Hmm. Well, remember if you're going to ask someone why they're here, you have to be prepared to talk about why you're here.

If you're feeling up to it, maybe go talk to them!

How would they work? (can only get a house by working for cash) Can they hold things normally if they try? ((I don't really get how a semi-permeable creature can function in a capitalist economy.))

I encourage you to talk with other people here! You don't only lack in your body-health with an eating-disorder... you need some positiv "normal" (in a social sense) social contacts...

Of course not now. The doctor should soon arrive... also, don't ask him about patients. ask them when it's time. Be prepared to talk about yourself and find strength in other's encouragement and your own gratitude...

I'll talk to them if I see them inside-I don't really feel like I have the right to tromp around wherever I please, including out there...I'll ask the floor leader when he comes.

And I certainly won't ask her! ...Him? I-I can't really tell, to be honest...But, it just seems like it's, uh, their business and not mine. I think there's like, a group talk, right? Maybe the slime will show up there.

And...I dunno, really. Depending if they have enough slime-and if they've got enough water to be that flexible-they can take a form like a persons. And...I dunno, they can pick things up and all, but they're still really squishy and, well, slimey. I dunno how they function.

When I glance back out the window, the slime is crawling away from the tree at an alarmingly fast rate for having no legs.

Meh, they probably think people move around alarmingly fast for things balanced on twiggly stilts.

I can't tell. It just seems to be heading towards the building.

There's a knock on the door.

>"Miss Tilly?"

Oh! Has it been half an hour already?

"Yes, I'm ready!" I never got to take a shower or re-bandage my cuts, but I can do that later.

He pops his head in before I can ask.

>"Hey, Alice! I'm Dr. Miller, your floor leader."

...I can't tell if he's a dog, kobold, or dogkobold. I think the latter?

"Oh! Nice to meet you, sir!"

>"And you as well. Now, let's head to lunch, shall we? After lunch, we have group. Have you gotten time to unpack?"

"Not yet. I can do that later, though."

He nods, and holds open the door for me.

He leads me to the cafeteria, and I wander over to the soup section, Dr. Miller following me.

It's just now that I realize I have to eat. I stand, staring at the food and willing it to go away.

>"..Alice, are you alright?"

"I-I already ate enough today. I don't think I could stomach anything else, ha.."

I can feel his worried stare, but I don't care. There are a ton of people in here, no way could I eat all of this in front of them.

Kobolds are kind of slapdash so it's hard to tell sometimes. Just take some soup back to your room.

Would you be more comfortable with eating something if it were just you and him? Ask if there is somewhere private the two of you can eat. He definitely wouldn't let you eat somewhere just by yourself in case you try to just dump it.

Pssst!!!! I am fine with most slurs but if you could please refrain from using 'retarded' as an insult on this thread?

In any case, however, hunger pills are quite real, though they usually double with another affect. Such as for me, there have been cases where i had to take pills to not eat because of stress/depression binging and pills to make me eat from similar problems
Just some clarification!!!

Eat some salad here, preferably one with a tiny bit of meat. Noone will think that badly of you for eating one. I would never think someone eating a salad would be eating too much. If nothing else, take some back with you. The good thing about eating here though is that it gives you an excuse to talk to and meet people. They'll think it's a bit weird if they're eating but you're not.

Salad. That's a good idea. The main serving table has small cups of salad assortments, and I grab a cup of iceberg lettuce. I believe they're practically just water, so I don't feel as bad eating it.

I turn to the doctor, who is frowning heavily.

"M-May I eat somewhere else? You can come, of course, I just...Don't want to eat with everyone in here.."

He shakes his head a little.

>"Just try to eat in here today to see how it is. No one is watching you eat, nor do they care what you eat. There's a empty table over there, if you'd rather sit away."

...Hopefully none of them will notice me.

I pull out a piece of lettuce and let it sit in my palm.
0 I get dizzy. I can feel Miller's eyes on me, his shameful look. Shamed at me about to eat? Shamed at not eating?

I already ate today. I don't need to eat more. Just a few sips of water and I'll be fine.

