Yes. You should train with her. Less-lethal combat is still a type of combat she needs to train in. While she's getting used to it, you can also train your shield to further decrease any possibility of damage. This allows both of you to work on areas that you know you need to work on.
However, there are a few things that should be taken care of first. Finding out the layout of the town, and what resources are available, including possibly a training arena you could use.
Also, unless I missed it, despite having put down a gold for it back when you got your first knight assignment, you never did go back to pick up that shield bangle, nor did you buy any other defensive items.
While your picking up active defense skills is highly useful, it would also be useful to have some sort of defensive item that does not require active use.
Now that it is no longer a festival day, you could see about shopping for such an item. Doing so would also make the non-lethal training practice less dangerous for you.
Other items that increase your abilities in non-active fashions can also be good for long-term potency. For example, an item of some kind that allows you to act with greater speed, for example, would benefit on just about any role/task be it attack, defense, healing, utility, or even tasks outside of combat.
While out and about, you may be able to find out what the 'inappropriate' situation is. Also, since your sister is apparently only half-dark-elf it may be that she suffers from this condition as well if any other dark elves attempt to heal her. This may be part of why she knows about it.
