Your mom has interrupted valuable quiet time. You shout back,"What?"

"Take this greeting basket to the neighbor's house."

She seems to not understand how this works, "Aren't we supposed to get welcome baskets?"

"I'm just trying to be friendly!"

"Then why don't you take the basket?"

Your mom shouts back, "Because I'm busy unpacking and you're not doing anything!"

"Can't you do it later?"

"Have you decided to finally help unpack?"

"No"

"Then no. Stop being such a lazybutt and go."

Why are you considering climbing some dumb tree? Get a move on and deliver this basket. The sooner you do, the sooner you can get back home and help your... mother... unpack... Hmmm... Actually, climb that tree and see what's what up there.

It's probably too late to fix it now, but maybe you should have thrown on something more substantial than a bikini. For all you know, the neighbors are huge prudes and will be massively offended with your low level of clothing.

You finish off the berry and consider gathering more, but don't know how to carry them on top of your rusty curved sword and ancient torch.

You do figure, however, that you could use your beach scarf as an impromptu carrying case if need be, but would still need a way to carry that.

You look at the things at the base of the statue.

There are four rusted cylinders in the base, the 1st, 2nd, and 4th have swords lodged in them at various rotations, the 3rd, has hole shaped to fit a sword, with something broken off inside, filling up the hole.

There's a panel in the middle that's slightly ajar

4 rusted cylinders? Maybe this is a completed puzzle. Those are old keys that were used to open the panel a long time ago.

You try pulling the raised corner up and lightly putting some weight on the 4 corners.

It wibble-wobbles back and forth from its current position to flush with the ground. Without putting some real weight into it, you aren't able to make it tilt more that it currently is, assuming, of course, that it's actually capable to tilting further.

Are you willing to stand on the loose tile while checking out the panel?

Well, that could have gone a bit better. Could also have gone a whole heck of a lot worse. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and take a peek inside the alcove in the statue base. Once you've confirmed that its been long looted, climb up and try pulling the gem and metal bit from the statue's sword's pommel.

Yanno, considering the panel only fell a foot, it might have been a pressure plate for some long since broken mechanism. Or it could be that something is blocking it from falling down the shaft its over. Best not to linger, lest it's the latter and whatever is holding the slab up is about to break.

Get that rusty curvy sword, slowly slide it in on the bottom right of the alcove. That'll push the lens-y thing to the left and into the curve of the sword and against the side of the alcove. Then all you have to do is pull it towards you until it's just over the edge, move the sword away, and snatch it up.

The other sword's blade is even more jagged than the curvy sword's. At least it was easier to take out.

The bow is less a bow and more a long curvy stick with a short string at the end.

The Spear's head is as bad as the other weapons, but it's got a rotten shaft.

The shield's overgrown with moss and the wood is rotten, but the bronze ring around it is fine if tarnished.

Boars are rather notorious for killing people who are sure they've dealt them a killing blow. Plus attempting to do so would just be rude! Barging on in to where something sleeps and murdering it because you're scared.

Getting away from it is probably a good idea though. Climbing is not a typical boar talent so, climbing up to the left there would be wise.

try to have the mirror on the ground reflect it at the mirror on the pedestal you just fixed. reflecting it directly from the ground might not work because with lenses, the distance traveled by the light must be exact if you don't want to get a glyph size mismatch. use rubble to hold it in place.

from there you can reflect it to the target thingy.
>>
No. 490542 ID: 964669

You could just hold the lens at the right angle, but then you'd have to put it down to go through the door - unless the rubble falls through and wedges it open.

If that doesn't happen, try placing the lens in the holder and propping it up with some of the loose rocks nearby. You should be able to get the right angle eventually.

Let's hope those rocks fall through the door when it opens, or you won't be able to get through anyway.

the lens holder still works, so we can put the lens in there and somehow position it with rubble.

The vines are thick, heavy and hard to use, but you craft a makeshift lens holder using a spear, vines, and a lens holder.

You're eventually even able to get it to stay in the right place.

You tell her about how squirrels stole your basket, and you chased them to these ruins in the forest, about how you had to solve puzzles and get past a boar, and how you got the sword that's lighter than it looks. She's happy that you had an adventure and got home safe.
