possible to bless one who claims a gender not their cis?
>And whats your view on murder? is it okay to kill in cold blood, if the victim deserves it? What if I was ordered to kill, is it the person giving the order who's to blame? What about hot blooded murder? Is it wrong of me to enjoy murder, even if it's an order from someone else and the victim deserves death?
Murder can be a vague term, but sometimes it is necessary to protect a community. I do not support it to the extent that Magnus or Orcus do; it is not something to be thrown around all willy-nilly in the name of justice and religion. Whether or not you enjoy it does not matter; instead, what matters is if they deserve it. This is why we hoped you would join us--You aren't shy of the idea, and I believe you can keep it in check for when they deserve it. Better somebody rational who enjoys the act, than somebody who does not, rational or not.

Who would deserve it? I can say now: Repeated cases of scorched farmland, even a single case of tearing out the gonads of a person without request, or serial murders in the name of "fun," not law. A single murder in the name of fun is up to the interpretation of whoever judges them.
The destruction of a plagued field is not against our doctrine, though. While I would prefer to purify, there are limits to what I can achieve. Likewise, wombs cursed to spew out murderous, monstrous spawn, or testes cursed to drive libido so high the host cannot think beyond fucking the nearest moving thing, if you cannot bring them to a priest to purify, then the physical destruction or removal is valid. Do not allow a corrupted fertility just to fit our most base tenets.
>Well yes, I would rather simply leave the force, but I understand the need for an inside man...
That alone is all we need to hear. If you wish to leave, you have our permission. Do not take unecessary risks.
>That is an option, I'll inform my beloved ones when the time is right... if need be we'll move them to a safehouse...
Do you feel that plan negates the risk, then? If not, then you can forget it. Like I said, do not put yourself in danger if the risks outweigh the rewards.
>without even realizing he summoned you...
Let's make that blade ours.
>I'll need you to bleed on me... hope you don't mind~
Again, as long as the body lives on~ If you need our blade in particular to shed blood, let me know before you make cuts. The final blow, to a location which should be lethal, let me know too, so that I may render it harmless before it enters the flesh. A "Bloodless wound" would be the best sign of a killed body, after all!

Get a hold on yourself, man. THIS is why you keep thinking you don't deserve to breathe air.

First step is to go to the kitchen and get some ketchup / colon vomit. Talk to anyone that you find who is trustworthy. See what is going on in the police headquarters.

Give us a step-by-step explanation of every knife thrust. When you're done, carry the body and subtly stab someone high on the force but weak-willed.

Throw the body into the garbage and go visit your family. Get them to safety.

Also, we met Carl. He's... straightforward. Some oracle told him that if he keeps wearing the police Jacket, he'll die. That's understandable. Now he quit the force and he STILL wears the literal jacket because he thinks it's comfy. Not reasonable. Please persuade Carl to wear something else. Also tell us if there is another definition of "Jacket".

Algeb - Ohh those are some good domains~ It's rare to have a god preach knowledge, most religions like having their cattle plump and dumb...

Ah, right. I forgot, Richard here kind of... gained the power to spread our blessing, but in the process destroyed our blade? Not a normal thing to happen for a new follower, but that may have been a sacrifice that allowed us our power. Strange that he was summoned, though, did his "destruction" of our blade name him as its replacement?

Well, I guess now's a good a time as any to try some experiments regarding that. Richard, see if you have the powers that the blade had. Try to "Harmlessly" possess Stern.

R>Stab a finger "Harmlessly" into Stern's body.

If it doesn't work, then I guess we're out of luck. If it does, though, then you might be able to act as a sort of pilot. Further the idea of Stern's corpse being more of a "Construct" at this point. (Although, uh, that might be better held off until after the torture)

Gatling@Eadoo (If this doesn't work): May need Richard summoned back. Accident happened.

Gatling@Alegb (If it doesn't work): May as well go through with it and dump the body into the garbage, we'll try and retrieve it later.

