If we're going to tell her everything, then lets do it right.
Also, make it a recap.
"I can explain a lot of that, but it's all kindofa mess.
You know that Light Elf spy Regulus had me kill? That was the Wind dragon - the one for the light elves. He and the king knew it, I didn't. That bit's important.
Soon after that I found out the story behind the dragon slayer. You know the story of Cheront? The bit that was lost is that the water dragon Sharaes hated how her siblings were making their people fight each other, and forged a blade that would weaken dragons greatly just by its mere presence, would protect its wielder from dragon powers, and would inflict terrible harm to any dragon it strikes even if they had no physical form. That's the Dragon Slayer.
Sharaes gave it to Cheront so the other dragons would put their own lives at risk if they tried to fight proxy wars like that again, and the others backed down. That's the treaty; the dragons leave their people out of things and they don't get killed. From Cheront it went to the human kingdom.
When my father killed Ombra - the dark elf dragon - all the other dragons knew immediately that it happened. There's a fixed amount of dragon power in the world, so all the other dragons got stronger and immediately knew she died. That broke the treaty, but no dragon wanted to stick their own neck out until I screwed everything up by killing Aeryr - the light elf dragon.
That's when I found out the full story behind te Dragon Slayer. From the king.
Thasti - the tigerfolk dragon - went into a rage and murdered almost all of the merfolk, then tried to kill Sharaes.
That's when Maggie, Regulus, Ion and I showed up. I found a merfolk that wasn't dead yet and he told me what he knew while I tried to patch him up, while Regulus and Maggie went to check on Sharaes.
Thasti killed Maggie and Regulus fled. He ordered me to leave the merfolk to die and regroup so we could all flee back to central, I told him that I was the only one who could save Sharaes' life, he told me it was an order and he'd have 'my tigerfolk friend' and I drummed out of the knights if I disobeyed, I told him to bring the merfolk I was healing back so the king could talk to him while I went and stopped the fight.
I barely got there in time to save Sharaes, and Thasti did some monologuing about how she was a traitor for making the Dragon Slayer and that he was going to burn Central to ash once he was finished with her. I made him back down by promising that I'd keep the Dragon Slayer from killing any more dragons and attempt to revive Ombra and Aeryr, then he invoked Ombra's spirit to vouch for me. Ombra made him go get Masil - dragon of light and healing, matron of the catfolk - to heal Sharaes and bring back as many of the dead and dying as she could.
Masil resurrected Maggie and brought us back to Central. Ombra went and yelled at the king, the king chucked me out of the knights, I told Saisai about Regulus threatening to expose her, she went off and fought him.
You saw the fight, right? When she refused to back down his next two attacks cut her chin strap and knocked off her helmet, then he immediately said the fight's over since she's not human and claimed he didn't already know that.
I figured if I stayed in Central the king would try to make me hand the dragon slayer over, and anybody who would have it used so carelessly - or maliciously - shouldn't have any control over it.
Also, I found out why all those knights and captains were tossed out - they were sympathetic to other races. Kane's wife is catfolk, and the two of them fled out of fear of a purge. They're both fine. Same with Saisai.
Oh, and Ombra had a treasure that lets you tell wherever somebody is if you know their name. A gold watch thing. The king probably has it, so he'll probably know you found me. Instead you could tell him I'm staying with my half-sister, and there are too many guards around to get the sword without starting a war."