Alice you are a wonderful person. You are alive and well and you can do amazing things. Even standing and walking are miracles to one who has given away that power. Things may be bad, but you are lifting up that lettuce in your hand. As long as you have life in you, that hand can lift you as high as you need to go. You can get better. You can heal from this. You don't deserve to die. And death is no escape, because in the coming zombie apocalypse you will be forced to walk the world once more, hungry instead not for lettuce, but only brains!

((updates will be a lot more frequent when my new tablet arrives wow and probably better and less hurried!))

After the first piece, I manage to down the rest. As soon as my fingers rapped against the bottom of the salad cup, a huge weight falls onto my shoulder, and I swear that I feel the morsels ripping against my stomach, angry I ate so much.

I cast a quick glance around to see if anyone is watching me eat all of that, and find that Dr. Miller is frowning at me. Judging me. I open my mouth to apologize, but he speaks first.

>"Do...You wish to eat any more, Alice? There's plenty for everyone here."

I can practically hear the anger dripping from his words, thinking that I am a pig, a selfish pig who ate so much that the others are going to starve to death, the ones that deserve to eat and--

>"Alice?? Are you alright? Do you need to go to nurse?"

"I-I'm fine..! I'm sorry, I ate before I came, I didn't mean to eat so-"

>"Alice dear, it's fine! Just as long as you make sure you eat enough, okay? Now, lunch is about to end, so how about we head to group?"

"Okay."

They...Smell like that toy thing, silly putty, kind off. But it's really strong. They smell rather clean otherwise!

In a few minutes, the whole ed with others, all taking a seat. I make mental note that everyone here appears to be female, other than the smileperson.

Once everyone is seated, Miller clears is throats and claps his hands.

>"EVERYONE! I'm glad to see those who showed up did! We've got too new members, as you've noticed, being these two lovely ladies sitting next to each other. Why don't you two introduce yourselves and your reason for being here?"

I guess that answers what the slime is. I REALLY don't want to speak first, but slime speaks first, thankfully.

>"EEEYY', I'm Blurp!" She cooes in a deepish voice, very...ghetto sounding. I can't tell where or how she's speaking, either.

...T-that was interesting.

But what should I say now?! Everyone is looking at me for my turn, and I've suddenly got a headache. My entire back side of my head is pulsing, and I feel a bit disoriented...Just, feed me words so I can repeat them without having to think...

Say you're here because you had an abusive boyfriend and that you're here to get better after what he did to you. Everyone here can see how skinny you are, so whether or not you tell them, they will know the main problem. If you want to face it head-on and earn more respect, you can say that you have trouble making yourself eat. (even you know that you're supposed to eat more than once a day, right? If nothing else, eat 3 smaller meals.)

[SOMETIME LATER]

When I come to my senses, I think I'm blind.

...But it turns out my eyes are just closed.

I don't want to open them.

I hear a beeping noise, a constant humming, and a soreness in my wrist. Actually, there is an overall stinging over my body-namely my shoulders, hips and chest.

..My head feels weird. I raise my hand that is not attached to an IV and brush numb fingers over my scalp. It's....shaved.
>>

Maybe you're additionally allergic to that toxic slime... or are too weak from eating far too LESS!
They probably shaved you to get the stuff away fast...
>>

Huh. Shaved head is a little weird for someone who's just starving. Maybe you were worse off than we knew?

Your options right now basically amount to trying to go back to sleep, or opening your eyes and finding out what's going on.

I have no clue why my head is shaved. A sudden smell hits me, one of cleanliness and...well, a smell that reminds me of just 'white'.

I open my eyes-the room is nearly blindingly white. There are two giant light fixtures embedded in the ceiling, but neither are on. The light is streaming in from a single window and a door that seems to be behind a curtain.

My head hurts.

A man wearing a white jacket and blue scrubs walks in. He seems surprised to see that I'm awake, but greets me with a smile.

>"Alice! Everyone will be pleased that you're up so early."

He waits for a response, but I can't seem to make my mouth move.

>"Alice, before anything else...I've got good-ish news, and bad news...What would you like to hear first?"

I stare at my feet. Or rather, the lumps under my white bedsheets. My wrist is pulsing where the IV is in. What do I want to hear first? Nothing feels real.