Algeb opens the gate for you and you walk up to Stern's lifeless body... You kneel down and touch your finger to his body and try to harmlessly penetrate him... you finger sinks into him, thought his leather coat and into his body... it's bizarre, you're not cutting or pushing his flesh aside, it feels like your body and his are one... occupying the same space, you feel like a haze inside him, like you're mist flowing through his blood... his body is warm along side yours and you feel his flesh and bones as an extension of your own form... You pull your arm out and find it to be perfectly fine... despite feeling weird, now that your have nerve endings... it appears you function as a blade for all intents and purposes...

Ruin-philosophers seek oblivion, huh? That explains why Stern wasn't afraid. The guy wasn't infernal by nature, he was just another @#$%ed-up rapist-murderer beyond reasoning.

"Chief wanted to find out how the hell he survived; no way a lazy deadbeat like him could have killed his brother on his own. Someone helped HIM for a reason. I figured I might as well try my luck because that information will be REALLY important in our current @#$%ed-up situation.

Also, he's not actually dead yet but that technique I usually use to induce a neural shock without actual brain-stabbing caused a backlash in his heart rhythm. He's a vegetable now, you may as well kill him yourself for kicks. Here."

Give Stern's body to Pridwen (the moustache girl) and we'll take it from there. We need a clear line of sight from part of Stern's exposed flesh to Pridwen's exposed flesh, possibly the neck.

Strange. His brother may have been, but Stern seemed to be a pure blooded human. Our Witch friend simply polymorphed and then undid said morph on him, nothing that would have touched his soul. Quite curious, as I think you're right about all of the Guard being demons, which would mean something removed the demon part of his soul before we got to him.

Shooting us would be a tad ineffective. You should know that if you are dealing with possession. And what exactly are you? Werewolves can't change at will.

We aren't the enemy you are hoping for. Our nature is only half demonic and if you have otherworldly sense you'll see that. Your missing leader Gorister on the other hand, was of full demonic lineage. We came carried on Stern and talked to him. We failed to convince him to help us. We tried different people and tactics but... but Gorister wanted to be the hero. Had to be the hero. He wanted the story of this place to be his story and when he found out it wasn't and never would be, he became one with all the corrupt and evil things he'd done, manifesting his demonic nature and flying off to raise an army to destroy us with.

Algeb mentioned you weren't one of the corrupt ones. That you try not to hurt those the law here doesn't care for. We need people like you here to maintain order for the city. I'm not going to lie, we aren't just going to let the guard maintain the status quo now that Gorister is gone. We'll resort to violence if necessary but it's almost never necessary and any other route is preferable to bloodshed. All we need is people willing to do whats right, but that's what we lack. If you helped us in this matter we'd have an easier time keeping things from becoming messy.

So you have a choice I guess. You could toddle off and go find Gorister, be subservient to a demon, and fight to destroy the innocent and uninvolved, or you could stay here and try to maintain order. We are worried that with the reduction in guard there'll be problems with the law around here. That's not good for us or you.

I have to ask... you being otherly aware had to have noticed something about Gorister that was different. He shone brighter than most, and when we forced him to wear the blood of his victims to teach him a lesson it soaked him head to toe. If you could tell me you were aware of his shining soul, or even more so aware of his demonic nature, there's great good you could do for the people of this city.

"Very well.
First, you should know that we're puppeting this body; the wounds don't affect us, nor would its death. Simply put, nobody was using it so we decided we'd claim it for ourselves.
Second, part demonic, part angelic, mostly 'other'. We're largely neutral.
This brings us to your question. Gorister has angelic heritage. We convinced an angel to confront Gorister over his monstrous actions. He was unable to handle the truth, and fled. If you ask around you might find witnesses to a black-winged creature flying away - that was Gorister, the fallen half-angel, running from the ugly truth he couldn't accept.

You likely noticed that the guard was comprised largely of those who were either corrupt and/or not fully human. Gorister's plan was to use you all to create a so-called 'perfect' society for pure-blooded humans, then execute you all. It was a terrible plan in every sense of the word.

Gorrister? He chose his path. We tried to remove his corruption, but he would rather embrace it. He plans to destroy this city, and anybody who he finds to not be a pure human. Hypocritical, given his Fallen nature.
I'm here, at this spot and moment, to get Stern's old body out of here, since without his soul, it would go to waste without my presence.
My overarching reason to be in the village, though, is to grant a certain wish. When I first woke, a young man asked me to make her the king, and with the nearby castle as well as the support of a lot of locals, this seemed the perfect place for that.

I like the first bit ("We aren't the enemy" to "an army to destroy us with"), but I'd change "half demonic" to, "just as divine as we are demonic". I'd also hold off on saying the rest of that stuff, at least until she manages to accept the, frankly far-fetched sounding, truth. Plus we should try to word it so we don't sound so high and mighty, a gaurds(wo)man probably wouldn't take being preached to by an admittedly demonic creature very well.

>if I feel you're even trying to woo me, I'll put two in your head before you can say sorry
Clearly we should say sorry preemptively to gain the tactical advantage. :V

Completely unrelated, but I think we should get the cat princess to teach Eadoo how to act regal, as he is currently he gives off less the air of a king and more the air of an avid strip club goer. Now that he no longer has the crutch of his ~spark~ to lean on we'll have to make a greater effort on the PR front.

... This isn't permanent is it?

Whatever. Hey Eadoo, we got you a clone for Christmas. Yes, this makes as much sense to you as it does to us. We didn't mean it; someone left Gatling a package with an ivory cat statue inside and we were talking about it when it suddenly hovered out of the room. Keep in mind that we're tech-based, we don't know the first thing about detecting magic.

The good news is that this might be a good way to extract the orb. The bad news is... um... you may have to look at a clone of yourself get tortured alive.

You know what, fight it out and the loser has to become Aiden's test subject.

Whoa, calm down! Mysterious artifact stuff. You, with the crown still on, you can talk first, but hear me out before that. The spell that launched itself out didn't have a malevolent aura, and the two of you clearly both align yourselves to me, meaning either the spell cloned you, or cloned your memories and mentality into a doppelganger, meaning they won't even realize they're a doppelganger. I have a feeling our life is about to get a whole lot more stupid. How are we going to reconcile the differences between the two that will inevitably develop? How are we going to go about giving Eadoo his spark back, will only one of them become special? Will we have to split and dilute it? Will they have to take turns with it? Yet again we've been beset upon by ridiculous magic bullfuckery.

You face away from them, and roar loudly and triumphantly, the entire town hears you yell your victory!! Your battle cry is strong enough to break the magical resolve of the guards!

>>694258
>Use a wolf's execution and tear out his throat with Lummox B's hands and mouth.

You grab the wounded dire man and bite deep into his throat! This feels wrong... something hardwired into this body's brain opposes this action... you feel compelled to kill and eat the humans, specifically... those who haven't succumb to the dire must be devoured! Fortunately you've overpowered these compulsions... you rip his throat our as blood gushes over your face and into your mouth, it's revolting!! unlike that fresh undired blood from the little girl...

Algeb is unconscious and Eadoo is "Charmed"?

If you've all forgotten, we can and do watch our people fuck sometimes. I find it alarming Eadoo is charmed and we should do something about it. My suggestion is we grab Pridwen (being careful not to hurt her) and dire man dash back to Eadoo, as this kinda seems like an organized attack to me all of the sudden.

I say we should grab Pridwen because to some degree I expect she's involved, though it's more likely the witch that wrote that note.

Regardless, lets go protect our peeps.

Guard - It's! It's!! It's an angel!! The white flash that jumped in them and killed them both was a guardian angel!!

Guard - It has to be!! It is! Lord Magnus be praised we're saved by his glory!!

I managed to score a rather impressive piece of noqual sky metal, in part due to my lovelies conversation skills, but mostly thanks to a promised foursome tonight... I won't say I'm not looking forwards to it, but I would prefer it not be a trade token... You could save the blacksmith with that shard, but noqual skymetal is very very powerful indeed.. you could boost your possession abilities with it tenfold!

I think it was only the two Dire Humans.

Personally I think we should either #1:shred this one's mind (and possibly omnomnom it's soul, if it has one), #2 exit it and use a Lust Domain ability to bind/paralyze it, or #3 activate Un/Holy Flames INSIDE IT'S BODY AS WE BURST OUT IT'S BACK, and pose heroically while using torchlight to glow radiantly.

Also, the Eadoos Enthralling each other if practically BEGGING for shenanigans to occur.

Thirdly we should probably use Destined Birth on Shenzi & Eadoo's science baby to give it an extra boost in potency. That way the body we use in our non-deific persona can start out even stronger.

Go for Look the Part, then. People who see the body flying around think it's an angel already anyways, so may as well have a toggleable to enhance that.
Plus Afterlife comes after that, right?
>Telepathic voice [you can speak telepathically to anyone (friend or foe) within your telepathic range]
And go for this for the blade. This will even further help support Richard being something great since we can still use blade powers through him.

I don't want to shapeshift if it requires us to focus more on Trixy. She is such a pandering, bad character, there to appeal to your dick and your min maxing stupidity. In a game that's got such rich and diverse characters focusing on the worst one because it nets us some neat perk is foolish.

Frankly I'd rather the entire quest fail than us continue down the Trixy line.

Gatling ups their Will and charisma by 5

(she's a keeper, internal discipline and telepathic voice are drawled, but SK had four votes and two against, where the others had two... I'm going for Sk based on that...unless my math is wrong?)

>She's a keeper [something has changed, and your not the only one to feel it, perhaps for the better. you feel ready to take certain unsteady steps and so does someone else (Trixy feels comfortable with you, knowing you, or rather a sizable part of you, loves her... something inside you has changed]

>>696053
Grey angel saved it, I don't have to feel bad about that tie breaker!

>Internal discipline [you've furhtered your ability to not kill your allies when you try to posses them (+20 to not devouring souls)]

>Look the part [Gatling has unlocked a fragment of his true form made manifest! At will you can cause divine light to irrupt from your hands, eyes, mouth and cannon. Gatling also floats several inches off the ground and can move at running speed. Furthermore your voice echoes with divine grace. This can be deactivated at will (+30 to convincing people your not a normal mortal person)]

- - - - - - - - - - -

Avatar goes up one level without affecting your over all level since it's your off class.

Select one perk from the avatar list.

>Avatar Perks<

>Undeniable appearance [your godlike appearance greatens making it hard to deny your otherworldly nature, that and clothes manifest on you at will and you can fly a bit faster and higher... (+30 to convince people you're a god, +60 to convince your not meer mortal)]

>Afterlife [you gain ownership over a small pocket dimension in the spirit plain, the souls of your worshipers, and unclaimed souls that die in your name, find themselves in your pocket, upon death. To do with what ever you please~ the pocket is however somewhat small and unfurnished, it may require renovations and you'll have to speak to the land lord about rent...]

>Focused domain* [Gatling can cast intermediate spells from one of their domains (more level 1 spells and level 2 spells)]

>Advanced Orison 1 [Chose one level 1 spell to become a level zero spell]

>Gatling has gained [afterlife] You can travel to and from your pocket dimension at will, your followers however need to get there the good old fashion way... for now... Time is slowed down in this pocket, similarly to in the mind and soul, (about x20 slower) when you travel to your pocket dimension, your body is still present in the real world, but your body is not present in the pocket, when you are in the real world... (so, it's just like possession, only for a whole dimension...)

Inside your pocket dimension, there is no wind, it's not hot or cold, there is no light source nor is there shadows worth mentioning... it looks like it goes on for ever in all directions, but you feel well aware that there is a finite space in this realm... The ground, walls and ceiling are pure white with no texture. But there seems to be a small spruce forest creeping out from what you decide is the south east corner of the pocket... the grass is dying and the trees are not doing well... It's dead quiet... more quiet than anything you've ever witnessed... no bird or bugs, no wind, no nothing...

*BANG BANG BANG!!*

Suddenly you hear banging on what sounds like a wooden door... The sound echoes though the nothingness, lending out from deep withing the forest...

I couldn't help but notice that you are a new deity in the neighborhood and would absolutely adore to extent a personal greetings to you from the rest of the civilized spiritual world~ (Smile Crom, remember to smile... exposed teeth, mortals like exposed teeth...)

>Near behind him is a squat puss ridden man with crab legs, and off to the side sits another well dressed man in a red suit, his face is hidden by a black fedora as he slowly rolls a cigarette...

Cromwell - Now, you must be asking yourself, How am I going to attract the will and souls of many mortals to your new religion without a hand full of souls at your immediate disposition, right~? Well the answer is simple, Advertising! And that's why I'm here~ You see, mortals don't really care about songs from bards or preachures from clerics, mortals love shiny metal and magic doodads! My job is to offer a convenient way to acquire and transport artifacts, relics and macguffins from this realm to the mortal realm, and when those mortals see the sweet magical ass blasting great-sword you gave your paladin, they'll swoon over you and flock to your reliquary to worship you in no time~ So in a nutshell, I'm an Advertising agency~! Ahh.. a preserved skull, with but a touch it permits the use of broken limbs as if they were good as new~!

You ask the man in red, what the rules are.

Red - oh sure, my pleasure...

Cromwell - Oh don't fret, no need to get up, Clearly you've earned their trust, but I have yet to earn mine... Allow me to explain in all honnestly the rules and if I lie then your red dressed friend can call me out~ though he wont, I simply detest lying...

>The red suited man sits back down and lights his cigarette, it smells of cherry wood...

Cromwell - So, in the spirit realm, there are a long list of rules named the demon code, as the name suggests it was devised by demons and approved by angels. It favors both parties equally and helps maintain a certain balance between the various forces. AS you know, if I were to simply walk into your pocket here and now, you could will me a away instantly with no trouble, but if you invite me in, I would be able to resist you, as such I suggest you get a good lock for that door, maybe even set someone to guard it, wouldn't want a nobody mortal inviting soul eating fiends into your precious realm~

>The red man nods.
Cromwell - another important thing to know is the phrase, "you have my word" if a denizen of the spirit realm makes a promise using that phrase they must uphold it, otherwise a red mark appears on our face... this mark is very difficult to get rid of and requires administrative paperwork... That mark is a terrible plight on anyone here, since it means you can't be trusted... and trust is as good as gold in this land...

>The red man nods again...

Cromwell - And quite possibly the most important thing to know about this place is the phrase, "Shall we have tea instead?" and "We'll meet in court"... If you are attacked in the spirit realm, you can offer to solve the conflict non violently over tea. doing this should cause a small blue ribbon to appear on your wrist, provided you're sincere about your offer, if the assailant refuses, a red ribbon should appear on their wrist... And finally, claiming to meet someone in court. Lawyer devils can hear that phrase from across the universe and tend to flock on you when you shout it... in fact there's probably one on his way right now... IT'S OKAY, I'M JUST GIVING AN EXAMPLE TO A NEW DEITY! Ehh... they'll probably show up anyways... anyhow... All the rules of the demon code are listed in the main entry of the Juristdictum offionatorum, coodinates: 34"22"91 They review the rules every three months so check by every now and again~

>The red man smiles and claps his hands silently...

you ask him what virgin roses are, and how difficult they are to get.

Cromwell - Ah! so you are indeed very green... Well allow me to show you, this is a virgin rose...

>He pulls a simple, thornless rose from his sleeve... it smells of innocence and pride...

Cromwell - This is the currency of the spirit realm, they are used for trade as well as many rituals, in fact most actions worth note in the spirit realm consume virgin roses, which is why we use them as legal tender... These roses are the literal virginity of fair maidens. You'll acquire them when a mortal maidens virginity is sacrificed to you, whether they be willing or not... You'll note that each flower has ten pedals, these pedals are also currency, like copper coins in a silver... there's also virgin souls... they are worth ten roses and are received when the life of a virgin maiden is sacrificed to you...

>He removes a glowing blue orb, within is a burning slit... it hums slightly... (it looks like blue Sauron)

Cromwell - please be aware that the souls of virgin maidens sacrificed this way do not awake into this realm, they do not sleep, breathe, see, blink, hear, smell, feel, eat, drink, dream or even think... they are as much a person a the coins in a tellers pockets... If this is abhorrent to you, then don't do it, if the idea of ten times the profit for double the effort seems like a good idea then I'll gladly offer my services and lighten your pockets, but do not make a ruckus over this currency, it's more trouble than it's worth... virgin souls have started wars... Virgin souls have ended wars...

Red man - All too true... well said indeed...

Cromwell - Now... since you don't have any money, I doubt you could by any of my goods. So as a sign of good faith and to help you fetch more busyness I'll gladly offer you this complimentary booster pack! (by the gods, booster pack is a terrible name, why did I let my son name it...)

>He hands you a small pack of three cards, wrapped in thin metallic plastic. on the package is an image of a wizard and a barbarian, "Relics and artifacts gen4 The Harrowing ~Revengence~" is written under the mascots...

Cromwell - within are three random cards, all of them work and all of them are yours. you can summon them into the mortal realm at will, but doing so will consume the card. There's no tricks here, no scams, no catch. You have my word~ Here take my busyness card as well.

>The man bows politely and leaves... Hearing that you don't have any money, the crab looking fellow doesn't seem to interested in staying long...

You need to create a Spirit Mailbox.

Titan Size.

For now, find a way to give the card pack to Trixy. Maybe she can do something with it.

Ask Cromwell (on his 'word') if you can execute enemies in a specific way that allows you to harness their soul power in the Spirit World, as opposed to your current practices. Also ask if you can perform a ritual sacrifice of a virgin yourself. Does the virgin have to be devoted to the entity they are collected by, or can you sacrifice a douche8!+(# that you captured alive?

If he hadn't left so soon, I would reassure him that in the mortal realm, that's a perfect name, so for dealings with new demigods it's perfect.

Does Cromwell's card list an address if we later agree?
For now, let's ask the crab guy what his business is, in case it's useful when we do get money.

That being said, the skill you bought covers the first month, so your next rent is due in two mortal months...

I guess I'll give it to you scot free~ I'll have to rip those trees out though... they're outdated and wont set well with the newer models... *sigh* so I guess you may as well chose a whole new floor... What kind of floor would you like for your little piece of paradise~ That being said you could use a place to live in here, maybe a small palace or a big shack? Hmm. Well,
>You and I, we play a game together sometimes, you chose a hero, I chose a villain, someone wins, someone loses, a fun time is had all around~
I do hope this area is exempt from our game. Last thing I want is that madman charging into here. I actually intend to make use of this place, "TYViM" ((Basically say "T-Y-V-M as though it's a word)). I do need to look into declaring a holy-or-what-have-you champion so that the guy I stole the Mojo from still has something going for him, otherwise... Well, the route my pieces are following right now just doesn't seem optimal.
>Did you really think I needed your permission to walk on my own ground?
Nah, I would have invited you in anyways if it worked.
>But I can tell just by looking at you, you've created the eclipse already, does the moon know yet~?
She and I discovered that the moon was created together. If we somehow made it...
>What kind of floor would you like for your little piece of paradise~
I'm intending it to eventually be like a town, so for now, an inn-slash-tavern should work. A place for my wandering worshipers to meet in death.

>Are you a god yourself or just a power?
Can we not ask that one? I don't want spoilers about the enemy of the game, here!
>But how about you? And the rest of our family?
This phrasing is better. Let's not get too into detail that we end up caring about somebody we don't even remember, but I do wonder about the vague details, like the mother being a half-angel, does that make our father a half-demon?
>Oh and what happens if our hero wins? Or looses?
Now, now, let's not spoiling the epilogue! At least, we can ask if Godhood is something we can keep if we like it. I'm sure we could eventually delegate a top-tier subordinate as the new avatar when we next play the game.
>We'd like something more permanent.
What's not permanent about making our own domain?
>But for now, what's the easiest way to earn rose petals?
Tell Algeb to take virginities in our name. Or we could have a priest in our service sacrifice (To death) virgins for the soul dealio.
>Still, is there any way we can convince you to take direct control of him, team up, and use our combined armies to perform acts of mayhem and domination?
There's no fun in that, good buddy. Our game of war is a game of war, not alliances.
>Might be able to take down the church of Magnus
At the very least reform it. Religion is a damned difficult thing to outright kill, but if you weaken the structure of it, you can convince a god to change their ways in exchange for... Well, I guess roses, since he'll be wanting to keep his power as high as he can.

Gat - I'm intending it to eventually be like a town, so for now, an inn-slash-tavern should work. A place for my wandering worshipers to meet in death. And fields of golden wheat I guess?

Tass - Sounds simple enough, I'll have slight breeze put in so the wheat waves around a bit... maybe some fauna? What lives in wheat fields... Crows? Cows? Silthstriders? ... I'll have R&D look into it...

>The man pulls out a bright green rectangle and starts tapping on it while he talks to you...

Gat - So why are we renting this from you exactly? Do you rent out real estate to lots of people? And where did you get the land for this anyway? Do all new dieties have this sort of set up? Or is it just something set up because of our relationship with you?

Tass - Yeah, most of the outer realm is owned by some company or another. I recently picked up a nice big chunk of emptiness and put it up for rent. I'm not the most successful man in real estate but at least I'm fair with my clients, You were matched with me since we're related, the demon code favors houses and clans, so there's a law demanding I get first pick on you, if you want another landlord, you're free to move...

>>698455
Gat - I do hope this area is exempt from our game.

Tass - oh course it is. I won't cheat, there's be no fun in that, we're equally matched parties with equal opportunities. Thought I must say, my champion has already gained a seat of power, you'll need to catch up little nephew~

>>698444

Tass - of course I'll sell the land rights to you if you want em. It'll cost you a couple hundred roses though... I'd give you a better price but I'm not alone on the real estate deal and my investors would have my ass... About me? ... Well in the sixties I founded a private company called HELL, it stands for Hot Ever Lasting Lamentations... My friends and I realized that most deities would rather outsource their unwanted souls to an independent pocket dimension that specialized in punishment and torture, rather than deal with them their self's, it's a hassle, it's hard, it takes a dedicated team of psychopaths, a whole team to keep them from escaping and it's bad for moral, the other inhabitants tend to be able to hear or even see the messy work and renting out another pocket just for that is expensive, so they outsource it to me and my palls, there are others who will do the job, but we were the first and we're the biggest~ 80% of religions use HELL for all their damnation needs! Of course I don't my hands dirty anymore, I sign a few papers sometimes and try not to sleep during investor meetings, but mostly my directors and managers take care of the busyness... I kinda started the whole real estate thing to keep me busy and try something new... As for your direct family, well you're an only-child, your mom was killed for having you and your father abandoned you to some cult he had dealings with... you pap was part devil part inevitable... the cult in question thought you would bring an end to all things... well... you kinda did, but the world is still kicking... Hehehee... Spoilers~ Oh! If you've got some unwanted souls that need torturing for a long ass time, I'll take em off your hands, pro bono~ But knowing you, you'll just shove em in your gullet...

>>698447
Gat - is there any way we can convince you to take direct control of him, team up, and use our combined armies to perform acts of mayhem and domination? Might be able to take down the church of Magnus, at the rate Gatling is going.

Tass - Why would I take down Magnus, He's a cool guy, plus he's one of my top investors and patrons... Besides, Like I said, My champion is in a seat of power right now... A nice golden seat in the heart of the capital~ and all it took was a few kidnapped princesses hehee...

>>698447
Gat - what's the easiest way to earn rose petals?

Tass - Get worshipers, make them fuck, prohibit sex bellow the age of sixteen... worshipers can subconsciously offer their goods to you, but it's best if they know what they're doing to an extent... offer goodies to women who give their roses to you, or to men for taking them as Magnus is want to do...

>his device peeps and buzzes loudly "♫~Seid ihr das Essen? Nein, wir sind der Jäger!~♪" he taps it with his thumb silencing it...

Tass - I've gotta take this... here's my cards... oh wanna play some poker with me and the guys on Sunday? Maggy and Orcus will be there~ Think about it...

>He walks away into the forest and vanishes into mist...

Seeing as we are partially a god of lust, I dont think prohibiting sex will jive with our followers. That said, sex rituals would be part of our religion regardless.

Also, Magnus is a huge dick. Half the reason all these gnolls and kobolds and fringe types flock to our cause is because he's made life miserable for them. That and were so damn sexy.
